The car's registered as having a 25 in it, and from what I can find you are allowed to upgrade the engine if there was a version that came out with the same engine (M spec came factory rb25 manual) so I'm guessing it's gunna depend on whether the cop knows his shit about them but lets hope not aha.

RB25DE in R32 legality Hey guys, Purchasing a gts r32 this week (I'm on P's), it's had a rb25 out of an r33 swapped into it, and the car has been registered as having a 25 in it by vicroads. Just curious as to whether this may cause any issues because P plates. I've seen people mentioning stuff like "you can upgrade your engine IF it is to another engine that is a "factory option" in other words come standard in the car even if it was only standard in japan"
