  1. How much did that set you back?
  2. Yeah fair enough.. I like the look of the r33 a lot more, so I'll probably stick with that and hope for luck
  3. hehe yep, pretty much... Does anyone know someone who would insure an R33 gtst third party fire and theft for its value (about 15k-20k) and the rough prices? I have tried just cars and although fairly cheap, it only covers $4000 of theft (the main thing I am worried about).
  4. But if you can state that the tare weight is 1500kgs when registering it, then its all good?
  5. Yeah fair enough. But it general, I would be fine if cops pulled me over and everything was good (ie, sound sytem had engineers certificate) and they wouldnt be worried about the power yeah?
  6. Yeah, that is a fairly ridiculous asking price... just check out the current selling prices for similar cars...
  7. Haha thanks Yeah, there probably isn't, but I'd rather actually try and get it vaguely legit in case that they were to randomly start cracking down on it. This only applies if you personally import and register the car then I'm assuming (rather than re-register a car thats already been imported).
  8. Providing that you actually weigh it down then, would it then become legal?
  9. So you need to get your importer to declare its weight?
  10. So you could just state that it weighs 1500kg? Or would you need documents to prove it (ie, have it weighed somewhere)?
  11. If you add lets say 130kg of lead somewhere in the car to bring it to 1.5 tonnes, and register it at that weight, will a r33 gts-t then become legal on your P's (125kw/tonne, 187kw)?
  12. The legal power to weight ratio allowed on your P's in Victoria is 125kw per tonne, which equals 187.5 for a 1.5tonne car. R33 gts-ts weigh about 1.37 tonnes, meaning you are allowed 171kw, and their actual power is 187kw. Firstly, would adding extra weight to bring it to 1.5tonne (187kw) make it legal? Secondly, if not what can/will the police do if you are slightly over, and what problems does it tend to present people. Also, what are people's experiences with getting insurance for such a car on their P's (I'm just after third party, fire and theft).
