I'll be using a ROSS balancer for my build. Not sure of the differences compared to Ati (apart from price), but my mechanic uses it on all his builds and recommended it to me.

6. COMETIC 1.3mm x 2 Layers
Am I reading this right, 2.6mm of gasket? What CR you getting with this?
-
Fark, are you serious? It's what I get for not posting for 2 years

Ya, Police Unclaimed & Forfeited Property Auction. Wonder how it got there? Didn't think we've had any cars confiscated by the hoon law in WA. Its stock in any case, right down to the factory radio/cassette deck.

+1 for Danny @ Imports101.

You'd probably know about it if it was running out of fuel.
Might be spark. Guilt-Toy's suggestion is a good one. If 0.8 doesn't work, try 0.6. Also try cleaning your coil packs and insulating them with wd40 (spark takes path of least resistance if it can). There's a write up on this forum somewhere: search for it. If that helps, I'd probably think about splitfires and re-grounding coil pack wiring.

I've got a set of ebay knock off ganadors and they are utter rubbish. Although it was advertised to suit the car, it still took custom work to get them fitted. The controls are reversed vertically, so down is up and up is down. Aside from that that, the mirrors themselves don't have enough adjustment to let me see out - passenger or driver side. At full right tilt all I can see is the back seat of the car through the rear side window. Also, whatever you do manage to see through them is appears magnified, the exact opposite from "objects in the mirrors are closer than they appear" warning you see on normal (convex) mirrors.
Highly un-recommended.

try,
a blue marker or
blue model paint from a hobby shop.....
I tried blue marker on my 33. Didn't work, buttons still lit up yellowish.
About a year late, I know, but incase some one searches later...

Theres also quad bike tours that are a bit of fun. Run by a friendly guy, with an even friendier dog that can out pace the quads at full pace!
-
Yup! I got my tix. I'll see all you old school crew there
-
Bl4cK32, I see you have a spare spot in the N92447 buy. Put me down for a set to go in a R32.

I will have a new RB25DET installed in my R33 very soon. If you are in the market for a R33, this is the perfect time to talk about performance mods before the engine goes in. The car itself is a very clean 1993 Gunmetal Grey R33 GTS25t with only the factory body kit (no rice!). Suspension components have been selectively matched and modified:
- Blistein shocks + King springs (done <5000km since install)
- Whiteline adjustable sway bars front and rear
- HICAS lock kit
- Subframe lock bushes
-
All bushes replaced with polyurethane equivalents (front upper control arm, radius rod, rear upper inner & upper outer control arm bushes)
The engine going in is an unmodified RB25DET with around ~70k kms. You have the choice of using the stock intercooler or a 600x300x75 core for an extra $800. With the included turbo back exhaust and s-afc, this combination is good for 280rwhp. If no one expresses an intrest in keeping the fmic on the car, the stock cooler will have to go back in which is a shame.
Looking for $16k. Pics on demand.

Another thumbs up for imports101.

Able i am...
Quick list of specs off the top of my head:
Venolia 86.5mm forged pistons with N1 Rings
Tomei 260degree 9.15mm lift cams inlet/exhaust
Tomei adjustable cam gears inlet/exhaust
Nismo Big End bearings
Valve Guides
Mines Rocker cover baffles
Garrett GT30 Turbo rated @ 600HP
Stainless Steel Turbo Manifold
Sard 700cc injectors
1.2mm Tomei metal head gasket
Greddy Oversized Pulley Kit
Custom made sump
Custom made fuel rail
Plus head been ported and flowed...
RB26 head... and block by the looks of things. Excellent stuff dude, hope it does the buisness. What are the Mines Rocker cover baffles about if you don't mind asking.
Will the standard rb26 rods hold the power you want? And who did the sump?
-
RB25DET ~2.2k without turbo. Over 3k for a low k with turbo. And then you'll need the gearbox to keep it on the road with moderate power.
-
Not to mention combustion chamber diameter. 86mmish for the 25/26/30.
-
masTers, 15k is a safe minimum and more is not unheard of.
IMACUL8, as I mentioned in the other thread, I will talk about it but not now. Too calm at the moment. Will have to wait till I get a bit boozy and can just let it flow.
No more pms please ppl I've been inundated by ppl who want to know about ants l33t engine bulding skillz - well you'll all have to wait! (at least till we confirm what we suspect. don't want to be unfair)

Having said that I still stand by all the stuff I have said about Xspeed, and I'm happy to recommend them to anyone:cheers:
Fair enough. I should probably make clear that I've used Xspeed in the past and have found Hans to be an exceptionally helpful fella, so nothing against them as a company.
Too bad he ain't there anymore.
I saw your post on anti lag - and if they banned you for that - fark them.Werd.
-
IMACUL8, no problems dude. A full log of the events that took place will be on my web site soon enough. Lets see fcukers try to pull that down. It's a sad, sad tale, and watching people sing the praises of someone my grandmother could out-engine-build is even sadder.
dan_the_man, no problems
-
Now now Dan lets not be bad mouthing ppl.
Boostzor, I don't think dan was bad mouthing anyone. I, on the other hand, have many interesting things to say about this subject as I recently pointed out on antilag (and got subsquently banned). What was it you said teejay, that I wouldn't have the guts to speak my mind on sau? Well, guess what...
Why wouldn't you go where they have one of the best tuners and best engine builders?Paul, one of the best - WHAT!? -
-
If its an RB25 head, you need RB25 cams.
RB20 cams (aftermarket or not) will fit.
Although, with a GT30 on an RB30det, you will not need cams in the slightest. Its gonna come on so early that in my opinion there is no need at all. Spend the $$ one something else will gain more benefit
Are you joking? Because I'm not laughing.
