  1. alright cool i see the glass thing but when i turn on the air con is it meant to light up or show any signs of colour to tell me if there is gas or not in the system? Cheers Chi

  4. hey sorry about bringing up such an old post....so recently i noticed my aircon is not cold at all...so i did this diagnostic and the numbers i got is 3,4,41,5 and if i scroll to 5 and press the heat button i can adjust settings from -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3 so the question is how do i get my air con cold again?   5. so i pretty much sit in the car put it in first clutch in rev it till 4000 rpm to and get another person to have his ear in the engine bay to hear a click or not or alternatively just drive the car with the vct plug in then take it out and see how the drive is after that?
  6. well last week i was getting car tuned had a few problems in the past such as cas,coil packs, exhaust cam gear set on 2 degrees retard all been fixed now and the car still wouldn't make any power down low until 5k rpm the power would just shoot up so the tuner reckon it was the VCT not work so i changed the solonoid but i want to test if the vct is really work or not
  7. Hey guys just wondering how can i test if the VCT is actually working on my car? is it as simple as getting a multimeter and putting it on the wires for the VCT solonoid? Cheers Chi
  8. hahah it wasn't the battery thas for sure it was the starter motor aye thanks to Nic_A31 for coming down and losing some skin for me hahah...ps starter motor are PITA to get out especially teh top nut
  9. ok i tried jump starting it and it doesn't start....if battery is dead does the stereo still work?
  10. ^^^ there is no ticking noise at all...when i try crank it and there is no cranking sounds just hear the fuel pump priming that is all
  11. mmm so you don't reckon its the starter motor? il put the bolts back on the starter motor tm morning and change a new battery over....alternator is quiet new got that done like last year. cause i thought if it was the battery it would go tick tick tick tick
  12. Hey guys i have a R33 GTST with the usaul mods only recently the car is struggling to crank like its very weak and stuff during start up, then if i leave it a day or two it won't start. All the dash lights/head lights etc turn on just when i try to crank it i just hear the fuel pump priming and there is no cranking sounds when i try to crank it....so im just wondering has my starter motor died or is it something else?   15. the intercooler is china but i've been using it without problems 4 years ago.....
  16. the frontmount intercooler has been working perfectly , fuel pump is getting constant 12v power supply, there is no missfire, the blow off valve is a HKS SSQv it doesn't leak, the issue is i can't increase the timing to extract more power...so there is no point running more boost....the issue is not within the exhaust, metal intake pipe or even the front mount intercooler all joins are new and tightened there was no boost leak what so ever....i was talking to a mechanic mate and he told me if the cam timing was off by one tooth you'd lose power or something.   17. KiwiRS4T: well the timing belt was changd by previous owner...so it may not have been set properly....the tuner i go to is decent so no need to worry bout that....

Paulr33: The ping that the tuner was experiencing was detonation, the tuner couldn't give me a exact solution to the problem he just suggested a heap of stuff that could cause the low power levels...but i suspected it was the cam timing Ill get that checkd out once i finish my exams. Hypergear: I've got the metal intake from HKS thats included into the 2835 Pro S, attatched to that is a Apexi pod filter, and the exhaust is a 3inch turbo back with no mufflers or cat.... FryR33: the dyno sheet is quiet consistent with no dips in the power....the car pulls hard delivery of power is about the same. Cheers Chi
  19. its not the dyno, as the results i'm comparing are from the same dyno. Nothing wrong with the turbo intake, i am running the full FULL HKS 2835 pro s kit which had made 320rwhp @ 16psi on a very tied rb25 (150,000km+) before i bought it. XRATED: it has nothing to do with a dyno sheet the fact of the matter the car should be able to run more boost but i can't because i can't run enough timing. What i think is wrong is that the cam gears are not setup correctly. I think it may be a tooth out or something. When i get the chance im going to rip off the cam covers and set the crack to TDC and make sure the cams are line up correctly
  20. mmm how about cam timing? and TDC would those two things affect the powers? say if the crank wasn't at TDC ? cause i remember when i bought the engine the old owner of it said he changed the timing belt? the tuner said there was no point running more boost because you can't run more timing..... im running 98 ron Cheers Chi

Hey guys I've just got my car tuned its a R33 with the following mods: RB25 det HKS 2835 Pro S turbo Yellow Jacket coil packs Z32 FMIC 3" TBE Walbro Fuel Pump Power FC + boost controll kit Nismo 740 cc injectors it was tuned on 16 psi and obtained 300 hp i had a HKS 2530 before for 16 psi and it was making 300 hp? on same dyno....they tuner told me that he couldn't put more timing into it because it just pings so im just wondering what could cause this?
