  1. hmm id still want to take my car to a QUALIFIED person, rather than in a backyard 3rd year apprentice. Difference is quality and warranty and someone who specializes in exhausts.

Yes you do get bad shops, but you got more bad back-yarders.

  2. bad luck dude.

my friend was in the motorbike behind you... i heard a different story to what happened.

heads up.. could you leave out the racist comments for future reference.

  3. Hey all,

I just spoke with Nissan and I am able to order parts from them at cheaper than retail prices.

Shortly I will be making a website that will assist those who wish to source GENUINE nissan parts.

The reason I want to do this for SAU is because, I found it very difficult to get a part from a wrecker and explaining what I need. Not just that I am a big fan of customer service and most places just dont give you the right respect you deserve.

Besides that listed above, some wreckers want BIG DOLLARS for 2nd hand parts, which give you no assurance for condition. I actually found out that one place in brisbane was charging $10 less than brand new and it was 15+ years old?!?!?! I'm sure most of you know that cant be efficient.

I will be looking for orders soon from as many SAU owners as I can get so I can get a bulk order sent for the first batch and then continuous flow from there, so i need as much support as possible. - ADMIN I will be in contact with you about this as soon as i am set.

Ok dudes, shall let you all know how I go.

  4. for starters, wtf with the caps man, its only a car.

anyways, i have seen the best of both situations.

If you want to buy a rebuit one, find out who did it, what warranty they offer. quite simply would you trust your cash in a back yard mechanic with no proper tuning equipment or would you put your cash with a place that has all the equipment at their disposal. Thats not to say every pro-racing house makes 100% bullet proof engines, but you get my drift on quality.

If you want to buy a stock standard gtr, then yes, go with Hanyou above and look for someone who has taken care of the car and given it care. This is simple. Do a thorough inspection, either by a quality mechanic or yourself, for the age of the car, does it feel like it? its not that hard to spot a problem, just dont let your emotions get in your way.

each one has their pros and cons, you will just have to mitigate where you want to be.

    FYI

I own a stock gtr. my friend owns a 2.7L rebuilt gtr. both our cars runs great, and we drive to work and back in them.

    Good luck happy hunting

  6. Yea, Ive been using Iridiums and they are great. last for ages. no missing or anything, also noticed smoother idle, crisper power delivery and better fuel economey. runs like a dream all the time. sure they are more pricey but as they say "you get what you pay for".

ps. arbess id be interested to know how the new Iridium IX's go

hehe not a worry mate, will be looking at getting a set soon.

  7. To chuck a spanner in the works,

im looking at getting some Iridium IX shortly, hopefully they will have a smaller gapping to try. They state they use less voltage to create the spark, in which my understanding from physics year 12, will have less heat generated around the coil packs.

    :(:worship:

  8. Well heres my fat 2c

For your thread: Platinum or Iridium, I use Iridium, always have in my GTR and GTST. I find it really good and not had one issue with them. THERE IS MY ANSWER TO YOUR THREAD.

Now for some extra info. The GTR's came out of the factory with platinums. Now Nissan wouldnt make a car to detonate using platinum plugs, in fact they would tune it to provide maximum safety and maximum power... so this talk on pre-igniting fuel is some weird talk.

When I was experimenting with copper in my GTST, I found that it was great for 1000km after that, ran like a pig.

Also the less and less you change your plugs the less wear you are putting on your engine parts, as in on-off-on-off etc etc. More screwing around, you'll end up breaking something.

Gapping, buy the freaking right gapped plugs in the first place, and yes try a hotter heat range as in a 5 if your car is running crap.

My true answer to this is, buy the factory spec plug because its already been engineered for you. you should not have a problem using a recommended platinum/iridium plug, in fact why dont you email NGK to see what they list for your car.

    b!tching closed.
