I had a look and there is a sticky where you can report your engine failures in another thread, and you can put up what you broke, what turbo you were running when you broke it, what oil you were using etc. I’m interested if people could post up their transmission breakages and what power they were running, and what they were doing when they broke it (8k launches etc). As i have a 21 year old GTR, I’m not sure how much the transmissions can take i.e. 4k launches etc. Before i get flamed for not searching, i have searched and haven’t really found what I’m looking for Cheers Type of Car: Modifications: Power: What you broke: How you broke it:

Will A R33 Diff Fit A R32 ?

Hicas( Steering With Out Intention)
Josh_r32 replied to paulos's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
In the R32 GTST i had = Yep. Seemed to step out alot easier. Gtr - nope (4 wheel drive obviously) I noticed the steering was a lot lighter, and it did steer obviously a lot different around corners and at speeds with lockbar - i prefer it with the lockbar but i guess everyone has their own opinion! The back end of the GTR was floating on certain corners, speeds and just felt sh*t, lockbar in fixed it and feels nice and solid and predictable. You loose about 20kg of crap as well when u do it, well worth it in my opinion! -

The arse end of my 32 GTR used to "float" and handled like a pissed dog on wet tiles. As the 21 year old hicas system decided to cut in and out when it wanted to. Not sure what the actual problem was, if it electrical problem or what Installed a hicas lockout bar for $120 and it handled A1. Would highly recommend it. The installation of the bar and removal of lines is easier then you think. Also put one in a GTST, well worth it aswell. Car feels so much more predicatable and tighter. Lockbar has been in the GTST for 5 years and no probs Cheers

I just put Motul Chrono 300v 10w40 for my R32 GTR - on the weekend. I think it's great stuff. It would want to be for $150. Got it from repco - 6 litres. I chose this as its a group 5 Oil, full synthetic, cool bottle etc etc ;-) I would use the 15w 50 for more track /harsher driving in the motul. Some info from the "goods on oils" sticky Basic explanation of ratings Group I - mineral Group II/II+ - hydrocrak (VI below 120) Group III - hydrocrack (VI above 120, mineral derive "Fake Synthetic") Group IV - polyalphaolefin (man made Synthetic) Group V - Ester & other un-group fluid (Ester or Polyolester, super high grade Synthetic, good for aircraft jet engine). Common products and their ratings. Redline (Group V Polyester) Motul 300V (Group V) Motul 8100 E-Tech 0W40 (Group IV/V Blend) Mobil 1 (Group IV) Motul 8100 xcess 5w40 (Group IV) ~$59 - one of the best value Castrol SynTec 0w30 (Group IV) [A minor mistake in the front page, Castrol SynTec 0w30, the German castrol is group IV. The American 5w40 or similar is group III (sometimes written as III/IV but not true group IV).] Castrol Edge Sport 5w30 or 10w60 (Group III) Motul 4100 Turbolight (Group II?)

Will A R33 Diff Fit A R32 ?
Josh_r32 replied to FLYNLO's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
the centres are the same... i have put two r33 gtst diff centres into my r32 gtst r200 diff housing.. r33 housings are heaps different then r32 housings. u need to use ur half shalfts from your r32 diff also, as r33 are 6 bolt from memory? -
I brought it from a guy down here and it was in "excellent condition" i haven't driven with the box though so i cant add my personal opinion abou it! Cheers
