  1. oh and SR's dont sound anywhere near as nice as the note that resonates from the free flowing exhaust of a RB engine.
  2. this goes to show, in my view anyway, that skylines come factory with alot of components that can cope a fair amount of abuse. big brakes and 5 stud wheels doesnt go astray either unlike our silvia/early model 180sx counterparts.
  3. i spoke to the previous owner of the car not long ago, and he said something along the lines of if you launch it in 1st and grab 2nd, more than likely that your gear box will blow. Think it happened to him twice. you wont hear this happening with a rb25 gearbox now would you?
  4. yeah i hate seeing your pride and joy being mistreated and saying 'oh, its nice. ill think about it'. btw had the clutch looked at by a pro and it is indeed a twin plate. no suprises there.
  5. one guy could not drive the car at all. he said that my clutch was not functioning properly. another guy stalled it at least 7 times!!! and even when he was able to just get the handle of it bunny hopped everytime into 2nd gear. needless to say, i dont need the sil80 to be coping that kind of treatment, as it would be me who would be paying for any cost occured as a result of any parts being stuffed.
  6. yeah i was passenger.
  7. 1/ too many tyre kickers, one person test drove it to the point in which one of the piping blew off - due to too much boost. not impressed was the least on my mind. 2/ one of my bro's is using it more frequently then before so it serves a purpose now and not just sitting in the shed like it did before uncomfortable from your perspective is understandable, you take LONG drives indeed.
  8. man, this event was like last weekend and the thread is still going on. wish i took a sickie and attended now.
  9. are the blitz wheels a set of 4 or only a pair, if set of 4 would you send to adelaide and if so could you find out postage. much appreciated.
  10. only thing that is holding me back from buying them is that you need to modify your original rails to the universal one's. i sure know i cant do it, might have to give pete a buzz. oh that the head clearance of the seat itself. someone here on sau bought and installed a pair in his line, yet to see pics of it though. link to bride copies from justjap http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=86640
  11. surprisingly the t25g is in prestine condition, i think the smokey idle was caused by 1/bad batch of fuel/s 2/incorrect plugs. im currently running the t28 at 1bar, same as what i was running on the t25g. but with the new turbs, OMFG is all i have to say. going way off topic, should talk this kind of jibberish in wasteland.
  12. anyone here comtemplated getting the bride copies (seats) from just jap. my seat is wearing out on the drivers side and although i dont mind getting a pair would only really require one. in saying this, would like to know if anyone's seats (driver or passenger) is wearing out and thus dont mind going halfs in a pair with me....or not.
  13. would be useful as a flamethrower wont you agree? seriously though, that looks awesome. definately upload some vids of its in action.
  14. hey sam, your status is offline. have you noticed that? yeah sil80 is fun - as you would know haha. its not for sale anymore, hence no link to its in my signature. plus i now have a t28bb on it =D
  15. alternator/starter motor is definately on its way out thus if dies on me again - again b/c it happen to me one night, then that would make the day no fun for me at all. having said that, its more then likely then ill take it. guy's place isnt far from my house, can always roll it home
  16. if your shitting with them Leo, you can always lend them to me to install in mine...
  17. I hope so too Sam or else it will be all RB's + 1 noisy SR engine.
  18. this is great and all but in regards to the bbq, what is everyone bringing?? im getting about 2 - 3 kgs of marinated chicken wings which i believe should be plenty for everyone.
  19. fair enough reply.
  20. my ebc is mounted on my steering column with velcro. i must be a on a 'budget' as well.
  21. nice looking gauges black_33 - looks the biz, although at $800 they better be. as for the JustJap autogauge package variant, they also look good. having a 'smoked' appearance though i dont know if it needs your parkers/headlights on during the day to see. a bit off topic i know.
  22. your original thread stated that those who missed it will get a chance to purchase in another group buy in following month before christmas, now is this the case or is their still a few avaliable in the batch thats arriving now?
