  5. Hm, a tyre with a harder wall may help, what do you mean by "get them to check all the settings against stock?"
  6. Right well, I'm getting new back tyres in a few days and while they're at it what should I ask them to check/align?
  7. I've already got them balanced and had them all aligned..... first thing I did. Pretty sure the offset is like +30 or something or +45 cant remember.....
  8. It isn't a GTR. Before you have a crack at grammatical errors, check the time I posted it; tired! I've taken it to tyre shops tired to explain they just blame alignment or balancing....I need to get them to drive it to make them understand. Its like its getting stuck in ruts and swerves both left and right... I'm getting new back tyres this week although I doubt this will solve the problem due to the fronts being the ones that actually steer. When I get the tyres I'll ask them to check the toe elk, dunno what it is though and make sure the air pressure is correct... I'll let you know how it goes, cheers guys!!
  9. Recently got some 2nd hand Volk te37s, got them balanced and after they were put on got all of the wheels aligned, and was told I have slightly negative camber in the front...(dunno if this is whats doing it...). They are 18 x 8.5 fronts and 18 x 9.5 rears on an R34. The back tires came with the rims and are chewed up pretty bad, fronts are fine. I put them on my car and went for a cruise and noticed that my car seems to get stuck in ruts on the road and swerve from left to right or right to left on the road in these ruts sort of thing, like its always swerving both ways by itself.... Never did this before on my stock rims and never heard of a car doing this :S Anybody had this experienced and fixed it, or know whats going on? I have no idea! Any help's appreciated. Plan on getting new back tires to see if that'll fix it but I doubt it will, so if anyone can shed some light, I'd be forever greatful, thanks! - Jack
  10. Change the coil packs?
  11. 5" LOL I've got a 2.5" system with a 3" cannon and it sounds like a jet engine.
  12. Thursday to Monday night, melton had a booze bus and defect stations on one of its main roads. Problem with melton is to get from one side to the other theres only a handful of roads to get you there so they had them all locked down. One of my mates got stopped 3 times in a 15 minute trip from one side to the other to get his car checked over and a breath test each time.

  14. Thanks alot guys The guy said he's "pretty sure" thats the offset, so hopefully hes right!! thanks again appreciate it!!
  15. I know there is an offset guide just above this thread, but I have no idea or concept of what it is, not even the basics. I just want to know before buying these rims if they're going to fit on my N/A 34. Fronts are 18x8.5 Rears are 18x9.5 Offset is 30+ Help would be greatly appreciated, also a simple explanation to what offset is in lamens terms, cheers.
  16. Don't bother. They're shit. The owner is an arrogant pig, who doesn't like keeping business.
  17. Noones mentioned this but, private property.
  18. I've got a 34 N/A, had it for about a year and a half, and have a year n a half til I get off my P's, I've just done things I can take off when I sell it as I plan to a few weeks before I get off my P's to buy a GTT or 32R. If I get the GTT most things from my car will fit onto that, rims bodykit etc. and I've kept the stock ones to put back on when I sell it.
  19. A forum member on here had "OMG" in Vic slimline... about $500 brand new, he sold for $1,000 I think something that he coulda got way more for.... Some plates are absolutely ridiculously priced though, some that aren't even half decent.
  20. Just had a quick scan through this thread, you guys have some pretty whacky undercover cop cars. In vic all I ever see is the usual, latest model commodore (99.9% sedans, seen 1 ute) and the latest model fords, so I pretty much know what to look out for. The Golf and Aurions, RX-8.... wow borderline ridiculous lol
  21. Anyone else interested? That's like 4 people so far...........
  22. I'm on the way to Ballarat from Melbourne, Melton. Who is your mechanic in Ballarat?
  23. In general, any manual car compared to its auto has that little bit more grunt. Not to mention the fun factor. I've got a manual r34 N/A as I'm on my P's. As for you "chucking a turbo in it" don't bother, sell it and buy a turbo 34 which is what I plan to do.
  24. I drove my bosses VE exec the other day, and it was probably just because it was auto, but it lagged compared to the 'line.
  25. Alex34 - If he gets a slap on the wrist nothing is going to stop him from buying another car, doing the same thing and next time possibly killing somebody innocent, while he says to himself "might aswell, didn't cop much last time." On the other hand if he is dealt with harshly he might think about driving responsibly next time instead of trying to be a fast & furious wannabe. LordMidol - Jail is a piss poor deterrent? Sorry, but you're infact saying nearly every civilization on Earth has got it wrong for the past few thousand years and it doesn't work? They need more jail time to prevent this. Say civilization did get it wrong, what should be done about it? Defencive driving course? So these losers can pretend to drift with an instructer on a skid pan, come out of it thinking they're race drivers because they've done some pissy course, go out and try it all over again with their new skills? I think they need harsher penalties, maybe not jail, maybe disqualified for driving for 1-2 years. That'll teach them.
