  1. that sounds ok - but technique is better like this brake in high gear down toward where you then do your gear changes down just before accelerating in correct gear - skipping gears down is ok then (you could skip from 5th to 2nd so long as you come onto 2nd under acceleration. That is so long as you let out the clutch in low gear at the correct speed with the accelerator down you can avoid tensioning your pistons. The reason for braking in a high gear with the gear engaged is to get the benefit of vacumme assist braking. So doing your change down to 2nd from 5th 'after' braking makes sense if you are trying to take advantage of this.
  2. a5h Was it a white excel?
  3. Oki92GTSt high flowing means boring out the inside of the turbo to make the pipes bigger and to fit larger impeller and propeller in place of the smaller original standard ones.
  4. or you can get a s-itc ignition timing controller have an s-afc and s-itc both together for $500 for sale
  5. BP 98 does smell nicer with the exhaust as well as giving a noticable touch more kick in my car than the Optimax which seems better suited to low revving V8's than high revving turbo six since the BP98 has a lower specific gravity. Perhaps a finer mist, for a quicker burn, with a slightly higher octane preventing premature ignition and knock. My test drives done with the standard s2 computer. - I'm picking up a Microtech LTX12 auto computer tomorrow or on the weekend, will be tuned to BP98.
  6. This gives me an average just over 400km per tank from experience.
  7. mine does 15L/100km today topped up 30.8 L for 200km exact! pure fluke on the 200km - currently I always top up to full tank using BP Ultimate 98.
  8. fatz Do you keep your tank toward empty or toward full for this?
  9. So what you brake on the engine - you get engine assisted vacuume brakes = better performance in quick braking before turn! To keep your gearbox moving it is better to brake in gear, braking out of gear would lose gear momentum. Due to the amount of time spent braking out of gear. (thinking syncromesh) Also the risk of breaking you engine due to tensioning your pistons from a badly under revved position is increased when you do 5th to 2nd gear changes. Thanks for pointing this out fatz. The only thing the method might be useful for is saving fuel? Engine revs drop quickly while braking.
  10. yeah they don't clean it at all for all they charge!
  11. you may have to resort to ringing them one by one off the list of R32 2dr compliancers registered I had to do that for the R33 4dr and that was on the old scheme!
  12. I also want to know if an EBC gets rid of need for FCD
  13. Why is it white? Incense ash or high octane fuel residue from Japan?
  14. Don't know what causes white dust, some ideas - could be from the air bag if its ever blown up before. It probably just hangs around in the air and settles overnight. In any case the solution would be to buy an air cleaner Skylines often come with Nissan PureTron air filters. I've got a real big one - the filter is bigger than the one in a standard engine airbox. It sits on the rear shelf between the two speakers. works well - never any dust, car smells brand new, great if there are smokers and you are non-smoking.

    cops!

perhaps that explains why the last few day a group of street draggers seem to have moved into our area, last few nights have been absolutely nuts - extremely loud on Friday night. They followed me tonight to see if I put on a burst of accelleration or not up a skinny dark side street tonight and then did a u-turn after I accelerated like a normal car. 5 minutes later going back saw this same p car pulled up a yellow TR7 with a FMIC! Watch how you drive and keep your exhaust quiet at low revs. Seems to me that every time any car incidents happen in my area - particularly where the mega rich and a whole bunch of upper middle class people in Southern side of Sydney live - the laws get changed or the police have a blitz. Bloody 10%ers. Sorry I won't say where. Someone tell me is this blitz a Labour party initiative - what is Liberals stance on driver fines speed camera style revenue raising ? I thought liberal were the ones getting way too tough with their laws. Speed cameras and speeding fines are proof of government corruption. ??. Do you have to carry your compliance certificate papers? How much is a defect fine, and if you replace the offending defected part, is the fine eliminated?
  16. How many points does the s-itc have for setting? How easy is it to connect without damaging the standard loom - can you give a brief description of how to connect the s-afc and s-itc please? Yes I'm in Sydney also are they suitable for a R33 GTST series 2 auto?
  17. BATMBL Where are you going to get it dyno'd? Can you suggest a good place in Sydney that doesn't cost $$$, or uses some special dyno that is worth the extra money.
  18. benm Which FMIC have you got? did you have to modify the afm sensor reading? what kind boost controller are you using, does it have single or two stage boost, and what rpm does the 12psi come full boost?
  19. slayer_1971 what rwkw do you get in normal mode? Do you always have it at .8 bar for daily driving?
  20. Anyone know where I can get water injection for a R33 installed and tuned in Sydney?
  21. here I'll knock them for ya Brody. My friend bought his car through ***** **** ***** - supposed to come with warranty The turbo had a broken fin and whinned but they said "just get it upgraded and why bother fixing it". It also came with a gear box that crunched in 4th gear. They fixed it but it was still crunching after they fixed it!!! Again this was supposed to be under warranty! My friend no longer goes there anymore for any service at all. How about everyone tell us about actual good experiences at other mechanics, so that we can give good mechanics our valuable custom!
  22. try getting lights changed somewhere else before you get it complianced. At least you'll get to keep the originals!
