Kristafa: did you get your AWD to work with yours, and if so, then how?
I have pretty much the exact same problems PM-R33, 18L/100 sucks, so does having to replace completely carbon fouled plugs every 10000km. My smokescreens are incredible on WOT, good for tailgaters though LOL.
I have none of these symptoms, and as before i average 13L/100km give or take. Guess i have a good tune
Mine is in a RWD bmw..

maybe one day i'll make the move! i do like steak..
-
i have a spare rb26 balancer here (brisbane) if you want - they work great!!
Otherwise the cheaper aftermarket option would be from ROSS -> http://www.rosstuffbond.com.au/metal_jacket.html

i love anti-microtech threads like this.
I went against the 'norm' and bought a microtech ltx12s for my RB26, why..? because it was a bargain! (2nd hand)
For what i have it does a great job, i start the car hot or cold, doesn't stall out (as described by some), and honestly is driveable i've done 7,000kms using it, from driving to work to hard flogs on open roads.
It was easy for my tuner to get it all dialled in.
Power FC may be better - but for those with comments like "microtech sucks"... i just dont see what you base that on
The bmw takes 55L to fill, and i get about 420-450km of driving consistently, it makes 244rwkw.
If a car makes good top end power, has usable midrange, starts and stops when you tell it to, has local support... what more do I need?
Chris.

might also take that power steering pump, i'm guessing you had that fitted to your 26..?
-
i'll take dash 10 line and some fittings if you have them, will sms u now

haha yeh that's my bmw with the 26, will be in Zoom magazine coming out this week! pretty excited :-D
anyway sorry guys nothing for skylines yet until someone takes the first step and comes for a measure and fit! Though we did produce one for an EVO 9 and have since sold a couple interstate.
Also the new EVO 9 heatshield in that pic..
-
thx. at this stage they appear to be sold.
EDIT:
SOLD PENDING PAYMENT
-
are the engine-to-turbo manifolds included
sorry mate i'll still need them.
-
I'm considering selling my current turbo setup.
If it matters, i'm selling because my current setup (clutch, diff, etc) doesn't seem capable of handling the power these turbos are designed for - and i'm saving my pennies for something else.
A/R .60
exhaust .64
They are steel wheeled and according to the data on this page, they are rated 640hp+ and from my research they can handle 2 bar or so.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tbroom/Turbos.htm
I'm asking $1200 for these, they are in excellent condition, i've only been running them on 12psi for the last 6 months because I thought they were standard *duhhh*
No shaft play, both wheels spin freely. Comes with standard actuators. Dumps pipes not available as i have a custom setup
They are 360 Degree bush bearing, the exhaust side has been coated with high temp black, and the turbine side looks nice and fresh since i had them cleaned up.
$1200 + whatever postage comes to, normally around $50 or so.
pickup available, Algester - south brissy area.
Will consider standard ceramic turbos as part payment. if they dont sell in a few weeks they'll be going back on when my engine goes back in!
no low ball offers - no BS talk in the thread.
thanks... Chris. 0422 933 217

Yeh I had 4.45's at that time, all the same i'll see how they feel after I mod the dumps then make a decision.. $$$$$..! Never ends

check my dyno sheet on the RB26 upgraded turbo thread - shows power vs RPM
EDIT: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=5112467
i have a less than impressive dump pipe setup which will be sorted before turbos are reinstalled, and wind the boost up to 17 pound or so with the new EBC there should be things happening a little earlier in the rev range.
-
thanks for the help guys - i know they're not the turbo of choice these days but it's quite a welcome surprise
now to save for forgies and cams..
-
0.60 front, 0.64 rear
-
cheers paul - i've been running these turbos for 6 months on 12psi thinking they're stockies and that my exhaust was restrictive hence the laggyness.. good to know i can start to lean on them a little and start making up for that lag in topend power..
-
to turbo just means pressure side, so intercooler, plenum, whatever.
-
Thanks mate, unfortunately those are the main sources of my confusion.. Why does that chart say my turbos should be .42 compressor when mine are .60?
The gtr.co.uk site doesn't answer that guys first question, ie what are they.
am I just to assume mine are gismo GT/Lemans turbos even tho it doesn't have rs581 on the CHRA?
also before anyone gets in with "these are poor design, 15 years old, bush bearing, etc" I know already, but unfortunately for the old RB, this is what she's stuck with for now haha...!
-
Ok guys, just pulled my turbos off (no jokes pls!!!).. There pretty laggy, I got them with my 26, stated as having STD turbos on it.. so a bit of a win I guess..
CHRA has 14411-06U00, which is apparently r32 gismo turbo's, thus explaining why they're laggy...!
Now the thing I don't understand is the nismo's are meant to have a 0.42 compressor, but these are 0.6 like on the GT/le mans nismo's, but the CHRA doesn't show 14411-rs581 as per the lemans turbos.
Confused.. Any help appreciated, would also like to know their max power and efficiency range.
Also, have stock bottom end, nismo 555cc's, microtech, walbro, etc.. If that helps
Thx, Chris.
