  1. Being relatively early in the morning, it took me a while to realise why the Nullabor Roadhouse, apparently surrounded by bush, featured a model whale. It is a short distance from the coast, with a number of access tracks to lookout points. The best one being at the Head of the Bight, which is a sealed road and there is a Visitor Centre, staffed by local rangers.

  2. 90 Mile straight heading West!

    By the time we got back to Perth, with stops at Madura Pass Roadhouse and Kalgoorlie, we had covered a total of 7,863.5 kms. Most days the average speed, according to Navman, was about 105 km/hr. Everywhere we stopped, people asked about the car.
