How much is the Nissan slop and is it any good?
I've got Helix Ultra in mine....seems cool.
-
ditto, mine does this from 80 onwards or over 100 on trailing throttle....
-
I think you have to drive to Bunbury for Barts deal..... thats like $100 in fuel
-
Hey guys,
Mine like some others it torn in the corner from years of exposure. Apparently Nissan want something like $300 for the seal. Do spectrum rubber in NSW make a replacement or has someone found another solution apart from Nissan?
cheers!
-
Are the bosch ones like the Nissan/Splitfire ones or like a lead/distributor sorta setup?
-
i would sell the 32 and buy a real 32, a 32 GTR .
.
there is no REAL R32. They're two different cars for two different purposes.
One is a factory supercar, the other a turbo grand tourer.
Same as saying, don't get a rex, get a REAL Wrx a STI.
-
Bingo, WRXs are fast, they are also 4 times the price of mine and can't hang it out.
2 deciding factorts for me.
-
Sounds like the shop are talking shit about the oil pressure. THe R32 guages are notoriously bad. How did they "test" it to see if its was working properly?
Mine works one day then sits on zero the next......6 months later....
-
I'd like to see the 0-100 times if they weren't revd to 6k and slungshot off the line.
Bottom line - they feel very flat at low revs but are definately good cars if you get into it a bit. They don't have the torque of a skyline though.
they're also missing 2 cylinders and half a litre of capacity.
They're apples and oranges really, better to compare the rex to a S13.
Whoever said rexes have short gears is on the take! They're pretty bloody high geared actually. The reason it won't pull from 60KPh in 4th is because it'll be around 1500RPM.
My mates WRX turns 2400RPM at 100 in 5th as opposed to my R32 which is almost at 3K at the same speed. I also know for a fact the RB20DET will not out accellerate a WRX at 60 in 4th as I've tried it.
If ever a car needs revs its the RB20.....
-
I've had mine to 8K and it still doesn't cut, not risking taking it any further!
Stock ECU..... does go past 180 though......well past.....
-
Yeah sounds about right.....
-
On the same subject has anyone seen or used the AEM setup advertised in HPI occasionly? It has a plug for the ignitor to connect to and then it used leads like an ordinary setup. It claims superior performance to OEM coilpacks.
Anyone know the cost or had any experience with it? I imagine from the sounds of it the Bosch is a similar setup?
-
You can boost 32s much more as they are the strongest turbo in the Skyline range.
Also there ECUs will run more boost (obviously running rich as all Nissans do)
Go the 32s lol
Is this a fact or just a guess? Don't forget they're also the oldest....
I'm not game enough to test mine, 11PSI will do.... lol
-
yes nissan will have them.
from memory, the passenger side ac vent is 45$, middle one is 85$
you can also get the brand new steering wheel etc
nissan are very reasonable on there prices.
WHAT? you're not serious? $900 for a drivers window?
-
Mine don't arc or jump Silicon is your friend...... as is gaffa tape, cable ties etc
-
Hey guys,
anyone got a newish stocky battery they don't want?
let me know, the Bosch in mine is phuct.....
Something cheap please!
cheers!

Guys,
I went against the trend here and used Roof/Tile/Gutter silicon. Its rated to 150 degrees C and I covered the entire pack in a thick coat leaving ony the plug clear.
I also gapped my plugs to 0.8mm since they were at 1.1mm. Seems fine so far but early days yet.... Update in a few weeks.
PS: Be careful when you put the coil pack bracket back in (the metal strip that hold 3 packs) it goes in a certain way. It even says UP and Front or rear on it. I missed it and almost cracked my coil packs whoops..... just a heads up!
-
I gapped my BCPR6ES-11s down to 0.8mm. No wonder it was backfiring They were still at 1.1mm. Backfire fixed. ALso coated my coilpacks in roof sealant. Works as good as Araldite, temp safe to 150 degrees C and is only 7 bucks.
Car is running mint (touch wood )
-
Mine is still running fine, it was holding perfect boost at 13PSI for 2 weeks, maybe varying half a pound.... Are you sure its installed right?
Too bad the car wasn't up to that boost and decided to backfire like a whore....
Back to 11PSI

Seriously guys, you need to own/drive both cars to make a fair comparison.
I can tell you stock for stock,a GC8 WRX (Old shape) will kill a GTS-T. At high speeds the WRX shape becomes wind resistant big time so a GTS-t will probably win from 140+. Up to there though there is no chance.
Power means nothing, WRXs have good bottom end and punchy little turbos. 0-100 the GTS doesn't have a chance..... Accept it and move on.
This is providing the driver knows how to handle the car. Give a rex 3K feed in the clutch quickly and it cuts. Get it wrong and its over.
-
Heaps if its from Nissan. THey quoted me $850 for a S13 drivers window....
-
Nah, throttle body, AAC and AR have all been cleaned, didn't make SFA difference. Gonna try the plugs tomorrow, I think they're 1.1mm in there
woops
-
Probably cracked/stuffed coil or six. This is the single most common problem with these cars I think. I have a similar problem at the moment....
Try gapping the plugs to 0.8mm instead of 1.1mm. SUpposed to cure it as long as the coils aRE okay.

Selling my Blitz Super Sound BOV, with adapter and pipe to suit stock intercooler RB20DET. R32/cefiro (I think) its off my R32... In very good nick, works perfectly.

Jacking up cars with low body kits??

On the same note. When I jack up my r32, whereever I jack it, it crumples slightly! I do it on the factory jacking spots and it creases.
It scares me, never had any problems with the S13 like this, used chassis rails and everything for that...
any ideas? ITs not rust related from the look of it.
