  1. Yeh id take a photo, then one of my line and compare. The other day I was carrying $3000 and I felt like every old granny that waslked past was gonna mug me. Never been so paranoid in my life. But $40000!! And a5h, $25000 ..! man ... get an escort or something.
  2. SO basically, as long as your saving, there is nothing wrong with a bank loan? I just think its good to ask ppl who have done all this b4 and are actively paying/paid the money back. n00b Strich9ine? Maybe to owning a skyline I guess.
  3. Hey cheers 33Spec2, Good to see a local. I take it your very happy with your car. 40 Hours a week and 2 jobs, man thats some serious work, you deserve what you've got, I couldnt stand 20 hours a week at McDonalds! So you think I should import? I guess I will have to look at all my options as soon as Ive put together enough money. Did you pay for all of it yourself? Ive been constantly warned about insurance from my father and also on this site, though I expected it to be astronomical. Pity so many young people are getting themselves killed (like an old school mate of mine just south of Perth Friday night, you might have seen it on the news). Anyway, I hope I can join the 'skyline owners club' fairly soon.
  4. Hell yeh. Custom plates, i think about them when I have the car.
  5. Sounds like he's doing alright. Seems like quite a few people go for loans and no-one seems to have any complaints. Like I said b4, maybe I can get my parents to pay half or just under and pay for the rest myself and getting a loan. See how it goes anyway.
  6. I agree with that. If I had a line in my garage just looking at it would make me go queezy. Im also glad to hear that you have no regret, and that you know you have made the right choice.
  7. good work ... I guess that's what im gonna have to do .. just keep working at it .. no easy way out. Makes me jealous of those Japanese you see driving 'round in their lines and supra's when I know damn well that they're parents paid for it. Still, at least when you buy it yourself you'll learn to appreciate it.
  8. OK thanks alot for you help kamikaze, I'll go on a lookout for a local job, see if I can't get some money in. Hopefully I'll be owing a skyline sooner than I think. Cheers.
  9. so maybe I should wait .... geez its all so hard
  10. why will teh prices drop?
  11. oh right. ... yeh my friend borrowed 7k and had to get all his pay slips in order. I spose the interest I pay on the loan will be roughly made up for If I Buy after the scheme anyway. Hmm ... don't really know what to do ...
  12. SO am I I dont like the sound about the price hike, but then again who does? (unless your selling I guess). I might just have to look at getting a loan, searching for the best price I can and hope to get one for a decent price. "rolleyes"
  13. lol ... except what you left on the garage floor hmm ... 8 days to save 16k. well it looks like I'll have to save a bit longer then So I guess that means a couple of extra thousand $$. So when are you able to get in yours and drive away and have you registered it and everything yet? Still ... you could make TWO black lines while your waiting I guess.
  14. Yes, I know I should try not to be impatient but we all no that waiting sucks. I have decided on the R32 GTS4 over a LONG period of time (Time is what I have). I know everyone hates these questions when they come up but Im a bit confused about the cost of a GTS4. I know you can get GTS-t's from between 13.5k imported to up to around 19k local. The GTS4 however seems to be quite a bit more expensive, I've seen '93 models going for as much as 21k, but this was probably just a bad example. I will wait ... as long as this new scheme doesnt bite me (cause insurance is already gonna take a huge chunk). Maybe I SHOULD keep it in my garage and wait till I can cover on-road costs etc. At least I can keep it cleaner that way.
  15. Oh k. Was it you KamikazeR33 that was saying earlier that you werent able to drive your skyline cause your 18 and on your P's? I NEED a skyline and I mean need one. I almost had a fit today while browsing the forums cause I want one that bad, other thing is the deadline with the new import scheme etc. I've been offered a job at any McDonalds in Perth but I mean come on .. its maccas for christs sake. Im also studying full time at Uni which also makes earning dosh much harder. Do you guys advise getting a 20k loan if its possible? My parents are pretty well off I guess and they know damn well I want a line so I was thinking maybe 10k bank 10k parents since no interest on parents loan. Dammit, no financial freedom. Dammit, no financial freedom
  16. Back to when you first bought your Skyline's, (which is going back for a lot of you, I know), how did you manage to come up with the cash? Im mainly focussing this question on those in the 18 - 19 yo age group because 16k + is a lot of $$$ when your that young and likely still at school/Uni/TAFE. Im kinda curious 'cause im 19 and I have no idea what I could do/could have done to come up with enough money, apart from taking out a SERIOUS bank loan, if they' approve it. Cheers
