you wont break the gearbox through just having a hard clutch like you say, but if you drive it everyday and everywhere then the wear and tear on the clutch itself will ruin it. Button clutches arent designed for everyday driving, they fail under slipping forces. for a track car there is nothing better then a button ceramic, but way better getting a heavy duty organic for road driving, or a twin plate organic, if you want something heavier.
