Well.... If you make an appointment with Regency, you take the defect notice to the cop shop and they grant you permission to drive your car until your regency appointment as long as you show them proof of repairs. In my case, there was no repairs required, because they defected me for something that was legal and already in place (blow off valve to be conveyed to manifold), so they granted me permission to drive. Does that make sense. However, i have my police conciliation conference next week about the complaint i made regarding my defect. I spoke with the Senior Traffic Manager (he is dealing with the complaint) at holden hill about how the officers treated me and he agrees his officers were wrong and that my defect should be removed. So, i'll let you know what happens.

Oh ye' of little faith. I am always one step ahead. I have a permit to drive it anywhere i want and anytime i want, until the 19th of July.

I know i want to take my car out Friday night as well... Im defected but have permit to drive it, so I figured i might as well make the most of it. Its like an immunity sticker.

Yep Steve, it was ONLY the BOV, i took it to the Holden Hill Copper Shop but the defect notice did have VIS on it. So they say it still has to go, even when the cops at Norwood and other police stations said they would take it off but cant for jurisdiction reasons. Im going to have a panel conciliation with them in the next few weeks. I will definately raise that issue. Further more, i was defected without the police officer who defected me, actually having sighted the defect. Which is a big no no Im going to make a tape of blow off valve noises, connect my sub to mum's excel and drive around Holden hill with it cranked! lol Just for fun.

Your right Dean. Its total crap. I saw a car the other night smoking out so much black smoke the cars behind him could not see where they were going because of the huge amount of smoke coming out of the car in front. I then see a cop drive straight by!! And Matt.. I was cruising 40kms around a corner nothing crazy just having a smoke and cruisin', so i was not being reckless at all.. I also was defected for JUST the stock factory blow off valve. The defect notice actually states "blow off valve to be conveyed to manifold" when IT IS!!! I also have more of a case here because the police officer defected me without having actually sited the defect.. he wouldn't even let me show him it was legal. therefore, i didn't pop my bonnet.

I am having the matter investigated by the Police Complaints Tribunal. Shane (Never naughty) has been helping me alot with this matter. I have to go to a panel interview and state my case and they will make a decision about my defect. The only other option... is go through regency making sure everything is micky mouse.. prove to sapol my car was legal and make a claim for damages, for lost time, money, and stress against sapol. Also, the day i got defected, i had a buyer for my car and it was to be sold.. now i have lost that sale.. thanks to those coppers.

The point here is, i was defected for something that was completely legal.. and even when i show those holden hill wankers and they know its a legal set up, they still want me to go through regency.

Paulina, I tried that.. the officer said i could have modified the car since then and it has to go through again. They make up the rules as they go along.

Yerp, i hear ya. I very teary. Im having the matter investigated and making a complaint against the officers involved. I also am speaking to my local MP. Then i will open up a file at work (law firm) and make them pay for my wasted time and money spent on this issue. Im tired of being walked over by those mother bitches.
