  1. mate, i worked for a panel beater, and though the photos aren't brilliant for assessing the damage...it looks as if you may have bent the chassis rails..which can make her unfixable.

even to fix it, you'll notice a difference in handling due to stresses on the metal when she's bent back into shape.

you are looking at about 10k for a fix...i'd hope they write it off and go get yourself a new import R34 n/a or something similar..

hope it works out for ya mate.

  2. Unfortunately mate, 3G.. won't do a hell of a lot for you..

Once you pay for labour and all.... If you can do anything yourself... you'll save heaps in money and will therefore be able to do more...

What's your compression on that motor? Could bump up the comp a bit... port the head to get better flow... Change your cams... get a stand alone management system.... There's a few ideas... I'm a forced induction person so I'd just say force it but that will cost a bit.....

Have you got any ideas yet? Does that help?

i'm trying to avoid forced induction, mainly because of P-plate restrictions.....so i'm trying to keep the mods, below radar...but yeah a few people have suggested a new ECU...you are right about the budget tho, so i'll be doing as much as i can myself, thanks for the help though, cams seems like a route that may work

  3. i dunno...i reckon some of the better drivers out there could get through the street pretty easily...

a blind chimp could drive in a straight line...throwing a few bends in would make it more challenging and leave the races open to people who actually are capable of doing it....not every moron and his dog in their rice-mobiles

  4. if you dont know what you need.

you shouldnt be doing it yourself

    send it to a professional

oookay...relax, it's cheaper for me to do it myself...i know the essentials of pulling the engine apart for what i need to do, i also know how to work an airbrush with a little skill, the only thing i'm not sure of is how well the paint is going to hold on an alloy metal and in very high temperature.

hence i'm asking the question of WHERE to find paints and primers etc...let me worry about screwing my rocker covers if i get it wrong.

  5. As far as i've talked to my engineer and experienced, lambo (or scissor doors) are legal provided you haven't altered the crticial structure of the car. As for practicality; i find them easier to use than normal doors for getting into and out of the car (i'm a pretty big guy as well mind you) especially in tight spaces.

The only downside is that they cost a fortune to buy and install.

(Sidenote: they are called SCISSOR DOORS not GULLWING; gullwing hinge up at the top a la the DeLorean from "Back to The Future"...dunno how people get them confused :))

  6. Kamikaze motors down in rooks rd, nunawading are pretty decent from what i've heard...they carry a fair few skylines too; prices are around the average mark which is a bonus, plus they import to order as well i believe...(don't quote me on that)

  7. hey guys,

does anyone on here know of a place in melbourne (pref. near malvern) that sells automotive paint and the like? i'm painting a set of rocker covers but i'm having trouble tracking down a place that carries what i need to get the job done.

    thanks!

  8. hey, i wanna paint my rocker covers and other metal bits in my R34 GT...what's the best way to do it?

i'd like to paint them that rather nice Millenium Jade colour, does anyone know where i could track down the colour in victoria, as well as a place that would paint/powder coat (whichever is cheaper)?

    thanks for the help...

  9. Hey guys, i'm looking to buy a skyline sometime soon the only thing bugging me is can i drive an R33 GTS-T on Vic P-plates? does anyone have a kilowatt rating for the standard (non modified) GTST? all help is greatly appreciated!
