  1. 96 series II, awesome condition, inside is like new, body work is probably the straightest skyline i have seen. every mechanic that has looked at it comments on how neat it is underneath and how healthy it is.

plates '96 GTR' can be sold with the car or seperately.

    including plates $34,500

just had timing belt fitted, new pads with disks machined, full service, has quality alarm fitted with turbo timer and remote central locking, Nismo 400r wheels, falken 451 265's, king springs, and runs beauifully.

I look after this car like its a baby, reluctantly selling to move to UK, it took me a long time to find this car.

Have used car as daily driver since i bought it with 78k on the clock, regularly serviced and currently has 102 on it.

  2. jlnewton... probably frankxinyu or whatever his name is... he lives around boondall and has a Blue R33 LM GTR.

Spotted [96 GTR] on the way home tonight on Gympie road at Chermside. Both gave and received waves!

yeah man, im always about, i drive every day as a rep and play in a band on weekends, I was probably on my way to play at gilhooleys that night ( second gear is the name of the band ).

  3. I recently bought a 96 series II and I would say buy as later model as you can, I found a big difference between the brakes on the95's to the 96 series 2's but it could have just been the 5 that i drove. also Vspec additions have quite a few differences, water cooled diff and gearbox 10mm lower and some other bits i think.

There are tons of mechanics that can coach you through the best mods for daily driving. I am also interested in this as I drive mine every day also and am soon going to start modding. Issue 56 of HPI has a good article on a GTR built for reliability but nothing too crazy providing 361kw at all four with twin turbo setup and only about 15k spent on it.

Anyhow they are a great car, lots of fun and very tough so your pretty safe.

  4. Read the article a HPI archive edition (52 it think)

RBlack 34 with lots of mods that privide low down grunt and 650hp suited for daily driver.

Sounds very interesting indeed however no power curve was shown, HKS' variable valve timing on the car aparantly coupled with the added volume is providing this increased drivability.

Does anyone know anything about this car? and havs anyone seen a dyno sheet from this car. I am very interested in pricing similar mods to obtain this result.

  5. This has probably been asked before many a time. But, I am trying organise me and some friends to come to one of these track days and they are all asking me about insurance, costs licences etc. please can someone confirm the following

Insurance does not cover you if you crash on the track ?

you do not need a Cams liscence ?

its somehting like $110 for the day.

  6. so in short..

    increased flow with better clearance.

    so there is a reason.

what if your turbos WERE sequentially staged, would there not be greater benefit to running completley seperate systems?

because from a pressure point of view if one turbo is reacting first would that not create an increase in pressure behind that turbo and where the pipes join create back pressure for the second turbo ???

  7. they are identical turbos mate, not sequentialy staged. Providing of course you own a GTR i suggest you run outside and have a look under the bonnet. or drive it. then tell us if you think it's sequential turbo or not.

oh yes! its a GTR, took it for a couple of hot laps around the block just to make sure, he he.

No i dont think they are sequential.

wish you could just throw one on to see what it sounds like.

  8. It will sound crap. There is no "if"

early turbo and late turbo? a RB26 isnt a sequentially turbo'd motor

Thanks for that, sounds like you saved me some greif, I allways thought they were identical turbos but someone recently told me they weren't. I thought they might be wrong cos i had never read anything like that.

    cheers for the help!!

  9. I want it to purr like it does with standard exhaust, but gain some power.

will run them next to each other and ad a crossover later if it sounds crap.

Have a theory that the early turbo will create back pressure to the late turbo if the pipes are joined. Could be wrong, dont know too much about cars but would like to try it.
