Guys we can chill a bit, it's not going to make mainstream news. I was going past the car in my skyline and was getting big greasers from the cops when i noticed the car upside down in the property. Recognised the lights straight away. Had my camera after coming back from a job, so got some pictures. Look I don't meant to be too harsh, but... you fu$%ed up. I've F#@$ed up too, my mates have fuc#$d up, shit happens. Just a shame it was done in a 400kw skyline. EG, my mate bounced his 200rwkw S13 off the wall of a bridge, into a pole in a carpark, and then into a parked bus. Another mate rear-ended someone at 140ks dragging a skyline in a similar-specced silvia. Difference is, you didn't hurt anyone and everyone got out OK... not like my mate who won't have his license for a f**king long time and is looking at sharing a cell with Bubba and looking at never being constipated again. The above scenario may be slightly embellished but the fact remains - some do some don't. Experience driving a 400kw GTR doesn't come from driving it once a week. RIP One unique GTR

Got some other pictures,, and i would say that the car we are looking at is 100% the one. Has the cannon muffler, bumper etc. Maybe someone taking for a test drive for buying it? Got the number plate if someone wants to confirm.

Crash happened on the corner of William st and New south head rd in double bay, no one hurt or injured (i think). Happened around 3pm Today 3/10/06 Anybody know him? GTR btw He went into the Wollahra Kindergarten, don't think any other cars were involved.

Anybody clean out the water and oil piping going to and around turbos? Whats the best way, soak them in something? take them somewhere? Took the other turbo out today,, seams like it is in ok condition but havn't taken it apart. Getting excited about getting somewhere again.

Don't know about performance stuff, i install that myself but for the usual maintainance Auto Active in Artarmon, there is a good Auto electrition next to bunnings as well. You should be able to find equally good people in Brookvale which is closer to you. Upgrades,,,,, hmmmmm i think south side is better and cheaper for that, just have to be more thorough in your serch. Do a search on workshops and peoples previous comments on them. hope that helps a little.

I rang BD4's and you can buy GT2530s again but only in twos for GTR's and 300z. No spare parts though. HKS wasn't making them for a year, but started again.

Thanks Paul i took the turbo there today, also to garrett. They took the turbo appart and found that the bearing had broken and there had been heaps of heat thought the turbo. Funny for two drives under two km. So not sure if it's because it was a fake reconditioned turbo (from Hongkong) or that there was a small coolent leak on the line running to turbos that didn't amount to much. Leak may have caused a air pocket not letting coolent though enough. There was coolent and oil going into the turbos. Weather it was enought i don't know. Anybody know how to check cooling into turbos?

yep hence the no return! Well i can attempt to return but trouble + time - money saved = not worth it. So my problem still remains, i want to just get my project on the road. How to fix, properly reco, can the bearings be replaced?

Hey all i had topic running on stange turbo noise before. Taken my turbo out which has only been in since recondition for two drives. Found major shaft play, so much so that it's hitting both sides of the turbo with the fan. Looks like the bearing on the compressor side has gone. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how the f$#K can this happen after newly reconditioned? Checked OIL and WATER and all where working perfectly. Can this happen via impact, from postage? Has this happen to anybody else? Had you done any modifications to turbo? There is no way i can get this on warranty since they came from hongkong so i need options. Where can i get another cartrage, core for turbo? GT2530 are not made anymore but does Garrett suppy these still? appreciate any advice. If anybody wants me to put up sound recording of broken shaft in engine just say.

I thought it might be just the turbos seating themselves or something like that. The mechanic told me it was an unusual noise and i would have thought he would have know what one would sound like, normal or abnormal. I will record the noise and also take it for a decent run on the weekend and see if noise reduces or other suggestions come up.

No it doesn't sounds smooth enough just to be normal bearings slowing down sound. The only way i can describe it is like rollablades when they get a bit of dirt in the bearings and don't sound smooth. My mechanic said that it could be that the housing was worped from over heating. I wouldn't think this would be true because it doesn't sound like compressore wheel is hitting the side (what i would think it would sound like) also the compressor wheel doesn't seam to slow down at any rate to be concerned about. I havn't taken the car for a decent drive so maybe the bearing havn't had a propper soak in oil since they were installed? Other than that does anybody notice noise from their turbos (Non standard). Later tonight i will be able to write and describe it better, just at work now and doing this on the side lol..... might even record the noise (NOD)

GT2530 HKS ball bearing turbos have a strange noise coming from front turbo that sounds like bearing is loose. These turbos are reconditioned so they shouldn't have any problems and were just installed them this month. You don't notice the noise when the car is running but when you turn off the engine then you can hear the turbos spooling down you hear the noise. There is obviously no drag on the turbine though because it seams to spin for 40 seconds after engine has stopped. Any advise would be helpfull.

Didn't hurt too much,, got the parts when i was in Hong Kong and then shipped them over. As for the licence TWO DAYS!!!! woohooo

Finally getting back on the road. Have just replaced my clutch and turbos. Added a Power FC and HKS Boost controller, dump pipes, Catalytic converter, waste gate, heat wrap, spark plugs, fuel regulator, radiator cap (LOL), Manifolds. All upgraded but i will spare you the details! I didn't have any help from friends so thankyou skylinesAustralia and all those involved for an endless supply of information and help. I can't wait for when I can go for my first cruise. Just have to get my licence back now LOL.

Usually sway both ways a few times then the hicas kicks in and my arse goes limp. Have a feeling that i'm just going to have to rip it out, should save a few kg's, also don't have to fix that light. Anybody know a good DIY forum to start getting it out, also good lock bars???? thanks for your help guys.

Just thought i would grumble though this question on my mind. I love the idea of hicas, but only when it works. My hicas light comes on after traveling a long distance 150km, i don't know why(don't really care because i only do that once in a blue moon). BUT When i sway the car (left right etc) the whole rear end seams to go limp like the bushes have droped out. If i straighten out for a bit, it corrects itself. So my questions for those of you who got though the boring part. #1 Firstly is limp end normal hicas traveling highway speeds or is it a sympton of the light. (havn't tested it before the light comes on). I ask this because i want to get it on the track. #2 When working is hicas suitable for circut (speeds able highway etc). As i said before i love the idea of hicas but maybe it's only ment for -100 speeds. Scares the shit out of me, especially when it sways at high speed while and the arse of the car is crabbing behind me then i hit the breaks because i think the wheels have fallen off and crabbing is accentuated so i feel like my arse is traveling faster than my front lol lol PS not as bad as it sounds but when the car is pushed into swaying seams to be a computer error where it counteracts drivers steering with hicas.
