  2. I'm trying to find one in melbourne but if i have no luck i'll get that for sure.
  3. as above i need an air flow meter for a silvertop rb20det, urgently. im in melbourne my mobile number is 0404 097 602 thanx.
  4. i have a some wiring diagrams for the r31 with the rb30et in it, is this what you want?
  5. thanx for the replies. that z forum looks good, got a few answers on there already. turns out the bloke i bought it off has the original motor so. Ive decided to rebuild the existing engine and restore the 260 to its former glory. -Adam
  6. picked up a loom and ecu on saturday. special thanx to chef32.
  7. just picked up a datsun 260z 2+2 for next to nothing. its monza red and has no motor or gearbox and the dash has been removed and re-upholstered but not put back in. a few questions for those of you in the know; what would a shell like this be worth? Im told it was resprayed last year, so rust is minimal. Also I have my old rb30e out of my r31 sitting in the shed with all the accessories and was thinking i could drop this in but i will be needing a road worthy cert and was wondering if this conversion would require an engineers cert. I know that the 3L is bigger than the L26 and apparently you need a certificate when increasing capicity but i thought i might be able to get away with it. alternativly if anyone wants to buy the shell for the right price then i'd sell it. any input appreciated.
  8. whilst wiring up my engine loom i stupidly didnt have fuses inline and a pin on the computer melted, also melting a few intenal parts of the computer thus rendering it useless, unfornatly this also melted the blue plug on the engine loom that plugs into the ecu. so... im after an engine wiring loom and computer to suit an rb20det silvertop. preferably someone in melbourne but first in first served. alternatively i could use an ecu and a replacement plug for the loom. if you have any or all of the above, i'd be more than happy to take them off your hands. -Adam
  9. do you have the loom, if so would you be willing to seperate?
  10. are you at all negotiable on this price?
  11. thanks for the reply. yes its an aussie delivered r31. ive got the two constant power wires from the grey plug near the washer bottle connected and am getting the ign to turn on the ecu via the body plug near the ecu in the r31. I have been told that you do not have to ground the ecu as it gets a ground from somwhere else and as long as you ground the motor it is ok. (doesn't sound right tho.) i have also got the ignition start signal connected via the body plug near the ecu. now the problem is whilst i was working on it two wires touched and shorted, melting a pin in the ecu and also melting the ecu plug. So i cracked open the ecu and have removed the melted pin and hard wired a wire into its location and have drilled a hole in the ecu's case so the wire can poke out. I thought this would be ok but after wiring everything up and checking everything many times im still not getting spark, so i think i have damaged the ecu. (although the red LED still turns on) so now im looking for another loom and ecu
  12. as above i need an engine loom and ecu to suit r32 manual. I am in melbourne. cheers.
  13. I have an rb20det silver top which i am putting into my r31 the engine has been installed and i am currently trying to wir up the ecu. I have sorted out a relay for the fuel pump and have power to the ecu as the led comes on. what else do i need to wire up to get it to start? any advice appreciated
  14. please send pics of turbo and cooler and piping to [email protected] very keen. thanx.
  15. as above i would like to buy an exhaust housing of a r32 turbo, for an adaption im sure someone on here will have one lying around. even a whole turbo that is stuffed. cheers -Adam
  16. Just purchased an RB20 for my R31 due to the old RB30et giving up the ghost. :ghost: I figuered that I would be able to bolt the T03 of the old motor onto the RB20 but when i do nothing aligns properly. due to the angle of the rb20 exhaust manifold flange. I could make some oil n waterlines up to fit but the oil would be flowing through the body of the turbo sideways (horisontal) and I know that this is a no no. and i would also have to rotate the compressor housing. I rotated the exhaust housing so that when the turbo bolts on the compressor housing is in the right place and the oil is flowing from top to bottom. but now the wastegate actuator and diaphragm dont align and the dump pipe sticks out sideways and will never bolt up to the exhaust. I thought i could "cut n shut" the dump pipe but this would still not solve the wastegate problem. I was thinking i could put the rb20 turbo's exhaust housing onto the t03 but am not sure about this as the T03 would have a bigger wheel.... I am hoping someone here could inform me as to wether there is another type of exhaust housing i could use and hopefully point me in a direction of who to speak to about this problem. I am located in melbourne, who would i call about this? thanx in advance. -Adam
