  1. I will be assembling the new stroker bottom end soon. The custom rods arrived today

This will be run on my exact same setup that I have used with the 3.0L bottom end. Same turbo, head, comp ratio, cams, exhaust, etc etc

So I will be able to overlay my previous setup compared with the stroker engine ( ie dyno power and torque curves )

So a straight up comparison will be available.

  2. I knew there was something I forgot :-) Thanks Greg

"and machine the outside of it to allow it to fit down the bore"

Allow a easy $130 plus per rod to get all the machining done, plus the intitial cost of the rods.

  3. I reply to all my emails usually within 24 hrs - so I obviously didnt get yours.

    I never reply to PM's

Sorry if I didnt reply to your phone message, but as I only have one number I do get alot of them.

I have a set of SCAT H beams identical to whats been mentioned in my 25/30.

All up it cost me $900 with machining done by myself.

When I was shopping for rods, Spool Conrods never replied to emails, pm's or messages left on the phone...and I waited months. :P

  4. This has been covered numerous times,

You will find it more expensive to do this procedure than to buy a set of rods designed for RB30

As mentioned about 2 mm is require to be machined off the b/e and small end sides, the small ends then need to be rebushed, the bearings also need to be narrowed, the b/e tunnels then need to be resized due to the narrowing process distorting the b/e tunnel of the rod. From memory 60thou Chev bearings are required, and then the std crank has to be machined 7 thou to suit the new b/e tunnel size.

  5. I have received the 2 x 95mm stroke cranks. I am going to build a new bottom end for my engine using one of them. I will use the exact same supporting parts ( head, turbo, cams, exhaust etc etc ) as on my current RB30/25. This way I can do a back to back comparison between the two engines ( apples to apples ) and overlay the two dyno charts. By doing this there will be something to compare the stroker crank setup to, as opposed to just building a completely new engine and having no base as a comparison.

I am just waiting on the new rods to go with the cranks and I can start the build.

Ill post up some pics of the cranks soon.

  6. I have 2 RB30 stroker crank samples , 12 custom rods and 12 custom CP pistons due mid July. A trial engine will be assembled and run, then if all is ok production will start.

So hopefully all things being equal Ill have kits ready to go Nov/Dec this year.

I just received my first CA18 and SR20 stroker cranks - pics or of CA18 87.6mm

  7. Ive never broken one - engine has been in the car two years ??

    Somethings wrong somewhere

Any one else experience this ? i have replaced them time after time and they keep destroying themself's. I have tried a nismo one and that broke too.

If i give it a hard time they break more often, usualy they last 2 months or so. I need to fix this problem. This is a street legally engineered car so i do not want solid mounts. has to be legal.

    any ideas anyone?

    $18590

    See pics here

  9. We will have to wait and see - but similar setups with the 3.4L 2JZ ( near identical bore stroke ratio ) have gone 8000 plus easily enough

Well the rb26 in thier Z drag car is seeing 10,000 rpm with the tomei pump so i would think rob has something sorted...

Spool, so you 3.4L kits will rev to 7500-8000rpm?

  10. Shaun O - around the $6500 - 7000 mark with the AUS dollar at its current rate. It should see 7500 - 8000 plus rpm depending on setup.

Gerg R31 - The reason is that you are the only person who has mentioned it, so Im presuming demand is minimal especially due to the price involved. The other reason is that no one readily and easily makes cast pistons in short runs or one offs. I could easily make you a forged piston for an NA set up though. You would just have to spec the comp ratio you require. The length of the skirt has nothing to do with the comp ratio.

  11. I have the limiter set at 8100 now.

The customer who ordered the Subaru cranks uses them in the EJ25 blocks from memory - std stroke on the ej25 is 79mm, but I believe they can be used in the EJ20 engine also which is 75mm stroke std and they resleeve them out to 100mm bores.

So you end up with around 2.6 litres

Im no Subaru head either :-) so I may be wrong
