    Bikes In Japan

Thanks for the heads up. I've checked out the bike market on goobike and they seem horribly overpriced... is that normal? It seems you can't get anything gsxr, zxr ninja, r1/r6 or cbr600/900/1000 for under 450,000 yen. To get anything 2000 or later, and its mega-bucks. For the price of an S15 or low kms R33 GTR, I'll be lucky to get a k1 or newer GSXR-600 Do you have to pay a regular (and just as expensive shaken) on bikes? Obviously no cost of parking space as would be needed with a car? I noticed people talk about bikes being 'full power/euro spec' or otherwise 'jap spec'. Does this mean all the sports bikes are detuned/slower than the equivalent models we get imported here to Australia?
  2. Hi there, Cleaning out the garage and getting rid of all my old car stereo equipment. 1 x Crossfire CFA402 Mosfet - $75 2 channel 400w amp. Bridgeable. Very capable amp by a top US brand - I had it running 2 x 12' RF subs a couple years ago and it worked a treat. Good condition, still with all fuses and connections intact and working. 1 x Axis AX404A Mosfet - $50 4 channel, 400w amp. Bridgeable. Slightly cheaper brand, but still performed well - had it running 2 6 x 9's and a good splits up front - never missed a beat. 1 x Sony X-Plod, CDX-CA890X - $80 Excellent deck. Was top of the range model about 2.5 years ago. Runs MP3/MD/CD. Plenty of options, big lit-up screen, detachable face, 52W x 4 output etc etc. Only thing is, missing the remote. Car was broken into once, and the remote was taken, left behind the deck though - no damage. Need this stuff gone. Prices are negotiable IF all sold in one big lot, prefer it that way actually, as need this stuff gone as its all taking up room. All good equipment, only a few years old, so not the new-fangled latest and greatest. But if you want a good quality stereo system yet are on a budget, you won't find one any cheaper than this. Located in Melbourne (Flemington). Direct email please as I rarely check this site - [email protected] / 0405 143 393

    Bikes In Japan

Hi guys, We all know the awesome prices that can be had for those of us lucky to be living in Japan and buying local Japanese performance turbo cars. I've checked out www.carsensor.net and www.goo-net.com/english. I also ride as well, and was curious to see if anyone here knows much about how much savings can be had in owning a 600cc or greater, GSXR/CBR/R1/Ninja whilst living in Japan. Do you know what they sell for? Or, any Jap bike websites where I can see them for sale and can search through (similar to carsensor and goo)?
  4. I think you might be right. Those bloody Japanese!! Always making it hard for us I've scoured everywhere, but to little avail... I might try one of the yahoo japan "bridge" pages and see if that works
  5. Hi guys, I noticed in another thread people discussing Import Monster as 'middleman' to source parts from Japan. Other people chimed in and said that they themselves instead shop direct through Yahoo Japan, and have picked up plenty of bargains on there. I'm moving to Japan in the new year, and will be teaching there, and taking over about $12k to buy (hopefully) a nice R33 GTR, or an S15. Was curious to see where and how I could get s/h used performance parts. I see plenty of complete cars for sale in Japan with loads of mods, and am wondering where all the used perf parts go. I know the Japanese have an obsession with everything being new, so naturally there has to be some bargains to be had. Plenty of Aussie importers here are selling all sorts of hard core gear, but then again I'm guessing they are able to buy complete cars only to cannabilise them for parts to sell here in Oz. In your guys honest opinion, would Yahoo Japan be the best bet for a 'gaijin' living and working in Japan (and on a budget), to source good quality brand name parts CHEAP to mod up his ride? I have tried to use the Yahoo Jap site before, and couldn't work out how to language translate it. Is there a direct web link for an Enlish version? How do you guys navigate the site?
  6. Hi guys, I have my Soundstream Tarantula amplifier for sale. This is the BAD BOY of amps, you can run your entire system off this one amp, or get two of them and go out and start entering competitions (one guy I read up about pumped 151db from his system with two of these animals in his car). This is BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN OUT OF THE BOX. I bought it for my Sti and never got the funds to buy the rest of the stereo to add to the amp. So the amp just sat in the box. And now is the time to get rid of it, coz I simply dont have the money to add the rest of a quality full house system to match this amp. Im asking $1600 Details are as follows - Fully regulated MOSFET power supply Specific to the TR500/4 and TR800/5 Triple Darlington output circuitry Continual variable high and low pass crossovers Selectable Differentially balanced inputs Bi-Linear built-in selectable 2-way crossovers for amplifier and line output Platinum RCA inputs and outputs Patinum 2-gauge power connectors Tri-mode operation All chrome plated Specifications Output Power: 4 ohm 2 ohm Bridged @ 4 ohm 50 x 4, 200 x 1 100 x 4, 400 x 1 200 x 2, 400 x 1 THD: <0.03% Freq. Resp. 10 - 50k S/N Ratio >115dB Damping Factor >500 Input Sens. 0.15 - 12.0V Crossover Slope 12dB Crossover Freq. 30 - 4k Dimensions 24 x 12.25 x 4 Email for pics. Its a beast. Best price I found for them online was a place in NSW for $2099 on sale, cut down from $2499. UK has them at 750 pounds. With exchange rate this works out well over $2000, and considering it weighs nigh on 20 kg, you wouldnt even want to know what postage from UK, or even NSW, would cost. Email - [email protected] - 0405 143 393 Cheers Dave
  7. This may be a stupid question - but does it come with the TT kit?
  8. Hi Just blew up one of the turbos up in my R32 GTR. Trying to source a s/h replacement factory turbo to replace the damaged one in there now. [email protected] 0405 143 393 Cheers Dave
  9. For sale R32 GTR 5 spd box. Third gear synchro damaged so always crunches shifting into third. If you double-declutch its fine - indicating syncro wear, as opposed to gear wear. Apart from this drives fine - all other syncros good, and drives in all gears fine. No bearing whine at all. Good for a rebuild, or as a donor box to turn into a dog box, or good for sourcing donor parts for a rebuild on another box (RB25, 26 or 30... many parts inter-changeable so I'm told) Open to offers. 10. Yeah they are actually bought before the 15 year rule change so are able to be sneaked in... From my knowledge of ridiculously large turbos, I imagine the T78 equipped one would be dicier as a daily driver... With the lag, you will watch all the festivas and hyundais scream past on a green light... then count 1,2,3 and deafen them with your external wastegate as you fly past at mach 3 with ur pants on fire Laggy... but extremely fun at the same time I guess the GT35's would spool up quicker, so could be more fun to drive point-to-point, without having ridiculous lag before party time... Guess its up to individual taste isnt it heehee Would the GT35's flow as much as a single T78??
  11. The pc crashed when i first sent it... SO wasnt sure if it got through or not
  12. Hey there peoples, Im looking to find any good sites around the place on powerups for GTR's. Im in the market to buy one, and have found a few modified ones, but am completely unsure as to how much power they would put out etc, and I really want to find out so i can factor into my buying. They are imports and are waiting in Japan, so i have no way to drive them I figure if anyone will know - you guys will One is a twin Garrett GT35 equipped R32, with bigger injectors and a lot of other aftermarket gear. I dont know if the motor has been rebuilt or anything... WHat sort of horsepower would this be putting out? What sort of potential quarter mile times when fully tuned and running sweet?? There is another for sale with a single big ass Trust T78... Again, what sort of times and power would this have potential for? Which would be the potentially quicker, and likely more street driveable example of the two?? Cheers guys for any info Dave
