  1. R34s all the way!!! It's defintely worth the extra bit of debt! There aren't that many 34s around compared to 33s so you might as well be different!
  2. Yeah, the planks of wood idea is floating around at the moment... we literally have a massive "V" in our driveway that kills many cars (so many pizza delivery cars have copped it hard). Tomorrow morning, 6 pieces of wood will be sawn up and laid down to "bridge" the divide... hopefully it works! I got my car on Thursday (8/6/05), had the suspension done on Saturday (11/06/05) and am now trying to figure out the driveway on Sunday (12/06/05) - I think this is overkill!!!!
  3. I think it's a combination of the bad driveway, and the lowered car... my 34 managed to clear the low ground before the suspension got put in, but now it doesn't!!! So what's your remedy? Or is the 1mm enough each time?
  4. Hi Just like to find out if I'm the only person who has a ****ed up driveway and takes about 10 minutes getting their car in or out? If by chance you are/were one of these people, do share your remedies... even though my 34's front bar will come out sooner or later, it hurts me just the same when I hear any scratch!!!
  5. I've got a Tiptronic Auto at the moment... the semi-manual shifter is already a lot of fun. Just need to get the dynamics of it totally correct. Went to NSPM today to get a Xenon Lights upgrade (actually a swap with another car awaiting compliance). In the meantime, I also picked up a set of TEIN adjustable suspension coilovers... ride is much better, harder and steadier - only problem is that it has lowered my car to a level which doesn't allow me to get into my own driveway!!! BUGGER! Will work something out tomorrow morning. Any of you guys from the Northshore? Missus says "hi"
  6. Who stocks the styling parts... C-West sounds good!! And yes, it's an Auto (hangs head in shame), I can drive manual - but unfortunately my missus cannot! So what's the best option from here? Thanks guys!
  7. Just had my R34 for a few days after going to Northshore Prestige Motors in Manly... For $28,000 flat I picked up a stock R34 25GT-T. Condition was totally immaculate, 38K kms, 1 year rego, 1 year warranty. Now admittedly, I've known the dealers for years and I must say that I got cut quite a nice deal, but it is possible. They have a Nismo R34 in there for about $34K too. Well, my $28k was well spent, I don't regret it one bit... hope it all goes the same for you!
  8. I'm with Just Car Insurance 40% NCB $2450.00 19 years old R34 25GT-T (no mods)
  9. Hello there, Just got my Skyline... I live in the Beacon Hill area (NFSU2 brought my suburb to fame - NOT!!!). I've got about 4 other Skyline neighbours, but haven't really gone around to talking to them yet. Northern beaches cruising sound fun... Where do I go to find out if there is one on?
  10. Hello to all you fellow 34 goers... Just bought my R34 GT-T, and was wondering if I could round up some advice/opinions on where to go next. I don't want to be jumping into any big projects before considering all options. Advice Sought After: 1) Basic Performance Upgrades 2) Intermediate Performance Upgrades 3) "Let's not go there" Performance Upgrades 4) Audio Systems that work well in a R34 (or any ICE systems) 5) Styling Advice If you guys/girls can give me some idea of where to start looking that would be great. I can't seem to find much in terms of the 34 in Australia at the moment. Thank you all for your help~
  11. Totally uncalled for... those kids simply didn't understand the dangers they were getting themselves into. Obviously, if they had more understanding of how the car worked, and the conditions, the incident wouldn't have happened. But; nonetheless, the past is the past and the dead will be dead - so leave them alone. You wouldn't want someone chanting about your death, even if it was legit!
  12. I think it does not apply to you since your incident date was before the law was passed (July 11)... however, if it is a condition that you have to resit the Ps tests in order to regain your license, it could be a different story. How long after the 11th are you to get the new license? Better to ask the RTA for confirmation on that one. Good Luck~
  13. Everyone should go get a copy of the Daily Telegraph today... it has answers to many of the questions floating around; but in a nutshell - 1) Rules only apply to those who get their Ps on or after July 11 2005 2) Those caught breaking this law will get $375+ fine and 4 demerit points 3) Those who lose their license will be subject to the same rules upon reinstatement 4) Those who currently own the vehicles or plan to buy vehicles have no worries so long as you don't lose your license. Grab a copy and read - the RTA site is still empty on this matter. To many it will be a big sigh or relief ~
  14. I just think all of this is a load of bull implemented by the government as a vehicle to collect more votes from a wavering society. All of this is just a cheap, risk-free adjustment to the system to take the heat off other issues such as public transport, water (or lack of), and health. The government doesnt really care about who dies and at what age, they just want the media off their backs about the bad things, and praising them about the good things - "Daily Telegraph" - Victory for the People (aren't we people to?) I am a final year P2 holder, bought a Skyline days ago, clean driving record... i don't think i am the "hoon" that they have branded me as. Furthermore... I read this on the SMH forum; if you were the author - this is just to show how much I appreciated your input. Compare a Skyline (or equivalent) to a less powerful car... we'll take the same year of manufacture, same price, but different engines. 1) Much smaller brakes 2) Probably no airbags 3) No ABS, HICAS, Traction Control Even though driving a less powerful car sounds correct; it is not necessarily as safe? Anyone concur...
  15. You shold have told the cop to stop being so jealous - tell him to stop wasting his time earning 30k, risking his life, and not receiving any workplace insurance benefits! Sorry to hear about your car... But I agree, any car regardless of speed, age or price is a target.

  18. I called them today and you will not believe what I got told: "I'm sorry sir, we don't have information on that as yet... we are being briefed on that today, may I suggest you call back another time?" When I proceeded to ask whether or not the rules applied for old timer P plates she just said "I wouldn't think so". Regardless of what happens, policing this in NSW will be a nightmare - I just can't believe my tax money is being wasted like this especially when there are "crimes" much worse than driving high powered vehicles.
  19. If this is true then i am very very relieved... I literally bought my Skyline days ago only to wake up to this piece of bullshit in the paper! I've been trying to read up on the legislation that was actually passed - but can't seem to find it. The Daily Telegraph stated that the changes would not affect anyone who was already on P1 and P2, but other sources say it's a blanket ban (well that is the general impression anyway). I have 1 year until my full liscence, so either the rules don't apply to me now or I'll just have to lock my ride up for a year!
  20. All I want to know is if the new rules will affect existing drivers on the P1 and P2 liscence? I just bought a new Skyline literally days ago and this is really causing me headaches!!!
  21. The place where I got my Skyline will soon be importing Evos from Japan. I believe they would have the means to comply them if they are to import them. Northshore Prestige Motors down in Manly Vale. Top guys, very nice to deal with...
