Hey guys, what is the button above the head light switch below the window demister switch on R32s. It looks like a fog light button but I don't have any and haven't seen any with fog lights, anyone know? cheers, sorry for a stupid question.

mate, i've yet to see a silver 2 door GTST. Ive only ever seen 4 doors, the rest were GTRs.

on the same note, anyone know where these can be bought new? I think most R32 owners are in a similar situation?

agreed, I also shipped mine before the approval. I had to pay about 300 in storage fees. not worth it and there's a bit of a back log of approvals due to the chaos surrounding the changes proposed to the 15 year old rule......

wrong section dude! However do the HICAS diagnostic test. start the car, turn the steering wheel 45 degrees left and right 5 times or more then stamp the brake pedal 5 times. the HICAS light will come on and you follow the flashes. Go to the tech section and it will give you the fault listings for the HICAS shit.

yeah WA is the last state I think that they are legal to own and use. I have a Bel STi, its pretty good only cost 200 second hand. Buy used they dive bomb in price.

UPDATE: **** man, this is the dumbest thing known to man. I took the steering wheel surround apart, cleaned the bearings out and re packed them with grease. Steering is fine now, no return to centre problems..... Thanks heaps dude, you're a champ. thank god it wasn't the pump and rack!!!

No its not that hard at all, its more the fact of it not self centreing very well. The pit guy said it was too hard, I reckon its just a characteristic of the car, its not an Excel!! he he It doesn't feel much harder then my S13s I've had...... As far as self centreing goes, it doesn't come back fast enough for they're liking. If that's just how the car is though how am i to convince them? STUPID QUESTION!: I've just had a look at the bearings behind the steering wheel and they're dry as with little bits of metal in there! Could that have an affect?

yeah the speedo does work however it flickers a little at low speed and after 100 or so it sometimes sticks, then jumps to what its supposed to be. Is the speed sensor the little key thing that goes into the gear box? I took it out yesterday and cleaned it but its still the same..... reckon this could be the problem? Trouble is, no-one seems to know much about HICAS. my theory was that maybe the car thinks I'm going faster then I am so the steering is tightening up to compensate..... Maybe I should try another speed sensor? ummm what does it look like and where is the speed sensor?

yeah man no worries. I did the Hicas test today and sensors 5-9 came back dodgy. I do have a Tomei lock kit so this could be the cause. On another note, normally on a car with power steering when you turn full lock the pump makes a racket. Mine hardly makes any noise so Im thinkin its pumping days are over.... Is it normal for the Power steering system to pulse during the Hicas test?

Hey guys, my car failed the pits today cause the bloke reckons the steering is too heavy and doesnt't return to centre fast enough. It has a Tomei hicas lock kit but apparently this shouldn't affect the weight of the steering. Any Ideas? cheers!

cheers dude, its been a mini nightmare with this thing. I guess a 15 year old car wouldn't be perfect! so far, new front discs, new pads, bushes, coil packs etc ah geez.... I love it though, the RB20 is soooooo much nicer then the SR.....

nah these two are on the drivers side. no worries, I guess everythings okay, must be a knackered pump and or rack. I can get both for $250 so I may as well change both..... thanks a lot mate, helped heaps. It failed pits today for this one reason so as soon as I can get it fixed I can actually drive it!! yay! he he

yeah the small grey one is the one I re-connected. I have two others right next to them. The one on the strut tower, small, and a big one hanging off the harness next to the fuse box.

yeah the one near the pump is the one I re-connected. It made no difference. The other two don't have anything connected to them... I do have a fuse missing, its labelled "INHIBIT" This supposed to be blank? thanks heaps for this mate.
