  1. hi guys The first few pipes should be getting sent out toward the end of this week as they are being made as we speak (i dont have any stock atm, last pipe went to emsta). I have updated the list of the people whose payment has cleared in the second post of this thread. I will PM you each as your pipe gets sent out. All pipes should get sent out by end of next week, or hopefully earlier. cheers
  2. hi guys looks like the 2nd GB will be good to go at the date specified in the above post, as there seems to be quite a bit of interest. i will post up in this thread at the beginning and at the end when the second GB has started just incase i miss to PM everyone thats interested. shif_tea, that would be good, since im interstate until wednesday anyway. cheers
  3. i think we will stop at 15 people, as it will take a couple of weeks for the last few people to receive the pipes if the list gets any larger. we will have to do a 2nd GB if theres much more interest after the 15th person. this 2nd GB would most likely commence 10 July. cheers
  4. the list has been updated, and PMs replied. Some pipes can be sent out mid-to-end of next week, but most will be sent out the following week. i will be interstate until wednesday, so i will be checking the posts and pms and adding to the list, but please dont make payments until thursday onwards. the GB is for stainless steel only since the manufacturer for the mild steel is different and they didnt want to reduce the amount significantly to bother setting up a GB. thanks everyone, the GB is looking good. cheers, Michael
  5. As the first post states, i will be in charge of the GB.
  6. thanks to those people who participated in the GB. most of you have paid and received the cats. i will run a 2nd GB since the catco metal cats have run out and some people have missed out on these, and others couldnt make the payment in time. can all those who still havent made payment please do so by end of today and PM me your address details. cheers, Michael
  7. EGA41T, the metal catco cats are out of stock, catco will have some more in less than 2 weeks. i will get a 2nd GB going for those that missed out or couldnt make it financially this time around. k3, thats normal, as the small and large body cats both have G2K written inside. thanks to all who pm'd me regarding the payments and who let me know they received the cat. cheers
  8. rb26s13, just for your info, this is what the catco 5" body with the 4" in piping, 4" out piping looks like. cheers
  9. RaseR, Ceramic inside cats will always flow less because the substrates are all 400csi. The highest flowing ceramic substrate cat is the 3" catco large body, and from memory this flows at 475-480CFM. Before the metal inside cats hit the market, this was the highest flowing cat, so even though it doesnt flow as much as the catco metal cat, it still does an excellent job with regards to flow and eliminates the bottleneck of the 2 or 2.5" compliance cat/stock cat. cheers
  10. regarding the above post, there is one s14/s15 200sx bolt on catco metal cat still available. cheers
  11. hi guys just letting you know that the catco metal cats have all sold out from catco and there should be more coming soon from the USA shortly. all the people in the list (list is up to number 15) have been catered for, as i have picked up the cats already but any new people who wish to be added for a catco metal cat, there will be a wait. i will find out how long this will be shortly and post it. if anyone wishes to back out of the GB and has secured a catco metal cat, please advise me as it can be made open to someone else. cheers
  12. rb26s13, yes it has the same insides as the metal cat (200ccsi cell), except the metal cat has a 4" body with the 4" substrate. thats why the catco metal cat flows higher (5" body, 5" substrate). let me know definately and i'll add you to the list. cheers
  13. hi guys im just after the screen for the AVCR as it was stolen. dont know what they would do with it as you need all the other bits and pieces which werent touched. now i need the screen to make it work again. if anyone knows where i can get a spare ordered, please let me know. cheers
  14. hi, yes the small body 3" cats (pictured on the second post) are available in the group buy. let me know if you want to be put down for one, and for which car. cheers
  15. All PMs sent/replied to! MintR33, It depends on the amount of people that miss out and want a second GB organised. If there are enough people that ask for a second GB, i'll make one. The only way i can get these prices is by getting the cats in bulk. We'll see what the responses will be like by the end of this GB. cheers
  16. PM sent Christian. to all, The CATs are now ready to go, and you dont have to wait until next Friday (GB close date) to pay and get your CATs. Just PM me anytime from now till close of GB with your address details and i will PM you my account details. The CATs will be sent out same day the payment clears. cheers
  17. The term 'honeycomb' reffers to a 'ceramic inside' cat because it looks like a honeycomb. its the same colour (yellowish) and has a similar pattern to a honeycomb. the proper term would be ceramic substrate. btw, almost all cats are stainless steel, just different grades. the catco metal cat is the 304 grade steel, and its polished, thus the shiny appearance. the cats with metal inside are just refered to as metal substrate. if they are trying to sell you a ceramic inside cat, and saying it will flow more than a metal substrate cat with a 200csi cell then id run away quick. ceramic inside cats wont flow as high as the metal inside cats due to the holes being smaller in the ceramic substrates (all are 400csi). of course the flow would definately increase over the stock cat/compliance cat, but if you are comparing the two 3" cats together, then the metal is higher flowing hands down. cheers
  18. Xizor, The Metal Cat is a great cat, it uses the same 200csi cell the catco uses, but i havent seen it in a 5" body, only a 4" body, so the cell is only 4" round not 5" like the catco. The problem with these cats is that they are too short from one end to the other to make them bolt on for skylines or any other import for that matter (probably many other cars too). This basically means that exhaust shops would have to custom weld them straight to custom exhausts, which is fine if you dont care about your cat-back not being able to bolt on if you bought it from Japan or you want to sell it later on to someone else for a bolt on fit. With the 'Metal Cat', you have to weld extra 3" piping to it and then the flanges can be welded on to make it bolt on. The Catco metal cats are long enough so they are actually cut to size and the flanges just welded on directly. Not enough research on Metal Cat's part i think, especially if they are trying to appeal to the turbo market with bolt on parts. If there is a 5" body Metal cat, the structure would be practically the same as the Catco i would gather, as the metal substrate it uses would be the same as the Catco (200csi). Whether these 5" body Metal Cats are long enough to make bolt on though i wouldnt know as i havent heard of them before. Their main 4" body cat flows at 629CFM (second highest flow rate in the market, but still not near the Catco) on the same bench when tested with the Catco at 706CFM, so if they did make a 5" body cat, it might get similar flow results as the Catco, but saying that its better, i doubt that anyone could come up with a conclusion like that unless it has been bench flowed on the same equipment..especially when the construction would be the same and the inside would be the same. I still prefer the Catco over metal cat, as the Metal Cats seem to be 'following' the market and not leading it in the metal substrate cats like Catco. cheers
  19. thanks guys, you have all been added. k3, regarding your question on the sensor, the s14/s15 bolt on cat DOESNT come with the sensor hole, as the original s14/s15 cats never come with one, so you'll get exactly what you are after cheers
  20. (B1) MR_fanny, since the CATs are at GB prices, yes it will be cheaper to get the cat through the GB and the pipe seperately. at the moment the stainless split pipes are $430, so i recommend you get one of these instead. i can take off another $20 from the order if you pickup both parts, i.e $760 all up for pickup. thats the best absolute best i can do, a huge saving from before. darrinspencer, You wont notice any exhaust noise/note change between the 2 cats or from your previous cat to one of these, mainly because cats arent made to quiten down your exhaust like middle mufflers or resonators. the flow is much better obvisouly but it doesnt impact on the noise at all. regarding my recommendation, if you want the most you can get out of your exhaust, id go with the metal catco cat, especially at that power level, you just want to get the best flow and highest power figures. yogi000, updated the list, thanks
  21. Christian, It is unlikely that your GTR has 2 cats, as they all come with one as standard, so it would be pointless for someone to spend extra money to put another in. Also, they normally do the dual exhaust after the cat, but to be 100% sure, just check it on your car anyways. cheers mate
  22. I'll be running the GB, so all enquiries/PMs can go straight to me!
