  1. Plazaman plenum $1000

    Throttlebody $250 - $500

    6boost exhaust manifold $1100

    Garrett GT3082 0.86 rear $1550

    Wastegate $400 - $800

    Intercooler $300 - $1200

    ECU $1500 - $2500

    Intank pump $200

    Injectors $1200

    Adj reg $250

Other bits and piece/tuning/labour etc $2000

This is a rough estimate depending on if you want to go 'brand' products or chinese-made generic......

I ran up a receipt log of $15000 when I hit 300rwkw and approx $30000 (and climbing) to the current 430rwkw with the 3 litre hybrid donk. Mind you this is cheap as I did a lot of the work myself, it would be a lot more if you calculate in the labour costs what a lot of these workshops charge.

Have fun with the addiction. Just remember 'Economy' and 'Skyline' dont appear in the same sentence !

  2. When I first got my stock-as-a-rock S2 R33 in 2004, I boosted it up to 14psi, thrashed the daylights out of it as I was looking really hard for an excuse to fit the newly built forged RB25/30 that was in the shed waiting to go in, she lasted about 4 months (which was 3 months and 2 weeks longer than I expected it to last) before the turbine wheel snapped off clean.....enough said.

  3. For $300-$400 it'll be china special HID's in there anyhow. I just picked up my china special HID for ~$200 :P

I dont expect it to last forever though but if i get 5 years ill be happy for the money spent.

You cant buy Philips (and other brands with decent warranty etc etc) for less than around $800-$1000 if memory servers me correct.

I think some people are simply sick of having the same headlights as every other Skyline on the road....I know I am...and wouldnt mind a change to something a little different, HID or not...if someone wants to stick a thousand bucks worth of Philips goodness into them, then good luck to them, but the objective here is a different appearence to the boring factory look.

  4. how did you come to that conclusion of what nationality they were???

I know enough of them to tell the difference between a Leb and a Turk, not that I have a problem with either of them consider some of my best friends are Lebs and goat lovers...They were young little punks but they knew what they were doing....minimal damage to the car....They wanted to take it.

  5. Mate, I'm not asking for a GTR Xenon lights. I'm asking if what you're offering come with projector or have that option.

Look at that rex photo you've attached and you'll find the centre light has a round globe, thats call a projector. Xenon or HID are just the bulb (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) and projector is that globe thingy. What the globe does is focus your light instead of letting it disperse.

Didnt I say its gonna be similar to the Rexie ones I have pictured above ? Just imagine that exact configuration but in the shape of a series 2 GTS25T version - that's the design Im proposing to him.

  6. if they want to just "get in" they can just smash the window ..easier and quicker too. This is where alarms and immobilisers come in handy.

Smashing windows make noise and cause attention.

On this particular day, I parked the car at Parramatta's Westfield carpark on level 5, went down stairs for not even 5 minutes, came back up and found my car door semi-opened....which I found unusual as we all know, these cars lock themselves after 60 or so seconds.....I looked inside and they got as far as unscrewing my steering column cover and my key barrel dangling....another 2 minutes and it wouldve been gone. I looked around and saw 5 lebanese kids (probably from Auburn) watching me in a hatchback all with a 'damn ! spewin !' look on their faces. I got their number plate just as they drove off.

I reported this to the cops, they came and finger printed the car and tells me that I was extremely fortunate as there has been a string of these imports stolen from that very carpark in recent weeks. Oh yeah, that number plate was stolen as expected.

So yeah, I went straight out and spent $600 on an pager alarm system the very next day.

  7. Yeah, THANKS for broadcasting to the world how to break into my car!! Good piece of anti-theft info there.

This is out of good faith due to my own personal close-call, this happened to me 3 weeks after I picked up my R33 - before I had a chance to install an alarm etc.... Im sure there are other Skyline owners on here that wouldve appreciated this advice and went straight out to do something about it.

If you have the money to drive a Skyline, then there is no excuse not having an alarm and if you have an alarm then you shouldnt have a thing to worry about..... But then again, there's always that ungrateful clown that does nothing but bitch like a woman.

  8. Hi,

Just wondering if anybody knows the actual size of the original factory fuel lines used in the R33 ? Im referring to the black lines used to link the fuel filter to the fuel rail and also the pressure regulator back to the return line. I've picked up a second R33 that I want to return to factory spec.....

If I want to replace it with some EARLS SUPERSTOCK HOSE, what size would I use ? the 4AN (6.35mm ID) or the 6AN (9.65mm ID) ? Or do I have a better option ?

    Thanks

  9. Yep, if you want to buy chinese-made items that warp after a couple of laps on the track than go ahead. The mould I make mine with was originally taken from the ones you see on Ebay, but I pop mine out with 3 layers of carbon fabrics (which isnt cheap), not just one layer with fibreglass underneath. The ones I have contain absolutely no fibreglass at all that can deform under high tempertures.

If you wanna waste your money on chinese made crap - feel free, but I was disappointed with the quality of the one I purchased from them, that's why I ended up making my own mould.

  10. Great, it looks promising, still need more response tho....spread the word guys.

I dunno about you fellas, but personally, I refuse to pay $1500+ for a set of GTR Xenon lights considering theyre no good to me unless I change the bonnet on my series 2 GTS25T, besides, the series 2 has a more aggressive looking shaped lights than the series 1 or the GTR anyways, it'd be like a down-grade in terms of shape and styling going from a series 2 to a GTR. Plus paying $1200 for a set of replacement OEM lights from Nissan is out of the question.

I reckon between $400 to $500 for a pair of complete replacement bolt-in units is a bargain considering the other options available to us.....Its long over dued.....I dont know why nobody else has done it already seeing the number of Skylines on our roads today.....It's so common it's almost like a Japanese Commodore !

Will keep you guys up todate.

  11. does this apply to R34's as well ?? I have taken the door trims off more than once before but I don't recall seeing a "anti carjack switch". Is that the switch that locks/unlocks both doors when you push it? Will leaving it disconnected cause any problems with existing alarm etc ?

There should 4 switches on the drivers door handle, two for left/right windows up/down, one to isolate all functions and the last one is that switch that remotely locks and unlocks the passenger door - THAT is the switch we're referring to.

  12. Cool! Is this the advertising thread?

I've got a truckload of stuff I want to sell. Or can I piggy back off the headlight one?

Or should we pay the trader fee like the traders have to?

As a matter of fact, Im not a trader, just someone that's come across some good things and wish to share it with my fellow Skyline owners at a good price.... I have email / correspondence between the suppliers and myself to prove this....But why should I have to justify myself to a nobody like you ?

By the way, these manifolds are from Kelway and the headlights are being developed by a company in NZ. You can try to get them individually and see if they'd do it for you at the bulk price. If these conditions dont qualify them as group-buys then I dont know what does

  13. I once caught a thief in the act of breaking into my R33 and this is how they do it.....

    1) They wedge something in between the drivers door glass and the door jam - as there is no pillar surrounding the door glass, it warps slightly and leaves a gap.

    2) They stick a thin long rod down through the gap to the anti-carjack switch located on the switch panel on the driver's door to unlock the passenger door.

    3) They open and enter the vehicle via the passenger door.

    4) Your life comes to a complete stand-still when you return to where your Skyline once parked.

SOLUTION - Open up the door trim to access the back of the switch panel on the driver's door and disconnect that anti-carjack switch - that useless piece of crap..... See ? Nissan isnt perfect.

  14. any chance of getting rocer covers as well

if so i would be interested in them and the front cover ( i already have a coil pack cover )

    cheers

There is no carbon rocker covers available for the RB engine, however, there is something I can suggest. How about applying genuine carbon fabrics over the top of your factory aluminium covers ? What you do is, strip the covers back to bare aluminium, then apply epoxy resins over the top, lay the carbon fabrics and seal it with more epoxy. If its done correctly, you will end up with carbon fibre rocker covers ! This technique is called 'wet carbon' and is commonly used on showcars (doors, roofs etc) where it is way too expensive to use traditional 'dry carbon'. You could either use epoxy resins or even 2pak clear as a top coat to seal it, you might need to do a bit of fine grade wet/dry rubbing in between coats to get that glossy appearance, but it will be all worth it.

If you need some carbon fibre fabrics, I can help there too, even tho its about $100 for 1m x 1m.

    Hi all,

I am about to place an order with REX KELWAY on a set of high mount steampipe manifold for my RB engine and I want to see if anybody else is interested as well. Check out the photos, these are made of steampipe and CNC cut flanges. Beautifully presented and just as good, if not better than 6boost and Extreme.

    RB20/25 high mount with/out external gate outlet - $890.

Other turbo / wastegate flange combinations available.

Let me know before the end of July '09 if interested. You can message me here or [email protected]

    Thanks

  16. How much will it cost?

The WRX ones you see in the photos sales for about $350 - $400 a pair, so I cant imagine the Skyline ones being too much more than this. I will however have to confirm on this. Taking into account that a pair of genuine NISSAN series 2 R33 items are about $1200, a pair of aftermarket Angeleyes for $400 is bloody cheap.

Just remember, nothing is definite yet, Im only trying to find out if it's a safe bet investing $15000 in a set of moulds for these lights, no good if nobody wants them. I will keep you up to date.

    Thanks

  17. There is a developer I know that is willing to invest and setup the moulds for the long awaited aftermarket Angel-eye style headlights for the series 2 R33 GTS25T Skyline - I have been hounding him for over 3 years now it seems he is willing to come through for us !!!

It is an expensive investment to setup, we need to know there will be enough demand to justify this. That is why Im after the expressions of interest from all R33 owners that are keen so we can decide if it's a 'go ahead' or not.

It is only the series 2 that is currently being developed as it's a much better looking version plus a lot of series 1 owners upgrade to this shape anyways, however, if there is enough demand from GTR owners, we might consider doing the series 1 / GTR version as well.

Please note that it is the entire headlight assemblies we're talking about here and not just some cheap add-on neon-light rings such as the ones commonly seen on Ebay for the R34.

All interested please message me here or email me at [email protected]

Below is a photo of similar headlights for a WRX just to give you an idea how they will look.

    Thanks.

  19. Hey guys,

Just wondering, I was given a brand new Nismo 300km/hr speedo module for my R33 which is a wicked score, but there is one catch - its for an automatic vehicle. Automatics have a different final drive ratio compared to a manual vehicle, I think it would be out by a small margain.

Now, Im wondering if anybody would know how to fix this problem ?

    Thanks in advance.
