  6. i am currently building a rb30det for my r32, i am using the head from a rb25de from a r32 and a standard rb30 bottom end that is just getting cleaned up. ( new rings, balance and bearings). my power goal is around the 300 - 350 rwkw.. i have r31Nismoids old gt30r turbo, sard 550cc injectors, cometic metal head gasket, remapping the ecu, etc... i just have a couple of questions for you - what valve springs sould i use?? i read in the rb30 thread that the ones i have are to weak and i could use rb20 springs, but mine have done round the 250,000 kms mark and are prob worse than the ones in there.. what do you suggest for my power goals?? - will the oil pump from the rb25de or rb20det be ok to use or should i go for a new n1 pump? - should i get a jun crank collar or will what i have done and what power i am aiming for i wont need it? (i wont be reving it past 7000rpm) i dont have a vey high budget and if there are any other worthwhile things i should do, or have left out please let me know everything is getting sent off tomorrow.. i have read the rb30det thread and these are the things i was still wondering about.. thanks leigh.
  7. if you use a 10mm spacer the turbo will fit on the manifold..
  8. are the z32 airflow meters in good condition? do they come with plugs?
  9. i do have the manifold but i am using it for my new setup.. it is a standard manifold that has a flange cast welded to it to suit the external gate.. so the turbo does sit on the standard manifold with a 10mm spacer.. you can cast weld a flange in there, you can also buy a spacer of a trader on here (cant remember their name) that has an adaptor for an external gate.. or buy a ebay manifold for $200 to suit the external gate..
  10. blooddsword27: frankston is s.e subs of melbourne.. the turbo is in excelent condition no shaftplay at all!! Drift learner: yep bolts straight up to an r32, all you need to do is get some rubber hose and cut the lines that went to the rear hicas unit and loop them up.. then get a wheel alignment done.. its very easy to do, look in the DIY section i am sure there is a thread explaing how to do it.

  12. i am currently in the same position.. and i have gone with an rb25det.. an rb30det is a lil to much for what i want to do and spend.. in terms or reg and rwc.. i dont know how it is in queensland but there is a gray area in vic, r32 did come out with a rb25de and for them to accept it you need to prove that it came with that engine.. and if i need to i will just pull the turbo off for them to accept it then put it back on.. or you can just get a engineers for arrond $600 but you may need to change other things like breaks, etc... if you chasing 300rwkw you will need a bigger turbo and eventually need a rebuilt engine.. it really depends on how much you are willing to spend, how much of the work you can do, and much you cant do to determine price.. there is alot of information on this site about this so do a search you will find the information you need.. hope what i have said makes sense..

  14. ok guys thanks for all the help i will get onto those things and if the problem persists i will post again.. it doesnt bother me to much as i am puting a rb25 with r31Nismoids old gt30 in, in the next couple of months. thanks leigh.
  15. i just hooked up the standard wires to it... but t has been like that for about a year.. wha should i do? run a relay?

  17. nah all speeds, all gears but yeah under low load... it even happens under no load.. like coasting down gears..
  18. then if you want to run more that 12 - 14 psi go for a highflow or something else.. it all depends on your power goals...
  19. yeah i know the o2 sensor is fine.. what is the best way to find out if the afm is gone?? the car idols fine without a hint of a miss.. as i said it is very random when it happens, like it will happen 4-5 times in a row then be fine for another 15-20 mins of driving...
  20. my car is a r32 gtst type m 1992. things i have done to fix the problem... - clean AFM - change fuel filter - change O2 senser - changed and re gapped plugs to 0.7 - cheacked coil packs.. no cracks but siliconed them up anyway... this misfire is not the usual cough or flutter when you hit boost, this misfire happens when i am cruising at low revs, it is very random. and the whole car basically turns off for 1-4 seconds then runs again... sort of like the car stalls then role starts itself and runs again.. but smothly..??? i hope this is making sense... could it be the ignitor box? because this controles all the coil packs? or a loose wire? i have no idea any help would be good.. thanks leigh

  22. i made my own piping to meet up with stock plumbing in the engine bay.. not very hard.
