  1. Hi nsanity,

no, i am not sure, i bought the car right after one month of importation...therefore, i am not sure if it is aftermarket steering wheel or factor fitted one...

I believe the Original one says "Nissan" or has "SRS" airbag on it.

Anyway, the point being, that HICAS relies on many things, one of those being, the steering angle sensor in the OE steering wheel.

I have a MOMO one of some description, thusly after some time over 80km/h, HICAS light comes on.

There is about a half billion threads on this board about it (including how to get it to do diagnostics in some wierd freaky fashion) but the general thing is, if you see the light come on, its not working.

HICAS is a questionable feature anyway. Yes it does aid the driver in a little way - but if you know what it feels like to be at the edge of handling, HICAS apparently sort of blurs that feeling a little. Meaning that some drivers don't like it, others do.

I don't have it (aftermarket steering wheel) so eventually i'll get around to grabbing a set of lock bars, and pissing off the 20kg of dead weight.

Oh, and disconnecting that bastard led that always comes up.

  2. i am having same problem as yours, not exectly same...but a bit...after the minor servicing can car started to flash the HICAS light as well... i know its somthing to do with the High Acceleration control system, But God knows why is it happeing... may be if some one will answer second part of your question in the last reply that shall help me too....

do you have an aftermarket steering wheel?

  3. ouch, never park your skyline in civic

    fixed.

Particularly if you're not in the Canberra Centre Carpark - i mean its a wank, but having to have a parking ticket to leave does help slightly, not to mention being a well-lit area with reasonable amount of people walking by frequently.

    Deterence is the key.

Did you have an alarm by chance?

  4. I sent a PM to NJR myself.

Sadly it was who i thought it would be. They never sat well with me (mostly due to the stickers - i hate stickers the guys on the back of my rear window wont get any recommendations), although i was going to use them for my pending 100,000 service (christ i do a lot of km's) this has pretty much canned that.

And yes, particularly for our type of cars - and the way we drive them - there is a need to test them a bit harder than your camry or what have you. But this should be informed and we should consent to it - or they should bite the bullet and buy a dyno, then recoup the costs for it by providing a better service.

  5. WHAT THE f**k IS WITH THE TRAFFIC?!#?!?%!#?

    f**king.

Canberra's road infrastructure is only about 110 times better than Sydney's yet we still manage to have mighty big f**king traffic jams.

WHY THE f**k IS THE PARKWAY STILL UNUSABLE??!?#

Its mighty damned depressing when you stop 200m down from the Parkes Way turn off along Lady Denman and proceed to CRAWL to the on-ramp to the parkway, 10 cars at a time.

Canberra's traffic management is f**king woeful.

  6. yeh but like i said, dependant on the mods, unless they have permission from Dickson, they cant do the inspection, which is really hard to get and they usually get called back later anyway, plus its not really expensive to go over dickson and then you know if you have anything dangerous that an otherwise possibly dodgy place might miss or overlook.

If you go to Dickson and get the Mad Scotsman down your throat, take cover.

    God he's an awful person.

if you require an engineer, pm me and i'll let you know who it might not be a good idea to see (purely because the Scotsman has a massive beef with him. - Not because of his work or pricing).

  7. SO UNLESS THIS ACTUALLYS INVOLVES YOU (YOUR MONEY NEEDS TO BE REFUNDED) SHUT UP AND MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

    This is a public forum.

You have made yourself appear untrustworthy and unreliable on this public forum.

Because of this, everyone who views this public forum is allowed to make their own opinion - and voice it - on this public forum.

Your reputation is at stake here - The more you push back, the harder it will be for you to have a good reputation.

What you have done with Shell is a good idea, it separates you from the people you owe money to slightly and involves someone who is considered trustworthy by many on this forum.

You can still save face here. People might complain eternally when they get poor service, but they also speak highly of people who go the extra mile to make things right.

  8. I hate the cup holder compartment in r33's.. the beverage gets in the way of shifting, there's only one space for one drink.. and.. its jsut crud.. actuallu, the WHOLE centre compartment is crap. It's not deep enough to put anything in there.

i Concur about the hate of the cup holder.

    Beverage doesn't interfere with shifting.

It does, however, suck at holding a red bull.

    also.

the second you put change in there - its useless for any size drink.

I use it as my mobile phone holder (Nokia N80).

  9. Keeping my car roadworthy? Do you ever open your eyes and look at the shitboxes on the ACT roads, do you have annual inspections? NO! But that is beside the point... When you get defected and pay over $1300 to fix it when you have an engineering certificate and no idea you have illegal stuff on your car, then have people hassling you for money you don't have after telling them you got defected and get more crap thrown back on you YOU'D BE PISSED OFF TOO!!

I'm not here to try to defend myself again because you all just gang up and out number me any way. Just want to say I get paid on Tues/Wed (depending on whether my work remembers Wed being the public holiday) I'll do Jayce, Ceffie, Beau & John once I have been paid and the rest of you I aplogise for any further delay but as I said before I am not in the best of finances because of this defect business.

I'll keep you posted as often as I can...

    Ok.

Because you simply don't get it.

I'll rewrite your post for you.

    Starting... Now.

    Hi Guys,

Just like to give you an update. I've budgeted enough funds to be able to fix up Jayce, Ceffie, Beau and John on Thursday at the latest. I apologise for the delay, and i intend to give you an update on <day i do my next budget>. Just trying to keep you guys in the loop.

    Cheers,

    Sl33ky

  10. I was getting my drive shaft reconditioned, but my apparently my bilstein suspension just broke and fell off, haven't had a chance to see my car yet. I will have a look in the for sale forum, but it's always easier getting something locally.

Luck is just not on my side getting my car regoed in canberra :domokun:

    cheers guys.

I'd be kicking someone's ass about that. Major brand suspension components don't just "break and fall off" and Bilstiens aren't exactly cheap. Suspension components in particular are designed to take massive amounts of abuse (in the right axis admittedly) and shouldn't just break.

If it wasn't you who made this happen - someone else is paying for it.
