My car is in serious trouble at the moment. Seems to have more bad days then good. I had just spent a whole day at the mechanics helping them to solve the problem of my car. Almost everything was ruled out today. Basically when you start the car its fine, but when you put it into drive (its an auto) it splutters and then stalls. What is happening is that as soon as drive is selected, 3 cylinders drop and then the tcs butterfly closes. The TCS module was suspected but tested it with another unit and it was still the same. The regular checks of coil packs, injectors, fuel pump, fuel flow, plugs, injectors etc was all checked and are all fine. Diagnostic comp was connected and nothing comes up. My car has been missing in action for about 1 month now and would like to have it back by christmas. PLEASE HELP ME!! advise and opinions are all appreciated

nope na doesnt have traction control. the snow button changes the gear ratios and said above, prevents wheelspin. yup i drive with tc off everyday....don really like traction control much

After getting my gearbox problem fixed after a good 3 weeks, another problem had come up straight afterwards. On idle its fine but when you give it some revs, it heavily misfires for like 5 seconds and then stops. The spark plugs are brand new, coil packs have been tested and are working fine and so are injectors, afm is replaced with a new one. When the diagnostic consult computer is plugged in it came up with error code 017 and 046 which arent in any of the nissan handbooks. when it is cleared and reseted, only 017 remains. It is a R34 Gtt in tiptronic and if anyone has any information regarding any of these it is much appreciated

yea just got word back from mechanics couple days ago. the 1,2 shift valve solenoid has failed. this means that when drive is selected, 1st and 2nd gear both comes on at the same time. now im just patiently waiting for the part to come in. im a little annoyed as he promised to have my car ready 2 days ago but he had ordered the wrong part for my car.

sorry to hear everyone... yea luckily my car is still in storage at the mechanics waiting to get fixed. my parents alfa got raped.. smashed windscreen, dented roof, bonnet, guards etc. it was pretty bad as im in the castle hill area where also the power was out for like 4-5 hours.

Here we go... In theory the split piping would give you more power but you would need at least 500ps-600ps atw to see the 5ps difference on the dyno. so the power difference is really small. If you were to use a bellmouth type and then drive using a split piping, you wouldnt be able to tell much of a difference. this was told to me when i was making the same decision as well. also if you were going to upgrade your turbo in the near future to something bigger, then you would have to change to the bellmouth type anyways, only because the clearance on the wastegate with the split piping is too small.

Im assuming that you wanted to change the instrument cluster lights. Very simple job and it will only take around 20min. It involves taking off your whole instrument cluster to do so. Also taking off your steering wheel as well. 1) Take off the steering wheel 2) There should be a screw on top of the dashboard. Undo that and there should be 2 clips at the bottom. Take that whole piece off. 3) The instrument cluster is now exposed. There should be a screw on top and 2 on the bottom. Undo those and carefully take off the whole instrument cluster piece. 4) At the back there should be 3 harnesses plugged in. Undo those and take it out. 5) Flip the cluster around, and you should see plastic sockets sticking out. These contain the light bulbs. Change it and put it all back together. and there your cluster will have a new colour...

finally got a word back today after a whole week of it sitting in storage. he had told me that the computer was not giving out any power. power was going in but not coming out so he sent it away to get it tested. does this sound right to anyone? if the computer didnt work then the car wouldnt start right?

yep... i would say i do the same as well.. other alternatives is a dyno run but cant really afford to pay 80 bucks everytime i get a new mod Otherwise.. DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT hahahahahaha -

i just heard back from the mechanics. he plugged the scanner on and it didnt show up with an error code. he says that its either mechanical or theres a problem with the ecu. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before??

nope...bov in standard position no vented bonnet. the mechanics seem to think thats its electrical but still not sure yet. no cai. im not so sure if its just a coincidence with the rain that my car always seems to break down on. but yea last time i had the spark plug swimming pool incident regarding it so no vented bonnet. also my pod is at the standard position where my airbox use to be. no idea.. its not that it wont start in gear..u cant start autos in gear.. it just keeps stalling in gear thats all except for reverse which is weird. thanks everyone

i wouldnt think there is any bolt on cat back kits made for the 25gt. i use to own one and still couldnt find anything for it so its best to get one custom made prob a 2 1/4inch or 2 1/2 inch. that would definetely make the car sound louder and a lot nicer and will get u more power. also a good jap branded canon is recommended. like apexi, hks etc. i currently have a greddy trust titanium on my gt-t and sounds awesome

Hi everyone, A very weird problem had just occured. i drive a r34 gt-t in automatic/tiptronic. i was driving down a slope when i started to notice that my car started spluttering. it was raining and i thought that some water had gotten into my intake so i just hit the accelerator harder. when i did that it spluttered more and started to stall. i pulled over and put it into neutral and just started to rev it out. put it back into drive and it just stalled. i tested out every gear and put it into reverse and it was fine. put it back into drive and it stalled again. gave it some revs in neutral and chucked it into drive and then stalled again. all this resulted in me waiting 1.5 hours for a tow truck and then got charged $80 for a 5min ride its at hills motorsports now and they are going to look at it tomorrow. hopefully it wont be too expensive. this is my 2nd incident regarding the rain....first was a misfiring/cant start issue. any insight or information would be greatly appreciated! cheers!
