  1. silver top cant remember it was in kpa we measured in dont quote me but i think base was 240kpa?? i think that is bout 34psi wound out to bout 300kpa went great
  2. 1 i know a computer had to be the first thing i had to change but im not rich and every thing i got i got after shopping round but any way i am getting a wolf 3d but i was just concerned as everything and i mean everything on this car has been changed like i mean every nut and bolt i have had so much bad luck and i knew i had to change it but i wanted to make sure the car would be ok aalso i have to drive 4 hours to syd then get the computer and a tune in one go as it would be realy stupid as to fit the computer then drive a farked and retarded piece of shit just to get a tune you know what i mean 2 its not the reg as the car runs the same weather its on or off the car when we set the base fuel pressure we noticed a imediate gain turned it half turn more (its adjustable fuel pres reg) it became absolute shit splutters all through the rev so wound it all the way back so its running off the standard reg at the moment till i get the computer dont get me wrong the car pulls really hard its only round bout 6000 rpm it fells like its leaning out so ill assume that its only the computer that is causing this??? sorry no dyno still have engineering and blue slip and rego to go engineer will come round on sunday so all will be legal on monday tuesday and ill see how much i have left over how much for a tune approx anyway like from scratch does anyone know i just need like expeiriance from what people have payed for first tune i need to know how much to budget?? matt
  3. hey people as some of you know i have finally got the car running after 12 months of build time Now that it is running im having big problems with the car on full boost it kinda splutters and stalls and is real ruff but only at ariund full boost now here are the mods can some one siffer through and try and help me narrow the problem dont know what size the turbo is but have been told it slightly larger than T4 Externall wastegate with 10psi spring custom manifold (high mount) 3" dump high flow 3" cat and Exhaust large front mount malpassi rising rate fuel pressure reg GTR fuel pump i think thats bout it for the mods to the engine what im thinking is becuase i have a standard computer and air flow meter and injectors some thing is not keepimg up and i dont know what it is what Kw rating do the injectors computer and AFM have like when do they max out or what causes them to max out i dont think injectors are my prob as they have the malpassi keeping them going but i could be wrong maybe the AFM and the computer as they are controlling the show is it possible that the turbo that i have on the car is to big and flowing to much air and not able to read it all?? as i have no clue what to do i do plan to upgrade to a Wolf 3d which will do away with the AFM anyway but for now i just want to know what the prob is mind you the engine is a RB20det with a big turbo and only 10psi what is the problem have others had this problem??? matt here is pic of turbo

  5. for sure man dont get us wrong i myself live the RB20 i like the underdog i like to prove people wrong and i like upsetting people when it comes to cars basically they are the same car but i prefer the rb20 basically its what started it all thats all i mean thats where the rb26 was platformed from but thats just me and to be honest i dont like the look of the R33 i love 32s though but then again i loike the look of the old silvias as well so ill stop ramblin the best way to judge is DRIVE ONE DRIVE ONE

  7. point taken and i know i just dont want to have to pay this guy twice you know what i mean id rather have it all dine before i get it done and save some money but anyway i think i have it covered on all fronts as far as common sense goes im sure that most of the engineering side is common sense safety procautions but anyway have since last night drppoed a coil pack so its ****ed have 6 more express bagged to my door this arvo so should be here tomorrow so now its just a waiting game going to get the car weighed at the weigh bridge for blueslip noise and EPA test next week so ill keep the everyone posted on how it all goes kinda like a diary so everyone knows what needs to be done and ill try and get some more info on other mods as well so stay tuned for more ill keep posting matt

  9. hey guys finally down to the last stages at the moment just want to make sure i done evrything correct and all is good here are the mods and things already done for enginerring PS i live in NSW 1---Ram pod ---sealed at the pointy end K&N apparantley this is ok for engineering as it has stoped the direct flame path??? 2---bigger turbo--- 3---custom ex manifold high mount--- fully heat wrapped is this ok?? 4---front mount--- 5---blow off --- not plumbed back will be removed for engineering and a plate bolted on instead 6---custom dump--- heat wraped 7--- 3inch ex--- hope fully passes DB check 8---rb20det install--- bigger type M r32 4 pot callipers 9--- nissan patroll brake master--- 10---ABS installed--- 11---Xtreme heavy duty clutch--- i think thats bout it as for engineering mods there are others but not effect engineering is there anything else i need to do or change to pass the engineers report hight at lowest point at the moment is 130mm bla bla please ask me questions bout the mods if you think it will help you help me matt

  11. but i dont have an auto so do i set the timing just at the normal idle?? plus my tacho is not correct has not been converted for the rb so im blind at the moment just cant afford to get another thing wrong thats all!!
  12. i can tbelieve that there are still people out there that think like that if you ask me sound like the old little man syndrome has the nerve to say that to [[d a n n y]] that he is a nerd behind the computer so what if he is thats anyway (not saying that you are) but mate take a look at yourself you are the gennuinne internet warrior mate you must be proud!!! i think there is no reason for any of those comments especially when they have nothing to do with the post created. this is a blatant attack on a member of the forum and people should not have to tolerate this garbage SKYDLIMIT should be wiped off the face off the planet not that anyone would care!!!
  13. ok here is my trouble the manual says that BTDC timing is 15 degrees at 650 rpm thats with air con on my truoble is that because i have fitted into silvia have removed air con to fit the thermo fans and custom manifold wastegate bla bla... what do i do the car wont idle lower cuz there is no air con so what is BTDC degrees at what RPM with out air con????
  14. i have a rb20det in a silvia what is the procedure with the timing ie.... i have the service manual it says to turn the idle screw on the computer all the way down then disconnect the AAC ( ? ) bla bla bla... can someone post a step by step guide and disregard the "where to put the timing light" ill sort that out?? remind you that i have a rb20 and at the moment have done nothing at all to the timing what so ever just the way that we put the engine and put a new timing belt on!!!!!!!
  15. OK SOO... I CUT THE END OFF A LEAD, PLUG ON CYLINDER ONE SPARKPLUG AND JAM THE OTHER END IN THE COIL PACK ????? IS THIS CORRECT
  16. there is no loop on my wiring harness only the one that has a ring terminal on it not the one that earths the ignighter
  17. no you see that is my problem if you know where forster is you know this is a problem mechanics here are old and basically dont want to touch it unless they have like a greggery's workshop manual for one if you know what i mean (ie.. they wont touch the imports) thats why this car has been built by me and a mate in the back yard form the ground up as for the black loop where bouts on the cam cover is it exactley as i have seen no loop on the loom what so ever and by cam cover are you talkin bout taper covers??? and is the loop supposed to be before or after the ignighter??? matt
  18. in the first post i already know how to use and adjust timing just not with coil on plug configeration and yes i know how to move the CAS to advance and retard the timong have already done that to get the car firing for the first time last night but i dont know where the sweet spot is thats why i need to know how to!!!!!!!!!! thanks anyway
  19. yeah i know its a IHI its not rebadged IHI made them in conjuction with borg warner in house at borg warner technoligies what you cant see is that on the turbo it has BORG WARNER/IHI here it shows
  20. i know this sounds like a stupid question but how do you adjust and check the timing on RB engines like i know that the CAS is what adjusts it and stuff but how do i check the timing i have a timing light that connects to the leads usually, and you all know that RBs dont have leads so how do i check the timing and where do i connect the timiing light too ect..... all help is appreciated thanks in advance matt
  21. check the wires going to all the coil packs are tight and conected properly check that the ignighter is earthed properly i had that prob last night checked these and it was loose connection on the coil packs im afraid thats all i can offer
  22. turbo is T3/T4 sorta anyway its slightly bigger than some T3/T4's ive seen its off a 6.5 ltr turbo diesal Chevy pick up (like the ambo's but a 98 model) manifold is cutom made to suit this turbo and fit in bay custom 3 inch dump intercooler Xtreme clutch heavy duty externall gate GTR pump malpassi fuel reg (not yet fitted) ummm oh shit its been so long i forget whats there but thats the main things anyway im hoping for anything over 200 kw ATW at the moment and ill be really happy not yet dynoed only got it to run last night so she a little piggy at the moment but its there and it kicks you in the arse hard when it hits boost but i have the engineer over by the end of week so should be on the road next week fingers crossed
  23. well like the engine has bee fully apart so just idled it for bout 30 min tto work it in gave it a little kick in the balls and it scared the shit out of me....lol only at like 5 pound very not used to it ive been driving a shit house VB commodore for the 10 months while i have been building this so i spose any thing would scare me umm just have to bleed up the brakes up a bit more and get the rest of the exhaust made (only 3 inch dump at the moment) then ill flaush the oil out tomorrow put tthe motul in her but yeah smiles from ear to ear i cant sleep noe im excitted its going for a check up tomorrow!! i made a promise to myself that after it is running that i would never touch anotherspanner for 6 months im sick of the shit so ill pay someone to have a good look over do a safety inspection then its off to the engineer to get it passsed then a blue slip then rego woohooo!!
  24. hey all i know that this is probably the wrong section to post this in but i have to, thanks to all out there that have helped mr over the last year with my problems, who have heard my whinges and complaints and all those that have posted in my threads after 12 long and painfull (ie...expansive) months tonight was the night at 10pm the bitch fired and ran like never before ( even went for a sneaky drive to maccas....lol unregistered and uninsured) i am so happy with the way it has turned out ( god i love boost) so to all that have helped thanks again and i hope to call on you in the future for your addvice matt P.S. l post some pics complete for all to see you all will be the first!!!! thanks for your time and patiance matt
