Got it started with a trial setting of +4deg Intake and -3deg Exhaust and did a little rough tuning, car now idles quite nice with only a slight lope on idle but once given a bit of throttle clears almost instantly well before 3400 as previous (prob closer to 2000 now) might put the wheels back on the car and take it for a run and see how it goes. As for all the people out there who belive this won't work, i am only doing this as it does not really cost me as i do all the work and there have been people out there who (lie?????) reckon it worked, so for my own curiosity i'm giving it my best go!! And although i should have dyno'd it before, i plan to get a dyno run in (providing it feels better or worthwile) and i will make sure i put up the results so that everyone can learn from my mistake / good fortune too!!!!

I just recently picked up a pair of r32 gtr cams and springs cheap so i thought i'd give the cams a go! i'm running a wolf 3d v4+ initial startup i was plagued with drama due to no manifold vacum putting the computer into a higher load band therefore running rich, changed load sensor from MAP detecting to TPS to get it in the correct load band, but still more tuning to go! Also went to just jap and bought a pair of their own cam gears, although not as great as i'd like them to be they should do, good for the price though! i'll set them as sidney kid suggests (I+2/E-4) and see how it goes from there! By the way once i got the load referencing kinda sorted the although not as cammy as expected at idleit clears to a smooth but definitely deeper growl by around 3400, so if this is where power starts to happen it should match well with the HKS gt25/35r which used to come on boost at around 3800/4000 anyways i'll keep you all posted!

Need to be able to drive to get to the dyno the closest guy i trust to tune a wolf is 1.5 hours away i live far away from any one usefull closest stocked auto shop of any descripion is bout half hour away! And as for dwell timing wolf told me to run 1.8 for the standard coils and about 1.0 for the r34 ones, i lowered that value again as it makes no difference and i dont wanna spend heaps on more coils again! Thanks, but i'm in nsw been talking with Alex Blackson from Redline Rotary (great guy might i add) he loves his rotaries but spends most of his time working on skylines and the like as they seem to be more common! Seen a few of his wolf powered skylines running smooth as!

Hi there, I am attempting to tune my newly installed rb20 in my r31 drift Pintara but am struggling to tune the wolf i have also installed! I am using the map sensor for load, no tps. but as the revs rise to about 3500/4000 and the boost creeps to around 5psi, it missfires, pops and farts and regardless of how much throttle i give it it will not clear or rev/boost higher, and then on returning to idle overfuels like crazy and needs to be leaned out before it will idle smoothly and then require to be richened back up to keep the smooth idle? I am using R34 coils out of my other motor to do away with the ignitor pack so the wiring is neater, i am using .8 milliseconds to charge them as i burned out a few on 1.8 previously. Does anyone know what charge/discharge times i should be using for the r34 coils. And any opinions or advice on what MAY help? Should i be using the tps for load? Thanks In Advance! Paul

No offence there but i got my HKS pair brand new for $460 delivered that was about a year ago. so might be more now but cant imagine it being too much more! !!Delete this if you think it's inapropriate!! Paul.

No they are a larger diameter got some free with the gtr cams i bought for my rb25 Neo, i got the solid lifters so these cams can go in although the Neo cams are fairly good the gtr cam on the inlet side is slightly larger and does away with the NVCS, the exhaust has slightly larger duration on the gtr but less lift so i'm leaving that cam in just gotta get the baby going now!!!
