  1. Hey guys, thanks for all you're advise its all come in handy and we've now fixed the issue. It came down to a simple split in the vacuum hose at the sensor end and also we cleaned up the contact terminals of the sensors as well, this fixed the issue right away. Front torque gauge also works, it was more or less dormant as we haven't pushed the car in anyway but took the car out to the farm on the weekend and as soon as we hit dirt road sure enough the gauge kicked in. It's amazing how a little back tracking through the sensors and hoses turns out something so small and yet enough to disable the gauge, we ended up finding another sensor way out of nowhere where the issue was with the hose, but funny to think out of the 3 or 4 sensors required to figure vacuum that unless all sensors are plumbed correctly theres zero response from the gauge. Anyway thanks again problem solved
  2. Hey everyone, its been ages since I've been a part of the forums but I've recently bought my other half a Series 2 Stagea RS4 S manual. It's a great car defiantly what we were looking for after owning an R33 but now with family future in mind we needed something else without making much sacrifice. The main issue which I'm having is with the factory fitted gauges, the only gauge that functions correctly is the voltage meter, the front torque meter is unresponsive and boost gauge only sits at 0 even under boost. The Turbo is defiantly boosting correctly there is no hesitation or leaking just no response from the gauge. If anyone could point me in the right direction with where I should start looking it would be greatly appreciated, the needles on the gauges do operate as they do fall when the engine is off and will move when the ignition is on. The car is completely stock. Thanks in advanced.
  3. Ok, so I've tried contacting a couple of places in NZ about these Coby extractors they make for the RB25DE engine, A full 2 weeks have gone by, and I have not recieved a word from either Partsco or this other NZ exhaust shop about getting the extractors sent to Australia. I unfortunatly missed the boat twice now when there was a group buy happening, I was just wondering, will there be another group buy again soon or if not, how else can I go about getting these extractors. It's not entirely urgent but I have been wanting to make this happen since I heard aftermarket extractors where made for the N/A R33.
  4. Actually, now that the fuel pump has been brought up, just wondering if anybody else has experincenced anything simular. Basically, I never like to run my fuel down low I've always made it a habbit to keep the tank full, I've only ever used 96-98 petrol from either mobil or BP but when the indicator says around 1/4 left or sometimes even just under the half way mark between the two, it feels as if the car is sometimes finding it hard to bring in fuel when its needed. Like as if theres hardly any petrol in the tank that what it feels like, but the pump isnt carrying on or anything but as soon as I fill it up to full the problem just seems to go away, not 1 bit of hesitation. I thought maybe it could of been the fuel pump getting on its last legs, I wouldnt know when it was last changed. But i doubt it would be anything as serious as having sludge or water sitting on the bottom of the tank would it?
  5. Hey everyone, just to keep it short - my original shocks and springs on the back my NA r33 gts are very badly worn and I am needing complete replacments for front and rear but I'm confused to know what to do with aftermarket options. I dont need anything over the top, im actually happy with the current ride height but I can go lower if need be. However, I thought I'd ask here first what is going to fit my R33 as a direct replacement all round? Will shocks/springs from a R33 GTS-T fit or are they worlds apart?
  6. Hey everyone, just thought I would put the question forward to everyone who reads and replies. I'm at the stage of servicing my R33 and I wanted to really take care of it to ensure longer life. Some things dont actually need replacing urgently but while I have the money to do so, I'd like to take care of most things in one go while im at it. Anyway, its just clocked over 110,000km, I had the timing belt, water pump, radiator piping and few other bits and pieces replaced about 5000km ago but that pretty much drained my pockets but I knew they had to be done. So what I'm after, is what everyone has used to keep their 33's running smoothly and where abouts they got the part(s). While im asking, there have been a few puzzling things I havent been able to find out about. I'm going to be replacing my break pads and obviously going to have to have my rotors machined but in case ive reached my minimum thickness, how do I go about getting replacements for both front and rear? DBA dont seem to have the NA 4-stud rotors listed anyware. Sorry for a lengthy post, thought I'd get everything out in 1 post rather than start many.
