  1. Hey guys, I changed my oem fuel pump on my R33 GTR with an AEM 50-1000 unit. The pump is priming (can hear it, even took it out wired so make sure) but it isn't drawing fuel. It is getting a signal from the relay in the boot to run when trying to start but it simply isn't drawing fuel even though I can feel the pump trying. Everything electrically seems to line up and is wired correctly - my battery voltage is a bit low, sitting at around 12V but the pump should be able to draw at 8V. Any thoughts? I'm really just out of ideas here, Ive checked nearly everything and the only thing I can think of is the pump is bad. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for all of the helpful responses guys. When setting up a wastegate, is the rule of thumb to have it set to within 5psi of the boost you're running? For example, if i'm running 23psi, should I set the spring preload to 18psi? I may just talk to my tuner and see what he recommends since it's a pain in the ass to access low mount twins lol
  3. Based out of Canada, looking for a used equal length front pipe for an r33 gtr! I'm going to a single setup next year so I don't feel like buying new! Looking for something fair priced and with shipping to Canada!
  4. Hey guys, I have a pair of stock rebuilt R33 GTR turbos with steel wheels (I'm planning on going to a single turbo precision 6266 setup next year; so no twin upgrade recommendations); I'm curious about the internal wastegate spring pressure on stock turbos? I am planning on running about 1.4-1.5bar on these rebuilt turbos until I get all of my single turbo bits and wondering if i'd need to size up the springs? Would I also need to drill out the oil supply a bit? Has anyone done this before and have any recommendations? I heard the springs max out at about 15psi; just wanted some clarification on how to proceed before I put the turbos back into the car for the summer. Thanks guys!
  5. Sorry about that, I was definitely nervous and anxious; I tend to get that way when something could be horrible. I figured it wasn't a bearing either because it doesn't get louder or worse the more I rev it. On cold start it doesn't happen (from what I can hear), i'm going to have a deep dive next weekend and see if I can find the issue. Thanks for the reply Duncan!! I really appreciate it.
  6. Hey guys, My 33 GTR is making a weird rattling noise after driving it for a while. It tends to go away after you shut the car off and start it back up again, it sounds like something is loose and rattling around somewhere on the passenger side under the intake piping for the turbos. It doesn't get louder the more you rev the car, if anything it goes away. I'm going to drain the oil here shortly and have a look for any metal shavings. Turbos are stock to my knowledge, they were going to get changed out this winter as well as the basic oil restrictor mods, etc..I just got the car with intention of doing a restoration over the next few years. What are your thoughts? Is this going to need a rebuild right away?
