Hey Michael, I'm in the same boat as you at the moment - looking for a large oval / box muffler to replace my Trust PE2 unit... car is WAY too loud for street driving. Spoken to a few people and they've said the following: 1) Magnaflow; not very good for big HP turbo applications 2) Remus; made for European N/As, useless on turbo applications 3) X-Force; good, cheap n quiet. Average price is between $200-$600 for a new large body item. Would you mind keeping me updated with your findings? S

Blitz Dsbc Vs Greddy Profec B Spec Ii
satanic replied to ThirtyThree's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Greddy Profec E-01 user here... everything is sweet as, screen is a little large but shows a lot of information... boost control is awesome. Need to set it manually though as the AUTO learn function is a piece of crap and completely useless without a dyno as you have to wind it out to some absurd speed / rpm. -
For $10K, you'd be looking at the following: 1) A very small list of brand new parts, or 2) A very long list of second hand parts Option 1) might not see you there... Turbo Kit - $2.5-3.0K FMIC - $500-$1,000 Exhaust - $1,000 EBC - $300-$1,000 ECU - $800 - $??? Injectors - $800-$1,000 Fuel Pump - $300-$600 Air Intake - $200 * Above prices are pretty indicative depending on how fussy you are and ultimately what you want to do... parts alone you're looking at $7k - $10K, then you have to factor in labour n tuning etc... not to mention all the SMALL bits n bobs that nobody ever seems to factor in (nuts, bolts, washers, fluids, zipties, oils etc. etc.) Option 2) you'll get there... just need patience and a keen eye when looking for 2nd hand goodies! Personally, started off with Option 2) for a few things - was only 19 then so didn't really have a choice. But yeah, slowly replaced everything with brand new items as finances got better... Now my 34 is an freak of nature

Hmm interesting thread... *subscribing* I hit 265km/hr on a pretty worked RB25 before... that was the reading off my F-CON Navigator (I only have a 180km/hr dash), and am not sure if its entirely accurate.

Don't get you Steve, can you do a mock up in paint so I get a better idea? Can have Ann do the artwork after...

OK quote has just come in from Ann... 10 $18.00 each 11 – 20 $17.00 each 21 – 50 $16.00 each 51 + $15.00 each Please note that the above pricing includes everything (choice of design, and freight). From time of order being placed to delivery, expect 4 days (going off last Group Buy)

I think those designs are indicative and can change (text wise). Hoping to get that final price back from Ann today...

Morning boys... Ann has come through with the artwork on the P/S Cap, so the GB is on... details here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gr...er-t240250.html

Hi all, Over the last year and a half I have been engaged in the rebuild of my R34. During this time we have spent a lot of time and effort adding small touches here and there to make things a bit more unique. Some are specific, and others are more generic (i.e. for everyone) One such part that we came up with was a cover plate for the R34GTT Power Steering Cap. Even though the standard one was in OK shape, I found that it was a "dull" point when compared to the rest of my engine bay which is mostly filled with shiny bits n pieces. So as per usual, the spanners were dropped and the drawing board was manned. The design brief was "simple, easy to fit, and attractive". Once the design was finalized, Ann Harris @ K-Bar was contacted to do the hard work - as always she delivered with fabulous results. Business Details: Ann Harris K-Bar Laser Etching http://k-bar.com.au/ All our initial designs involving this technology were sent to numerous suppliers around Australia. Ann came back with the lowest quote from everyone, and was happy to assist with material choice, artwork and other recommendations. In total, around 20 suppliers were contacted and these guys were by far the best deal for our purposes (i.e. once off designs and productions) What's on Offer For those who took part in the R34 Fuse Box Plate Group Buy, the quality of the item is already known... the photos below show MY OWN version of the Power Steering Cap Plate - the final picture is the artwork that Ann has done for me, so I can offer it to you guys. Please note, even though I am 99% sure that this is good for ALL Skylines (dimension wise), please check by taking a ruler to your engine bay! The third picture is the artwork sent to me this morning by Ann - there are a couple of designs there to choose from. I am under the impression that the numbers required for this GB are TOTAL UNITS, not UNITS PER DESIGN. So mixing n matching the order is fine. Pricing Ann is still finalizing the quote based on 0-10, 10-20, and 20+ units. Just like the last group buy, pricing will include 1x Plate, Postage, and maybe a little surprise (not guaranteed) GROUP BUY END DATE AT THIS STAGE IS: 15/11/2008 (or earlier pending public interest) Specifics Material: 3mm Metalgraph Plus (brushed stainless look) Etching: All etching will be in BLACK (no exceptions) Holes: No mounting holes will be needed; two small dabs of adhesive are all that is required for mounting Care: Minimal care is required, this material is scratch proof - an odd wipe wouldn't hurt though
-
Thanks guys... out of curiosity, how many of you would be interested in getting the Power Steering Cap Cover (again with the GT Logo) - cost will be nowhere near as much as the Fuse Plate as it is considerably smaller. If there is a few yes replies, I'll have Ann do up the new artwork.

Thanks 666DAN but it's OK... all sorted. I doubt your photo would've helped anyway, was rummaging through my photos today and found a few pics of the plug. It is wrapped up in electrical tape from factory and all the colours are hidden Thanks very much for the offer though. FYI for those who ever get as stupid as we did and go trigger happy on the Turbine Speed Sensor... the wiring goes White, Black and then Red. Took me three attempts but its all sorted, A/T light is GONESKIES! What a bloody mission to get that plug apart. 1 - Signal - White 2 - Ground - Black 3 - Ground with Shield - Red -
Big Power, Auto, And Flex Plates
satanic replied to satanic's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah it must be a 34 / Stagea thing... I'm pretty sure the 33 flex plate is less "holy" Must've been a design fault or Nissan just never intended it to be under so much stress. Well the new plate is holding up fine - we've taken possession of the car back from the tuner due to the turbo > manifold gasket blowing out (weird since its stainless, but we'll see tomorrow). Went for a little quirt tonight after fixing the Turbine Speed Sensor wiring and it HAULS! (even with an exhaust leak ) Dyno graph - I've got them but can't put them up - no scanner I'll see what I can do at work tomorrow. More Photos of Flex Plate Damage: -
Can any R34GTT AUTO owners out there please do me a HUGE favour and take a photo of the Turbine Speed Sensor plug in the engine bay? It's a grey plug with three wires going into it from the G/BOX. Need a photo of the plug from the Gearbox side, not the engine side... had a small accident when taking the box off n pulled all three pins out of the plug. Many thanks in advance, S

Little update: New plate has been installed and the car is now ready to commence tuning again... will have more results in a few days (hopefully). Also got more photos of the original flex plate damage, will upload shortly... let's just say it's EXTREME! For those that are interested... just doing a batch of FX this morning and thought I might play around with some JPY On the corporate account; normal rate is 66.4000 whilst a requested dealer rate is at 67.2000 Just for a comparo; I've just got off the phone with my own bank manager - best rate she can do for me on $10,000 AUD is 66.9000 akeenan; I assume you have container loads of Yen which you want to exchange for AUD Projected low points are between now and mid-November. Don't forget that these are projections and are subject to change if more poo hits the world-fan. There's another report coming out on Monday which will be more "accurate".

RBA cutting rates will lead to commercial banks cutting rates... this will mean that common plebs like you n I who have mortgages will get some relief from high mortgage repayments due to higher rates (assuming you're on a variable rate loan). For those who are on a fixed rate loan - yeah not much difference
