Hey,
I just found out today that my R34 GTT has been fitted with a HUGE aftermarket oil cooling system that i didnt even know about! My mate showed me some pics in a mag of a stock R34 GTT oil cooler setup and asked where mine was and I got very pissed off that my car didnt have it. Then we took a look under the bonnet to double check that it definately wasnt there. I asked him where all my oil lines were and he searched but couldnt locate. Then he stepped back in disbelief and pointed to what i thought was my radiator. He went and grabbed his mags again and compared my car to the stock photos. It turns out my car has a HUGE 600mm oil cooler infront of my radiator along with an electric thermo fan bolted onto it, then my radiator sits where it should with another thermo fan bolted onto the other side. Then after closer investigation, it seems i may have a larger than stock radiator also... mine has a "CALSONIC" radiator with a chromish sticker saying "74" on it, but all the pics of the stock radiators in the mags had "71" on their sticker, so my mate thinks it may be a larger one... it also has nissan stampped into it... so we are not 100% sure.
This got me thinking more about my car, as I imported it directly from Japan only a few weeks ago, but I was told i was purchasing a fully stock one, but when it arrived, it was modded up nicely. When i got the car home and got fomfortable with the handling etc, i switched my electronic boost controller over to high boost and planted it, and to my horror, the boost guage in the dash which use to go up to .5 bar (7 psi) shot up past the 1.0 bar (14 psi) line and stopped at the end of the guage. I thought i had blown the engine or something but then tuned it back to run 12 psi on high boost for safeguarding the engine till i know what is going on etc.
Would it be possible at all to run at least 1 bar (14+ psi) using my stock injectors/computer etc??? I thought they were limited to 14 psi then they get a fuel cut to prevent damage etc? What would i need to do to see if i have larger injectors and an aftermarket computer without pulling the engine and car apart?????
Any help / comments / info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
