  1. Not pre compliance and on road costs its not.
  2. Its just as dodgy as bleed valve boost control. Plenty of people use that without concern. Both too dodgy in my opinion, but those using bleed valves for boost or fuel cut defender are just as bad. He is loosing flow of electricity instead of air.
  3. Item: '91 Daihatsu Charade Location: Newcastle Item Condition: Not bad for a charade Reason for Selling: Have new car now, no longer need the run about in-between car. Price and Payment Conditions: $2,000ono Extra Info: CD Player, rego till April (90% sure, will check), TS 5spd 1.0L 3cyl. 450kms to 23L... do the math, its f#*king awesome on fuel. Maybe cause it only runs on 3cylinders, lol, had to say it. Contact Details: [email protected]
  4. Maybe a f**ked rear window with some fully sick spray paint on your car if you were such a nice guy to everyone that tried to sell their car... So is it $6000ono for the car with a straight door now?
  5. That is one of the sentences which should be framed and placed in some sort of example catalog "What not to say when asking for help". What exactly is your point there? Sure we'd all like to hear some facts rather than simple statements of "Good", "Better" and "Wrong" Does a piggyback system add time for action and ECU re-action in an event? Surely two lots of processing would increase the time that the final re-active event occurs? Have asked this question before, no one seems to want to address it.
  6. 170 from factory. allow about 12 difference between max and min. allow minimum of 126 difference of 9? don't do it. if it were an even 140-150, eg, 144min and 147max, that would be great, imo
  7. On an SR20 what boost are they most efficient at? about 1.1 bar or more? The GT-RS is a little high for my liking. If you could strap one to an un-opened motor and get a safe 220rwkw at max efficiency or close to it, I think they would be an awesome option for street use.
  8. They can blow very quick. And if you can't find a leak, probably have. Its amazing how many times this question is asked. Maybe there should be a thread about what you should buy before buying a GTR that is older than 93. Including, Turbos, CV boots, Engine rebuild kit and so on.
  9. You kidding? THats awesome! I had a GT4 engine in a celica. Ended up with about same power on same boost, if you are talking at the engine, not at wheels. That was tuned with Microtech LT8, by RX Engineering, who know microtech better than most. Fuel consumption was worse!!! much worse. So on same boost, same power, better consumption and cheaper fuel! Sounds ok to me.
  10. Outback Limited. MY00 with 46,000kms on clock. Interested? I'm in NSW though.
  11. Its true, performance car and saving money don't really go together. I think you would be better off on LPG than Petrol if are doing alot of kms though... and some people might like to drive a GTR for example instead of something else. Some people like opera... isn't my cup of tea either, seems like a waste... but each to their own I guess. Also, the resale value is only realised if you actually sell the car, some people may decide to keep the same car for 20+ years... In this way, building a car just how you want it, would be a significant advantage. I'm 22 and have owned 6 cars. I can tell you, changing cars is expensive! If I found the right car to suit my needs perfectly in the first place, I'd be alot of $$$ better off. That is what someone is trying to achieve here, the perfect car for what they want... Not for track days.
  12. Is your car an investment? Mine is for driving.
  13. How does an engine ever suck in the exhaust side? Just on the issue of sucking the broken wheel off? I blew two turbos on mine. The cat ate them. Most people agree this is the animal that eats wheels (or chunks of). Air in --->>>> BANG BAND ----->>> Air out.... this is the flow I understand anyway... But yeah, those ceramic ones don't like to boost to much and the rings don't like too much either on those old 170,000km engines....
  14. Hell yeah. Would be awesome to smoke a few petrol powered cars and I think a RB26 is a good base to do that. Good luck with the conversion if you go ahead. Its an excellent idea and good on the first few people to try it, because there will ofcourse be many teething problems...
  15. I don't. Nothing is certain. So I choose to watch a trend. For the last 5 years, the price difference between gas and petrol has gotten larger by quite alot. My point wasn't so much about a huge number of kms, more about the study suggest 3 years when you saved say 40c per litre. So if you now save 80c per litre, it would mean 1.5 years. I really really liked driving my GTR (bless its sole) and if I knew that a tank was going to cost half as much with gas, I would have liked it more. You can tell me that its not the right car for me cause I don't mind losing 30kws. Then I could tell you to stop being a poof and aim for 400rwkws in your car, when you say you can't afford it, or even, you don't want to, I could then say, well you should shouldn't drive a skyline. Whats wrong with people wanting cheap running costs and wanting something different to the fastest GTR in the known universe?
  16. No it doesn't. Ofcourse its hard to get started, who wants a one off project? Who wants to be the first, you are going to have so many issues it will seem pointless. Almost as pointless as the first computers, which could do simple calculations in a few minutes which a normal person could do on a piece of paper in under one minute. These computers were huge and a waste of space. So for a one off, its not going to happen, but if a few people pull off something decent, a company or two start knowing what they are doing and specialise in this area... who knows. The only point no one seems to understand is, you can't give calculations which suggest it takes 3 years to be viable. That is like saying all moths like pink shirts instead of blue. WTF do you base that sum on? So many variables!!! The number one point LPG has going for it now, is the difference between the price of it and petrol. It is getting bigger, do I have to start a worm graph to prove it? How long have you guys been driving, longer than me I bet and you can't seem to notice the price gap getting bigger all the time? Its not hard to see that the savings increase as the price difference increases. *Trips as jumps of soap box, crowd laughs, boy cries*
  17. Yeah, its extra weight and less performance, its making it a less that par GTR, but a less than par GTR is not only a cool rhyme, its also a weapon compared to other vehicles on the road. I sold mine, but when I did use it, I actually travelled 1hr to work everyday. A return trip of around 70kms, bit more... Thats 350 a week minimum, but who keeps driving a GTR to a minimum? I would often do 700kms a week in it. I'm sure others would be the same. When time comes to get another GTR, LPG won't be on the wish list, but a few more years down the track, I can see it might be and it would be good to hear some more technical views, especially from those 10second VL's.
  18. Yep. My point was just highlighted by the fact they are not rising as fast as PULP. I have no doubt they will go up. The GAP or SAVING = PULP - LPG, where bigger SAVING is gives us more savings is the concept I am talking about. What if you had a GTR as a run around car... that would be my solution. I'd prefer a GTR with a 10% power loss than an Excel.
  19. I don't know what it is, I will be sure to research it. What I DO know is that it IS NOT rising in tune with fuel. The GAP in prices IS getting bigger. Remember when PULP was like 80c. gas wasn't 80c cheaper then, but it is now! The gap will definatly get bigger in prices. (write that down)
  20. Who did the 10second VL's we always here about? That would be a good start.
  21. So true. Good practical calculations there. Except one thing ofcourse... it was 50c difference. That gap is changing all the time. What about when it his $1 difference. Using this very good average calculations which I know would be about right for me. Suddenly its a $2000 a year saving. When oil gets worse, it will continue to make more and more sense. Its about time LPG or another fuel source got some more serious thought. Its like everyone always tries to be wise and predict fuel prices will hit $1, then $1.50, like they are clever or something, but its a no brainer, they will keep going up! As they do, we need to be on top of things and start some of the great mechanical minds out there think about this LPG setup. What about when the price difference is $1.50 per L! What will the difference be in 10years?? Who wants an LPG GTR? I do!!
  22. People seem to ask alot for R32's for some reason. Sh#t me to tears when I was trying to sell my old and injured GTR to see GTSt's with a few mods asking the same money. Just ask 18K for it, then people will think its good quality We all know you get what you pay for...
  23. Thats what I was wondering. Less than a week ago even...
  24. Thought it was my car.... Wasn't... sorry. Cheap tho!
  25. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Twin-HKS-GT...sspagenameZWD2V HKS $1900 US. around $2500 AUS. + $150 or so for registered shipping.
