  1. iv got the same problem . happened yesterday - im only reachin 3-5 psi in 2nd gear , 9 psi in 3rd = stock boost btw .
  2. i took my car to a mates house last night , where a few mechanics were which i rarely see . long story short they were checkin out my fmic which i just installed , and checkin round the head , when they noticed slight amount of oil on my rocker cover . i was kind of worried hearing that, and i want to know is there a way about fixing that? would i have to buy new gaskets ? or could something be possibly loose? they said its nothing major to worry about because it was much of a bad leak , just said check your dip stick very often ? help needed
  3. yeah , im running stage one mods , pod / turbo back exhaust / fmic / stock boost atm ,
  4. i usually drive from sydney to brisbane . in old car id fill up 2 full tanks and a just a quater . 1000 kms one way . smaller tank though and 4cyl .. but i wouldnt boost her at all on the drive itd be good to get around 500 thanks for the posts
  5. im only 2 months new to my skyline and havent been on a long trip with it yet , i was wondering how many kms do you guys estimate on a full tank , going at 100/110 kms - any one know roughly how much i would be expecting to get ? thanks
  6. i might go for 11 psi , i wanna get a pfc - but a bit costly atm . thats my next plan of attack ,
  7. iv been driving a lot and watching my gauge . i noticed that slowly increasin speed during boost it will reach aroun 8 psi . if im close to hitting boost and slam my foot down - she will go to 10 psi - and hold , thats my peak . mind you im running stage 1 mods - fmic , pod , turbo back exhaust - twin split dump pipe , stock boost . im looking to get a boost controller soon . how high do you recon is safe to go on stock turbo?
  8. i hear that screaching noise every few months , i mainly notice it when we get some rain or a misty night , my opinion is it could be moisture getting to the belts? my opinion - im not a mechanic or anything , but i do notice it in those conditions . on my old car i got the same noise and sprayed some wd40 on them , would stop the noise , from happening in winter
  9. i installed my fmic a few weeks back , i was reading today about something that questioned my opinion. my piping for the cooler didnt come with a nipple so i taped into the vacume hose off the bov and hooked it to that = now i was reading that it can cause spiking? what exactly is happening when it spikes if it does ? and am i running a risk having it working off the bov vacume hose? help would be appreciated thanks
  10. i looked at whereis.com , and it gave me a map to get there but it was through a lot of back streets , not a direct route . i looked in the st directory and followed the m 5 and goes straight to the airport - i just want to be sure lol . is there any tolls?
  11. i got a question - im after getting to domestic airport - does any one know if i get onto king georges rd , and turn onto the m5 tunnel , will that take me directly to the domestic airport with out any chance of getting lost? im comming from lidcombe . cheers anyone who can help

  13. iv been hearing talk about foggies getting cut out , who had to cut theirs out? i didnt have to really touch them
  14. see the black piping from the throttle body - theres a vacume hose of it for boost - , my piping for my new cooler didnt have a nipple - so i was wondering where to connect it = its all good - i was reading posts and people have just hooked it up to another vacume hose
  15. there was no nipple off the new pipin , can i run the boost vacume hose to another vacume hose - some one told me to do that - just want to clarify its okay
  16. im installing my fmic right now - and iv come to a problem , the pipe that runs off the throttle body has a hose connected to it , when i attatch my new pipe which goes over the fan etc, what am i supposed to do with the hose????

  18. yeah im going to use the stock gasket between flange and stock bov positing and make another .
  19. i was a bit confused with the stock boost gauge at first too . looked closer after a while to realise its in bar not psi . im running simple mods at the moment , turbo back exhaust , pod - and i installed a boost gauge the other night , to see that it picks up to 10 psi . im installing a fmic this weekend , so maybe a bit more
  20. i have a quesion , im making a flange to accomodate my new bov , so it can be boltd to stock positioning , i wanted to know , would aluminium say about 5 mm thick or maybe a bit bigger , be good enough and endure the engine bay heat etc..? and not bend basically im gonna just make the flange , drill the 2 holes to bolt in on , and a big hole in the centre same size as stock / then it just bolts the the bov , - an adaptor came with the bov , so all i will have to do is get it welded. any thoughts ,thanks?
  21. just wanted to know whos been fined or pulled over for having a front mount intercooler installed? and any info on what happens etc....
