Boot Has Been Leaking For Ages. It's Now Rusting :(
conan7772 replied to KrazyKong's topic in General Maintenance
If the boot has been removed it could be leaking through the hinge bolts. Especially if you're parked facing downhill, the gutter can't drain. Doesn't hurt to get a colour matched Sikaflex and smear them neatly. Process of elimination. -
Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build
conan7772 replied to Hanaldo's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Dead right. When you start running 75 odd psi in your fuel system, you want everything 100 %. We had leaks on the first run and had to change all the seals on the injectors. At least you are aware now of the issue of different injector and rail problems. Not later when you're on the track, standing next to your car with an extinguisher. -
Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build

Hey, how sexy is the finish on those plenums. I considered fixing mine to my bedroom ceiling as a mirror for a little while but the wife didn't go for it. -
Hanaldo's R34 Gt(T) Skyline Build

Exciting stuff mate. You wait until you have that Plenum fitted Awesome throttle response. Engine roar will come alive like hell. You're not the only one with custom washer bottle/ catch can. Everyone with a Plazmaman had the same head scratcher, oh shit, bloody washer bottle is in the way. End of the day, You will love it. Watch those stock internals -
Yes they are the cheapest with their premiums but talk about shit service. We had our mini hit while it was parked. There were witnesses whom gave rego of the culprit who fled. The cops contacted him, he admitted fault to the accident. Bingle cross examined our story and accused us of making it up ! Just to have an existing dent repaired ! Even with the information in hand from the other driver saying I he it. We had it repaired but still had to fork out $550 excess. Now it's been 6 months and we are still waiting for our refund. The damages were $1100 which is nothing. Now they are saying after all this time the other insurance company is disputing the costs ! F^%$ing insurance companies

How To Remove Overspray ? Please Help
conan7772 replied to conan7772's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
thanks, yeah clay bar works, but scratches pretty bad. Anyone know a good detailer on the Northern Beaches of Sydney who'd be interested ? -
My idiot neighbour decided to restore a boat in his front yard. He sprayed it with white 2 Pac last Thursday and over the weekend after washing it I've noticed the whole car is covered. The car was locked up in a garage but the paint mist entered the top vents and settled everywhere. I've tried on the wing paint cleaner and a cleaner wax, but won't come off. If you pick hard with a finger nail at a spot, it will come off, but a scratch remains. He said he will have it cleaned up at his expense but I'm worried it will be cut back heavily. And yes the car is black, so every spot shows. It's all over the glass and lights too. Are there any special products made or any secret methods I could suggest ? cheers.

I thought all turbo engines need a BOV when you're running 20 odd psi. Otherwise : Surge = Turbo damage ?

Dude, I'm looking for a plumb back one that's quieter than what I have. Whilst I'm at it I don't want to drive around in a farting horse. Engine and exhaust notes are very important to some...

We can all just sit back and wait until we all own car trailers or stand up for our rights as car enthusiasts. It's getting worse, much worse every year. So let's be smart and know our shit. Speed cameras have now been reformed due to public uproar. If we all want to drive a Eunos ten years from now, we need to speak out loud. This so called hoon blitzing must be fairly targeted. Otherwise, ironically as it it is, the law is creating criminals.
-
Bump guys and girls. This is important. 10 years from now there might not be any Skylines left on the road !!

Ok with the increasing bullshit with Police blitzing I want to diagnose my exhaust Db myself and keep the device in my glove box. Should I ever be unlucky and be pulled over for inspection I am going to video the Police and record all their suspicions for perusal for my lawyer. I will insist on an on the spot test with my device to illustrate my awareness. I hope the Police will encourage my actions. What is the distance for the microphone off the exhaust outlet. I've read 1 metre, 525mm,... seems to be no constant clear instruction. How does the government expect us to conform with laws that aren't clearly stated. Anyway, I'm one not to back down. I'm 43 years old , have spent probably $43000 on my car, and will not quietly cage it. I've had my car since 2001 and haven't one infringement. So far I've been left alone and I respect the Police for that. I don't want that to change. There it is..

Right now I have an Apexi slide adjustable BOV to atmo with an RB25/30 with a GT3076R. It sounded better before with the old high flow on medium orifice. There was a relatively loud clean flutter that would growl deep and spook dogs. Now with the 3076 it is set on large orifice and doesn't flutter as nice and is also really F%$#@%^loud on high boost. When it releases the pssshhht, it's like someone is smashing a bottle right next to your head. Now with the cops increasingly picking on us I wanna plumb back. I don't think I can plumb back this BOV. I've heard a few S15's getting around with a really cool high pitch flutter. Not too loud, like a whistle lowering in pitch as it flutters. Can anyone tell me which BOV's do this and can be plumbed. I only track it once a year so ragged edge performance isn't a total requirement. cheers.

Need a new one, not second hand. Cheers

Just wired up the Boss 8 inch unit. Got it in the boot facing sideways. Does quite well for a single 8 inch driver, but no comparison for twin 10 inch wedge boxes. A bit underpowered ,and has low distorion levels. Another bad thing, these things don't come with brackets or any mounting screws/holes. I think it's stupid they are designed just to sit under your seat loose to rattle and jump against the rails. So sorry but I'm gonna say it again. I hate my F%$#%%&^% stereo. Troy, when are you gonna move to Sydney.

I'm sick to death of looking at my amp and all the f^%^$$##$ wires in the boot. RCA's and speaker leads running everywhere, not to mention power supply. Why can't some bring out a double or even triple din unit will all the balls you need. Compact with cooling fans. Also some 8 or 10 inch 3 way splits to eliminate subs too. Would be so much neater and lighter. Years ago I saw 9 inch round 3 ways in Japan, but those days are gone. Bottom line. I want power, bass and clarity from a head unit , fronts and rears alone. 50 w rms, not peak. 50 peak is a joke. I hate my f^$%$##$ stereo. We need a revolution in amp design.

Yeah I agree 6x9's suck but I'm stuck with the cut outs. I guess I could make custom spacers to block and adapt 6.5's, but might look tacky. One good thing about the rears under the side windows is better direction for high frequencies as opposed to bouncing off the rear windscreen. The gap between the lining and the steel frame though is a pain. I'll have ti fill it somehow and make gaskets. thanks for all your help Troy.

Looking at getting more grunt. I have Sony 504X 50w per channel , looking to replace with 80w or 100w per channel. Cadence any good?
-
Yeah, I do have a slim sub to fit , however I still want all the other speakers tuned. The void in the rear quarter is massive and isn't sealed in various points. So I'm thinking enclosures could sound heaps better.
-
I'm still struggling with my rears located under the rear side windows. Have no subs at the moment, so trying to tune these 6 x 9 's to sound punchy. Cranked low boost on the amp, but just makes them pop at high volume. They're only 55W Fusion CS series and sound absolutely shit without the EQ. I also suspect a bad seal between them and the interior lining. The vinyl lining has roughly a 20mm gap behind it and the steel. I've stuffed the cavity with poly bat, and left a little empty behind the speakers. They sound a little cleaner, but f all bass. I've seen some sealed enclosures available for 6 x 9's. They are the oval shaped ones, quite small, about 200mm deep, not a box or wedge enclosure. Just wondering if these are worth considering. I'll have to cut way more steel out to get them in. cheers
