  1. Great result guys, although one thing i am concerned about. Talk of having receipts etc for all the modifications done by workshops. Personally (and I know that lots of other people are in the same boat) I like to mod my car myself... paying workshops is all good and well but learning about your car while doing things is priceless. Now obviously I know that the biggest issue with this is that some people that choose to do their own mods do them in an unsafe manner. How will this affect those more responsible owners who do the right thing and do an above average job on their own car but have no documentation to prove? I am personally very fussy and don't like other people touching my car unless its something beyond my abilities... as more than often I've had to come back due to something that hasn't been properly connected back (and been charged on top for their incompetence) or I've had to do more work on it afterwords because they failed to tell me i needed to get an alignment or something like that done.
  2. Not defected any more but a question that will benefit those that might be defected, Ive had my resonator smashed up by a wheel alignment place and it started to leak. It was due to exhaust hanging too low. So i got it replaced by a hotdog on a recommendation from the shop. Currently the car is running a 3.5" catback Trust mild steel system (imported like this) with a 3.5" hot dog and a Trust cannon muffler. Its not that loud as it is however I would like to lower the noise a bit more as 1. I don't want a loud exhaust as it gets annoying on long trips, 2. I don't want attention from every wanker trying to be a red light hero 3. I want to keep the authorities happy (although its pretty much on par with your average hsv rumble) So what are my options in reducing the noise? I would like to keep the cannon and 3.5" exhaust due to a fairly free flow. Ive heard that baffle plates reduce the noise a bit if done correctly which i would like to give a go. Anyone know of any good designs?
  3. be interesting to see how this went down
  4. last night black r33 p plater behind me on cross rd/south rd intersection white s15 on cross rd silver supra on cross rd white r33 on grenhill rd then an s13 and another car tailgating my mate in his s14 down from mt. lofty... fk man i could barely see his headlights behind my mate but overall a great nite, testing coilovers is mad fun.
  5. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Qf...re-t249361.html or there.
  6. i recommend qfm a1rm pads... they're really good all round, cold or hot you wont feel the diff, very consistent pedal feel and they seem to last a long ass time too. GSL rallysport is doing a half price rears deal which means front and rears for $191... delivered. I cant say personally how they are compared to top brand items but ive heard that they're just as good.
  7. watch out for unmarked ve's blue and white unmarked bmw bikes a blue and black xr8 a red vz ute white vw and hiace vans - these guys are either rbt or dedicated defect bus... stay away silver and black land cruisers with heavy duty racks on top + spot lights mounted at all 4 corners thats all from my sightseeing over the last year or so that i can remember
  8. wish you guys all the best with this!

  14. haha no worries ill send it through again, i thought you might have been too busy and didn't wanna disturb you as its not a very immediate thing.
  15. no offense dude but this thread is a bad example of why skyline drivers are targeted. speeding on public roads doing 160 in an 80 area? racing cars? flashed at 30k over? you have had the car for how long now, 2 weeks? now lets think about this, at the rate you're going, you will be lucky if you don't seriously injure yourself or someone else on the road. there is a time and place for these things, please slow down and think about the possible outcomes before they occur. im not trying to sound like someones mum etc... its because ive been there and seen it happen, its not at all a pretty sight. on a side note, you scored yourself what appears to be a very nice car. take it easy and learn the car before doing any mods, you will appreciate it a lot more in the end.
  16. r34 the r35 is all good and well, new age, new product etc... but from a pure driving point of view Nissan failed in 1. the size of the car... no matter how you look at it, its a whale 2. the weight... yes electronics help it but reduce the size and weight and it becomes a much better car. 3. gearbox, hate the flappy pedal bullshit... clutch and floor shift all the way. it can shift as fast as it wants but precise clutch control will never be replaced.
  17. spotted a white datto, a silvia? and a white r33 down greenhill road at around about 00.10am this morning. was with my bro in a white ba xr6. the datto looked nuts!!
  18. that looks nuts!!! reply my e-mail dammit
  19. so much for that wheel alignment i was meant to get... went to 3 places and no one could get the car up on the hoist. exhaust hanging too loooowwww.
  20. +1 for gsl rallysport, ive bought quite a few things off em for my old tx3... cheapest prices by far! looks like i will have to miss this track day. still got these on my to do list: pads (ordered) rotors (waiting on $$) oil cooler (waiting on $$) ba falcon thermo fans to be installed (waiting on time) brake master support (the things that stop flex) (ordered) i did get coilovers, good alignment, tyres, fire extinguisher and helmet but not feeling too comfortable with current brakes so thats the only thing really stopping me (or not stopping me )
  21. went down to check out the 2009 drz400sm today... prices went up a fair bit, think ill need to settle for an earlier model. The guy there said he can do me a deal on my bike + some cash for the drz but wasnt able to tell me how much. hmm gotta start hunting around.
  22. haha yeah i know how important a proper wheel alignment can be, will go get one done tommorow but was only wandering if it was absolutely necessary just so i know. last week when i went to get mine done, all the settings were all over the place. cant tell you how much of a difference i felt after it was done! completely different car.
  23. So far so good, i haven't had a chance to really test them out but atm its staying very flat through corners and im getting a bit more feedback all round. Height only, everything else is preset. as far as settings go i cant find any information on these coilovers as they were only ever sold in japan and in limited amounts too apparently... majority sold had spring ratings at 9kg front 7kg back that's about all i know. Other noticeable feature is a double spring setup, i haven't seen anything like it before. Should have grabbed a few pics before i put them in but heres one I found on the net for an r32 GTR
  24. I might just as well go and get one anyways. I got a second hand set of Bridgestone NPG's in mint condition. The ride feels very firm but not too bad over bumps either. Only problem is they're set pretty low and I don't have the wrenches to raise the car up a bit.
