Skyline R34 GT-T or R33 GT-R
97Sky replied to alex1991s's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Sorry mate wasnt my intention to treat you like a kid just dont want to hear another statistic on the road. But in truth it would probably be better to learn in something you dont care if you scratch crash etc. Then when your comfortable pick yourself up something nice. -

Yeah but the queston you asked was"what should I get an R34 GT-T or R33 GTR and which is better" So we all assumed your buying one. Driving on a farm or driving low powered cars isnt going to help you. Its when all your mates pressure you into doing something stupid and you wrap it round a poll is the issue. My advice dont be in a hurry to grow up. Buy a clapped out bucket of pus and drive that around till you understand the road rules and other peoples driving habits. Sometimes its not yourself you have to worry about its other drivers. -
Depending where you come from I dont think you will get an S15 for 23k though.

Looks very nice mate....I hold a soft spot for R34 four doors. -
Should never cut wires from your ecu. If the car is automatic and you do that it will stuff up the gear changes.

Buying an R33 GTST S2
97Sky replied to fLipKnot's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Not entirely true. Who knows with half the cars that get sold they would have mods done to them and people return them back to stock. you would never know if done properly. Id disregard the k's year and mods and go for the one thats in the best nick. Get a compression and leak down test done on the motor and go from there. -
At what boost does your ceramic wheel crap itself?
97Sky replied to Freeman's topic in Forced Induction Performance
I have mine boosted to 10psi with only an exhaust and stock cooler everything is fine but I wouldnt go any higher without a FMIC. mind you I dont drive mine hard very much. -
I still reckon you should keep your skyline. Think about it for a second it has more work done to it and its cheaper what does that say???
-
You also mentioned you get pulled up all the time in your skyline? I have had mine since december last year and have not been pulled up once maybe its where you drive or your driving habits if so it wont matter what car you drive.
-
If you cant afford to keep your skyline due to running costs it isnt going to be much different with a modified 180SX. You would be better off buying somehting more economical to run till you have the funds to keep a performance car. If you want power buy an old corolla and drop an sr20 in that if power is all your after. Also the Blacktop started in late 93/94 not 100% sure. There are no real differences between these two motors in S13 guise. the later S14 and S15 blacktop motors were the ones with valve timing etc.
