I can even get my family to turn up to that one.

If you want to run with SAU, I'd normally say check out the events section and 2014 motorsport thread but we've finished for the year.
We don't tend to run our own events but join in with those hosted by other clubs, even clubs that host events will sometimes run in other club's events.
So why not browse through some of the clubs that run Vic events open to CAMS members

eg
Fri 31-Oct Phillip Island Maserati
Sat 1-Nov Winton Circuit Club
Sat 8-Nov Haunted Hills WRX Club
Sun 9-Nov Phillip Island PIARC
Sun 23-Nov Winton MSCA
Sun 23-Nov Sandown AROCA
Sat 29-Nov Sandown WRX Club
Sat 13-Dec Broadford AROCA
Sun 21-Dec Winton Tampered

Also, check out this site - https://serious-racing.com/
You can upload GPS data from various apps and loggers to compare 4 of your own laps or one against up to 4 other people. It's pretty cool. I'm on there as my username here (as is Aaron).
tried to create an account couple of days ago, never received new account confirmation email, gave them a poke, we'll see?
BTW Did the championship table get ratified?

if that was me, would be more like 2015 rather than next weekend
-
And I'm working Saturdays till mid Nov

John, how much work is involved in sync'ing the videos and data? I find racerender with just one video and the data a complete pain in the arse to line up.
Pretty easy with Racechrono on android (Nokia app would only extract data from full laps), later android app exports the whole dataset so you've got the 0kph data take off point to match with take off movement on the videos, then just trim the boring stuff away - this last point is subjective, if I'm too aggressive, I'm left with no video :-)

why dont they have detection lines at flag points and cars hit rev limits that will see the cars slow and need to downshift and maintain 120km/h until then clear the flag point where the next green is shown.
Totally concur, with technology available why leave it to driver to judge lift when they know it leaves opportunity for another driver to lift less and catch them up, get them to select a flag mode. Obviously bit more complex than pit lane, possible multi flag sections require differing limits with transitions etc but they do have enough IQ & $s between them to work it out.
And Micky, put simply, you aquaplane because you exceed the rate the tyre can clear water - speed is definitely a variable

it was more a case of fed up with changing wheels again - does sound like he'll make the effort if he runs them again.
Dave, when I get a chance, will load up data and give you a shout.
-
Good to see everyone having fun, loving the commitment shown, squealing tyres and love Dave's AO50s hum - reminds me of flying scenes in WW2 films.
I love this place, was running lower boost to avoid overheating issues but Nick from Lux Racing advised on anti dive improvements which are in the right direction as way more confident on turn in, hence big PB improvement.

That's why I put 'understand things change' who was it BTW
-
Understand things change but at the prior round there was mention of the last round being at an outdoor venue with undulations - or was I off with the fairies.
I'm just putting a mental note of the tracks I've been to/would like to go to, so interested if there was another public accessible outdoor venue
-
Will post the results after a fact check
What about a 'fat cheque' :-)

Most likely - no go
Should now be a go, rang at lunchtime and they were just ringing up Nissan sourcing a gasket I'd forgotten to give them - so I popped it round over lunch.
What's the process for garages at PI? Booking? Payments? etc... Do you need to ring up someone like Sandown?
You don't seem to be able to pre-book
When you get there you ring PI client services mobile (PM'd by the way)
they'll walk around unlock and request the $176 per day payment.
-
Car issues still touch and go?
Most likely - no go
-
Bit quiet with a few days to go till final round. If I wimp out under the pressure, may be asking round for a lift down.
-
Looking forward to a more social turn out for the final round. Sorry Justin for not saying hi, had one of those days. The night before resulted in arriving at 8:30, came in nursing coolant issues but the cat flange bolt disappeared resulting in a trip to Bunnings, strain on the exhaust had stressed the dump pipe mount and losing those studs ended the day.
-
Car Class, good point. I know we run under our SAU classification specified in the 2014 championship thread but to assist in people populating CAMS entry car details.
We run under the sprint days, so you'll find the PI supp regs classes within the "Group 5 Sprint Class"

Did you guys use the online form or just look at it?
Used it, first time is only a little bit more of effort than a normal event entry but you reuse for next event. if you can be bothered, there are long winded instructional videos.
-
I've entered.
The CAMS entry looks like being useful, no more writing down details every time.
Certainly a step up from scanning PDFs then emailing or worse, posting them.

Sau Vic 2014 Motorsport Championship Final Round (95DB) - Hosted by PIARC
Entry $250 including timing, $210 if you enter before 18th Sept.
The link to CAMS online entry and Sup Regs (including postal entry form option) may be found on the front page of http://www.piarc.com.au/
As published prior, for this year, two events will be dropped when working out this years championship
To close out the year, there should be some more social track events, WRX xmas Sandown plus the committee is working to finalise the Broadford day.

Cheers, understand the nature of this year and everyone is doing it on their own time, maybe less public forum/facebook options, just committee confer behind closed doors and publish agreed schedule. If as you seem to be saying, this isn't a round - I suggest the committee clearly update this thread with cancelled and remove it from the front pages of the 2014 MS calendar thread.
Also we were talking about the proposed final round tonight. The PIARC entries are already open and the price goes up within a week - so if that is to be the final round, it needs to be advertised now so that people have a chance to plan and enter at the cheaper price of $210 versus $250.
Not trying to step on toes, just have a busy life, I generally have to move things around to attend events and lets not forget, prior I also have to schedule time to work/prep the car.

Feel free to lock/delete if required, think I may just check in on Jan2015 to see which ended up being rounds.
For 2015, think I'll just go back to cherry picking fun events, kind of over this championship malarkey :-)
Track Days Dates?

We'll also put up details in the event section nearer the time. Note it's an 80% day so no pushing hard, so play with setup and passenger laps all day. You can jump in lots of cars or take your mates out. :-)
