  3. Hi Guys, I've decided it's finaly time to let my baby go, as sudden changes mean I'm just not gona be able to afford to keep her anymore. 1993 Black R32 GTR * 17 X 9" Bronze Volk Racing TE37 wheels. * Sydneykid Bilstein / Whiteline groupbuy suspension package. * Apexi N1 3" catback exhaust. * Larger Trust Drag Spec Front Mount Intercooler. * PIAA HID Headlights (huge improvment over standard R32 headlights). * Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch travelled approx 15 -18,000km. * Brand New RDA Gold Grooved Sports Disc Rotors (travelled aprox 3000km). * Brand New Brake Pads. * Brand New Hankook Ventus RS2 Tyres (fitted less than 500km ago). * JVC mp3 Head unit with JL (front) and Alpine (rear) speakers. * HKS Cam Gears. * Twin HKS pod filters. I've owned the car for about a year now, and it has never missed a beat, just had the cam gears installed at racepace, and the car is now making ~218kw atw. Dash is showing 76500km. Paint is also in very good condition for its age, bar a few tiny scratches. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...matchallpartial Would really like this car to go to a good home, as its been good to me, and I have put heaps of time/money into her. Looking for $23,000 ono. Please call me on 0423 081 464 if you have any other questions. Cheers, Dave
  4. Was pretty sure lexus were gona go with a v8 or v10 hybrid? simliar to the 450gh? A mate that used to work in development at toyota is pretty sure its a hybrid!
  5. I'm really interested in comming along, and finally having a go at driving on the circuit, also got a few mates that are keen to come along, just have a few quick questions. Is it the club circuit or the national circuit that the even will be held on? and do we need to pre-register, or is it just a case of comming on the day, and signing up? also is a fire extinguisher.. etc needed? Cheers, Dave
  6. it really isnt hard, take the pads out, squeeze the gooey stuff on the back like toothpaste, then what i do is get the two brake pads and rub the backings of them together, to spread it nice and even on the back of the pads, let it dry a little and chuck the brake pads back in. when it drys it turns into sorta like a silicon rubbery compound, what this does is absorb the vibrations from the pad in the caliper, dont apply it to ur rotors or the front of the pads as this just gets cleaned off the first time you brake. i know what you mean by really loud squealing, used to happen to me aswell, just go back to a standard pad, you don't need anything more than that for street driving, if you track your car just keep a dedicated of spares for the track, you don't want aggressive pads for day to day driving, just chews through rotors quicker.
  7. Main cause of squealing brakes is the actual brake pad vibrating in the caliper. Pretty common for skyline brake caliper. Happens on my 32 GTR all the time, changed rotors and brake pads and brakes still squeal abit. best thing I foudn was to get some disc brake quiet (red gooey stuff), take out the brake pads and apply it to the back of the pads, this keeps my brakes quiet for a couple thousand k's, i just reapply everytime i service the car and it keeps the brakes quiet, also its good to go back to a standard pad, the more aggressive ones, ultimates etc tend to squeal heaps more cos its basically metal rubbing metal. but yeah, go to repco and get some disc brake quiet, costs like 8 bucks.
  8. I'm also running the RS2's on my gtr, and must say they really do have a lot of grip, awesome on the street, and very progressive near the limit. got them for 250 a corner, for 245 17inch at tyre power in glenwaverly, after ringing around, I found their prices to pretty much be the lowest for most brands, have to recommend them!
  9. Just got some Hankook RS2's on the my 32R, must say pretty impressed, got 4 tyres fitted balanced and aligned for $1000. 245/45/r17. Now just to see how they fair in the wet :S
  10. I have to recoment Better Brakes in Cheltenham. The guy there was extremely helpful in advising what needed to be done regarding the rotor and pad change, and is an official RDA distributor. The prices he gave were awesome aswell, I ended up going for the gold grooved discs, they look really good once they'r worn in, ended up being i think round abouts 700 for 4 rotors and pads. I only went with a standard pad for the street as there is no need to chew through your discs quicker for day to day driving, ask for Kerry he's a gun!
  11. Got them from Bosch Australia. Cheers, Dave
  12. Lol, was also at KK that night.
  13. Saw that last night aswell as I was driving past, huge lockup, ended up right in the middle of the roundabout, was a P plater aswell I think.
  14. Bump! 2 x AFM and 1 x 040 fuel pump still available!
  15. so normal? or maybe a sign of uneven compression??
  16. Hi Guys, Just wondering, my car has usually been run with a 10W40 oil, but on the weekend I chagned over to Mobil Fully Synth 5W30, aparantly this is what mobil recommend and it seems it gets some pretty good wraps. Driving the car feels great, the engine feels alot smoother than before, however I've noticed after moving to the thinner oil, oil pressure has dropped quite a bit, it used to sit on about 1-2kg/cm3 on idle and 4kg at approx 4000rpm 6 at approx 4500 rpm, but now it sits at about 0.5kg/cm3 at idle and about 2-3 doing 4000rpm. After listening to a few different people I also opted to give the engine the full 5L isntead of the specified 4.5L, so i am also running 500ml extra oil. Question is should the oil presure be so low, and is it due to the thin oil? Does thinner oil lower oil pressure? and what does increasing the volume of oil do for pressure? I've also read that the factory gauges are not very accurate, and it may just all be a dodgy sender, thing is it seems to be fairly consistent with readings so what should i do? Another thing also, after approx 5000km should the engine oil be completely black? I have never changed the oil myself with the GTR but I have never seen oil come out that black on any other car even after 10,000km so is this a danger sign? You thoughts will be much appreciated. Cheers, Dave
  17. Hi Guys, Just wondering, it seems that when my car is idling it has a really faint miss every couple of seconds or so, nothing major and it drives fine under load and makes good power, just wondering if this is normal? It's hard to describe but its kind of like instead of having a constant purrr for the idle every 2-3 secs theres a slight quiet and then it starts purring again. anythign to be worried about? Car is an R32 GTR.
  18. arlight looks like 255's it is then! can't wait to get some proper tyres on the car! thanks guys!
