  6. hey just wondering if there are still any left for a R33 series 1? im pretty keen on getting one
  7. it does sound like the alternator isn't charging the battery. so you put the new battery into the car drove home all fine and then next time you went to start it the battery was dead? at night aswell when you drove it so with the lights on etc it would've drained the battery pretty badly. if you put in a new battery and everything seemed fine it wouldn't be a short anywhere? cause it would do the same thing with the new battery, as in not deliver the right amount of power. definately get the alternator checked. hope that helps
  8. will the bonnet also fit 33 GTST?
  9. have you checked the fuse on the headunit? should b a little 10a fuse. so yeah, if you cut live wires you may have blown that fuse.
  10. all fixed. was the RCA's. the rca's were plugged in wrong in the back of the head unit, so the place i got to install my headunit stuffed up. they mixed the non-fader up with the rear set of preouts, so the sub wouldn't turn up at all on the headunit. probably shouldve checked that earlier but i was more worried about the speakers not working properly. thought i would get it all installed by a pro in the skyline because i didn't want to skimp out on the quality... obviously ill go back to doing all my own installs. so yeah, i've switch that around behind the headunit and all works well. thanks all
  11. just thought i'd update what's going on. took the amp back and they hooked it up all fine so it isn't the amp. they had it hooked up for me to hear and everything. i've just put my whole car back together it seems. ripped the rear seats out and checked wiring the whole way along up to the head unit. checked behind the head unit etc all seems fine. no wiring is loose or anything. taken the left door trim off (since it's the left speaker not working) and checked wiring... all seems fine. so, my next guess is the left front speaker is blown? i swapped the +/- over on the amp etc just incase i got them mixed up but no change in volume. i'm guessing this because no wiring is loose or disconnected. any thoughts? they are pioneer splits, brand new from the same place. they were installed bout 2 months ago? they are the TS-C1625 splits
  12. very keen on the s2 spoiler. pm me if it's still available. cash ready now
  13. yeah i've swapped RCA's over etc... swapped the front speakers onto the rear channels and they played fine. had the sub bridged on the front 2 channels, didn't want to work at all. it is weird though, because i am sure all amps are tested before they are sent out for sale? unless damage is done in transit through rough handling? i've taken the amp back anyway and explained everything to him. he'll get back to me monday morning. thanks for the help anyway.
  14. hey all, i bought myself an eclipse XA4000 amp 2day. went to install it and it seems as though 1 channel isn't working properly? the car had a 4 channel amp in it already so all i had to do was swap over the amps. put in all the wiring etc and it seems the "left" channel dosen't want to work. whichever front speaker i plug into the left channel, it won't play at full volume. the other speaker will play at full volume and obviously drowns the other out. is there anything else i can check? it definately seems like it is the amp. very annoying. it isn't settings in the head unit either because i disconnected the battery to install the amp. (settings reset) so yeah... not h/u settings, not settings on the amp (frequency etc), i've swapped both speakers over and whichever speaker goes into the "left" channel it will only play on low volume. any help is appreciated. brendan
  15. when a boost guage isn't connected to anything at all it should read 0. obviously because there is no pressure going into it so there is nothing to read. when idling, the guage should sit at bout -0.5 bar i think it is, or just below it. if it is sitting at 0 when the car is on and idling, then yes there is something wrong there
  16. i agree that the white rims look good on white cars. ive got more of a pearl, off-white colour to my rims which don't look too bad. something different instead of full white all round anyway.
  17. "why keep the stock bov?" why not keep the stock bov? im a big fan of if it ain't broke, don't fix it. if the stock unit isn't broken, you don't need to change it. more money you can spend on doing other things anyway.
  18. well the guy at the used car yard changed the timing belt for me anyway, to be on the safe side. so that's no worries. just was more concerned with the condition of the rest of the engine... ie how good a nick the turbo would be in.
  19. ahh ok thats good then. thanks guys
  20. hey all. im fairly new to the skyline... infact japanese import scene in general. just recently purchased a 1995 nissan skyline R33 GTS-T. it only had 51,000km on the clock. ok before you laugh and say what an idiot. a 1995 skyline with so few k's? i thought the exact same thing. i did do alot of umming and arrring before i bought this car. i got it fully checked out, i looked over it myself and test drove it. i was astonished, the interior and exterior were immaculate. not a scratch or dent in the body anywhere. no marks or tears or anything in the interior, everything worked as it should. so i was beginning to think it can't be too far away from what's on the clock, even if it is wound back alittle out of japan. then i found this. 100,000km sticker right smack bang on top of the engine. i did look under the bonnet. but i think i looked everywhere except for the easiest place to look, top of the engine haha. the sticker is completely in japanese and i can't read it... only thing i can read is the 100,000km part. i have bin told that the sticker means its gone through its 100,000km service. then ive bin told the sticker just says the timing belt needs to be changed at 100,000km. before i bought the car, the guy changed the timing belt for me anyway. so my question is, does anyone know wat the sticker means? do they have it on their cars? and if so, is there anyway to tell really how far it has gone past 100,000km? car has no log books etc which dosent surprise me. thanks in advance, brendan
