  4. mine starts idleing like that as the alarm imobilisers kick in. i have one of those brant pin pad alarms. it has a highjack setting. once i get in the car, start it, close the door and put my seat belt on its enabled. so once any door is opened and my seatbelt in un-buckled after 40 secs or so it starts beeping at me and then the car cuts out can be a pain sometimes...took me ages to work out when i first got the car...even took it to an auto elec and he didnt know.

  7. the picture isnt really the issue here, the text is. as stomper also mentions, ad is for a bolt on kit to suit the specific car. his spacer was also not included and studs were incorrect. This is false advertisment. as for the 3071r specs on the site, they are incorrect. as i wanted the .60 comp and .82 ar i should have chosen the 3076r, which is the correct specs and on their site these are the specs also listed for the 3071r I will speak to them about this so they can correct the site. Possibly they are under the impression that the spacer is being supplied, or should be. Obviously it isnt. this could be miscommunication from their supplier. as you said elite racing, money is pretty much spot on for what i did receive. thanks for your imput here guys.
  8. am happy with the car as it is now. as smell mentions, its more about not receiving what was advertised. i did my reasearch and wanted exactly what was advertised. it is false advertisment in my view.
  9. didnt see it before install. but doubt it. my guess is that they are showing the 3076R instead which has the 60 comp housing and optional surge housing
  10. thanks again guys. i am actually happy with the power and performance of the turbo... below is the site http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.p...9ij7uter43vvdj6 didnt come with the silicone reducer etc... which i am fine with. but think it should at least state "misc parts may be required to fit" spacer is listed, but wasnt supplied, cost me another $30 for part + delivery. then some labor to grind. water line and oil line was supplied, but required an adapter for some reason, cost me an extra $30 studs were supplied, but didnt fit. cost me an extra $45 also required an elbow and as mentioned, the tuner had to re-jig the alignment...or something like that. so a few extra $ and hours in labor i had to fork out for. would i be correct in saying that the site is incorrect? false advertisment

I am just concerned that i have not been provided with what i ordered/paid for. so, my turbo is a .50 compressor, turbine 700382-003. and looking at the rear it has "sonic" written on it. looking at the sonicperformance site, they state they have a .64 turbine housing. and on the site from which i ordered it, the specs below differ. Compressor Housing A/R -: 0.60a/r Compressor Inlet -: 4" Turbine Housing A/R -: 0.82a/r Turbine Hsg. Attachments: Inlet: Standard 4-bolt T3 flange Turbine Hsg.   12. Guys, After being excited about my new turbo purchase...i am quite disappointed. Would appreciate any advise. In short, This is what i purchased as advertised. (from a supplier who ordered from another supplier i believe) Garrett GT3071R RB25DET T3 Bolt-on Turbocharger 500hp, Dual Ball Bearing Kit - 0.82a/r Horsepower: 500hp Compressor Housing A/R -: 0.60a/r Compressor Inlet -: 4" Turbine Housing A/R -: 0.82a/r Turbine Hsg. Attachments: Inlet: Standard 4-bolt T3 flange Turbine Hsg. Attachments: Outlet: Nissan 6-Bolt Oil Inlet - : Inverted Flare 7/16-24 thread Oil Drain - : Standard 2-bolt T3 flange Bearing Type: Dual Ball Bearing Cooling: Water Cooled Centre Wastegate: Integrated Wastegate Includes: 1x Garrett GT3071R RB25DET Turbocharger, complete High Nickel Content Cast Iron Nissan Style Turbine Housing with Internal Wastegate and actuator. Fitting Kit Includes: Oil Drain, Oil Lines, Water Lines, Turbo Gaskets, Spacer, Studs, Nuts. Turbo was delivered direct to my tuner, who had spent approx 9 hours labor to install, and needed to purchase the following. 4x studs - apparently the ones provided were not long enough or universal instead of metric. 10m spacer as it was not included. An earls adaptor for the water or oil line i believe. (Lines were provided with the kit) 2x turbo hoses and clamps also something about re-aligning the compressor housing??? i think. did mention he is surprised they were not using jigs Picked up my car today after not having it for 8 days or so. car is making 243kw@tw on 14psi I looked at the new turbo, and can see the following. compressor housing .50 A/R garret ID tag: GT2835 - 700382-003 researching the above, it is the cropped version? So all up, i have paid for a product i was not delivered with, and spent many extra $ to make it bolt on. PS. my tuner was not aware of the turbo being delivered, he only knew one was turning up and needed to be installed. Anyone else had an experience like this and what have you done about it? or, what would you do in this case?

Anyone reading this topic want to also share their experiences on the "bolt on kits"? as above, i noted that i purchased a Garret 3071R kit. got it from a shop in sydney who i think may have ordered it from SA (I could be wrong) according to my tuner the kit was incorrect with parts missing. The spacer was not included. cost me an extra $30 organise one locally. No elbow for the comp housing, not sure if this was to be included though. studs provided were also imperial, not metric. also something with either the water or oil line not being the correct size or length. anyone else know or come across these issues?
  14. i purchased a gt3071r kit with .82 rear housing, will be installed tomorrow. apparently a complete bolt on kit...waterlines, spacer etc...

  16. Wired up my z32 afm with Tomei plug today. As per nismo_freek, my 1996 S2 signal wire was orange & blue instead of orange and black. also joined wire C & D to ground.
  17. Great DYI mate Installed my Tomei 555cc today which replaced the std R33 GTST injectors. I didnt remove the AAC, didnt get in the way at all for me. nor did the FMIC piping. For cracking the injector cap screws i used multi grips. To get the injector out of the rail i used a flat head screw driver and slipped it under the injector plug then twisted the driver to lever it out. when i changed the power fc injector config, i used the following. Old Injector CC / New injector CC x 120 = 82 my power fc was configured at 120% for each injector...not sure why it was set like this but the above achieved a nice idle. i did actually test 66% based on the x100 calculation also...and idle went to hell...
