Condolences to the family and friends of the people involved -
power fc all the way, good for big power with the drivability, if your worried about air flow meters, you can get map sensor models (cost u a bit more though,)
-
charlies motors, he is the bomb with power fc's his phone no is (07)38910799 there is nothing that he doesn't know about them. they are located in east brisbane, 63 wellington road i use and recomend him to every one. you wont be dissapointed

sounds like it'll go alright. good luck
-
hi boganrice and i just finnished fitting his Greddy plennum, you do have to lengthen the idle cont valve wiring. my other mate forgot that the vehicle he fitted the plennum to had previously had an aftermarket plennum.
-
also the t51 is a very efficent turbo considering it's size/ power rating. you should expect a bit of lag till around 3000-4500 rpm maybe more. good luck sounds like lots of fun.
-
shouldent be a problem at all, hks t51 comes in a few differant models so suiting one for an rb 30 should be easy. first you should decide what you want from your engine and select a model you need. hks t51 come in 2 modles the t51kai and t51spl. kai is good for 800ps and spl for 1000+. prices vary depending which model you choose. there are also the usual ball bearing and non-ball bearing choice. other than that all you need is a manifold/ headers and to up grade every thing else.(fuel system, ecu, modify intercooler plumbing, oil pump rods and pistons.) it would be wise to spend a few bucks as doing it on the cheap could lead to a lot of problems. you would need a fairly strong engine as that turbo/rb30 combo could generate a lot of power.

sorry guys no intensions of causing a shit fight, just trying to give yous some information that might help yous decide what yous want to do.
-
please don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with custom fabricated plennums.
-
you are correct about the sub zero plennum. the thing to be carefull of is fabricated plennums are usually constructed from sheet metals which are a hell of a lot thinner than a cast item such as the GReddy plennum. i,ve seen quite a few fabricated plennums and they all have been good (work well and look the part) but a few of them cracked, due to heat, pressure or because the welding process. (welding can make the materials britle hence cracked welds or beside the welds)
-
true, but zoom probably did the comparo on a stock car where a plennum upgrade would make bugger all differance. i'd like to see the differance between the two on a flow bench. A more even flow = cheap reliable power. like any thing else, if it's on it's own the results are much less noticable. you get bugger all out of an exhaust mod, but combined with other mods it makes a differance.

just check the wiring for your idle controll valve ect. you might have to lengthen them. mine have been lengthened, but a mate fitted one and recons you dont have to.
