  1. because 'merica. nissan has been so focused on the USA market for past 8+ years and they don;t buy small and fun. Quantity over quality. where as Renault is not even sold in USA they are focused on EU markets where small and peppy is everything.
  2. did you buy about 6-4 month ago. as that sounds like one of the ad's I was looking at. Pre face lift model? ie 2 spoke wheel? and yes this has had the timing belt and tensioner done, High pressure fuel pump, thermostat housing, all new cooling hoses, expansion bottle cap, and air cond recharge, new tires and a RWC. previous owner is a n older Principle of a Local school and she had paperwork for the last 7 years at the same repair place. naturally none of this was in the add just 3 very bad photos and as a country car, no one wants small cars. I was the first to look at it after 3 months of advertising.
  3. I was seriously looking at those, power to weight is similar (slight advantage to RS) but I found the interiour of the mini to be more me, add in the 60cm shorter so easy to park. was RS225, mini cooper S, WRX and HSV astra there at the end.
  4. and for a daily that's the point. mine has the mechanical LSD, dual sun roof, leather, Bluetooth and a few other options. plus 17K of receipts for work......for 8K drives great and will do me for a couple years till the mortgage paid off a bunch and can get something more fun.
  5. small turbo car that lots of fun....hmmm
  6. I just went with budget direct as stock. Enthusiast were are close 2nd and will move to them after some mods. RACV were the most expensive, and after years with AAMI they wanted to triple my excess.

  9. yeah dosn't get you that much around here either. https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-vic-nagambie-129739690 590K only gets you a near new 4 bedroom on a 830Sq block with a pool..oh and solar.
  10. is this due to you buying more 88e?
  11. when I first talked to the bank they offered way more than the calculator after getting details. (we actually wanted less than the calculator offered anyhow) when we eventually went through a mortgage broker they offered even more. Can def see how people get into trouble with how much they offer. Where as I worked out what repayments I was comfortable with and worked back from that. so my theory is banks will give you just about anything so long as the property is worth 20% more than the loan, as worst case is they will foreclose and get their profit anyhow. best case is more profit as you borrowed too much and are living off black and gold tuna. #inb4hatishtellsthetruth
  12. It was part of ACU (Australian Catholic university) if I remember so yes they were qualified.
  13. Engagement party was the easiest thing. parents back yard, grabbed some booze and we catered ourselves, we hit up one of the wineries a couple months b4 for end of bin specials, raided my duty free booze and a few slabs of beers sorted
  14. a custom designed titanium with a gold inlay.... and to be married in a church you need to do a pre-wedding course, which I thought was a load of bollocks till I did it and had some good stuff. Oh and lots of religious stuff.

  17. this for sure. last year Sister in laws suburb (fairly inner with a tram nearby) drops 10.1% Our small country town goes up 8.91%
  18. sounds like the place we were house sitting for a period prior the house being finished. Loved the fact the shower floor didn't drain to the drain but the middle of the bathroom (and no other drain in bathroom) you used multiple towels to create a dam around the door then flush it back in. bad sealing around doors/windows, place was always freezing. next to no phone reception and the ADSL was slow as. At least the shit heap I lived in at newport had 100Mb cable, full signal and so so cheap rent. owners knew what they had and priced accordingly,
  19. I did find many many donut marks under the weeds...
  20. yeah gotta hate the lack of space...nowhere to put anything... bloody took me 8 hours to mow the lawn yesterday.
  21. FYI SAU Vic is running a skid pan day fairly soon.. it may not be government subsidized but we generally run them at a small loss (get some sponsors to cover that) to make it as cheap as possible. we are not here to make a profit at the end of the day . Kept you eye on the events section. not sure what else you can ask for, skids and sandwiches...win win.
  22. I was looking at one of those yesterday, was in the perfect beige color, not what I'm looking for currently but that could be a chance in a few years.
  23. seems fairly normal https://www.education.vic.gov.au/hrweb/Documents/Parental-Absence-TS-Guide.pdf still anything better than IT companies in USA, we have staff that take 1 week off and back in the office.
