  1. can somebody just give me a reply! like just a simple "yup, thats the way to do it" or a "no, u need to...." Please
  2. Hey all. I just bought received my new rear strut brace for my r32 gtst and to tell u the truth is it just a straight bolt on job? take out the rubber cap, unbolt the nuts, put strut brace on top and bolt it back on? Got a mental image of removing the nuts and the suspension screws will just drop through the holes .... What will I have to take note of when doing this? do it on a fairly flat ground? Thanks for any help before i start installing it and wrecking the whole thing up. cheers patrick
  3. so you're i should go find an auto electrician to check the problem? as i said i am a complete idiot when it come to the mechanical side. thanks, i'll try to find one in the yellow pages or something or maybe someone in here is one? rather give the money to a fellow skyline enthusiast
  4. Sometimes when I put my key into the key entry and turn to the engine "on" position nothing happens not even a cranking sound or something. then i turn to accessory "on" position and wait abt 5 secs b4 turning it to "on" and sometimes that work but sometimes that do not work sometimes both do not work and i have to keep trying abt 10+ times switching between the turning it straight to "on" and switching it to accessories "on" before it works. And this happens both during hot sunny afternoons and cold moony nights so i don't think its a cold engine problem or something. what might be the problem? starter motor got problem or something? I am a mechanic idiot and know absolutely nothing about the workings of the cars  so any views is welcome. Thanks edit: when the key is at accessories on position the lights and radio all work so i dont think it should be a weak battery problem?
  5. 1 X rear r32 strut bar for my r32 gtst pls if its not sold to gurglr. btw does the price include freight interstate? i'm in sydney
  6. Hi all. Got myself a r32 gtst and during the inspection the mechanic said that the front wheel bushes (i think thats what he said) were worn and needed replacing and the air con needed regassing as it was not cold at all. So anyone can recommend me any workshops that do these? I should also be getting the car serviced (check oil, check for leaks and stuff) at that workshop at the same time (scared of car dying on me while i'm driving in the middle of nowhere  ) since I'm there. Thanks for any "positive" inputs And by the way my rear wheel tyre threads are getting very thin and I will need to change my rear tyres my friend told me to go tempe tyres should i go there? Just seeking more suggestions from fellow forummers.
  7. Yeah it came with an aftermkt steering wheel, guess i'll have to trust the seller about what he syas then. The alarm is a Rhino GTS. The website states that there's a 2 point engine immobiliser. Read somewhere else that insurance companies need at least a 3 point one if not a theft claim will not be valid? If thats the case I might need to change it pity though it was only installed in feb this yr. Combo of wipers and demisters and the air con towards the windscreen way? Was thinking of any products that might prevent the window of misting up in the first place. Didn't really want to spit on my beloved skyline's windscreens the way divers spit on their face goggles before they go into the water. :spew: Sending in the application form tomorrow! :wavey:
  8. Hello everyone! Just got my first skyline (r32 gtst) and I am so happy about it. Got to admit I don't really know much about cars  and its internal workings though so a few questions regarding the car 1. Sometimes the HICAS light just come on/flickers on and off the seller said his mechanic say there's nothing wrong with the car but I just wanted to make sure whether I had turned on some button in the car or something. By the way, what is HICAS? 2. How many immobilisers are there in my car? Is there a procedure to check whether they exist in the car? 3. What do you use to keep the windscreen from misting up during cold nights or driving through fog? 4. Is there supposed to be an official skyline australia club that i can sign up for or something? Read of some people even having a membership card but I just couldn't find any information on this website. Got a couple more questions in my head but just couldn't remember them. This will have to do for now. Thanks for any inputs!
