Mine sounds exactly as the one in the first vid. Problem is when i undo the bolt for the spring it flutters more.
I would of thought this would loosen it hence making it vent easier instead of not letting it come out?
ps its just a copy ssqv but should work on same principle
-
just in surfers atm so havent had a chance to check thread.
Basicaly what i have now is
brake pad -> rubber shim -> metal shim1 ->grease inbetween->metal shim2
note, NO goo was used with this setup as it says not to use with the rubber shims
i grease the 2 pins and the clips that holds the brake pads in where it makes contact with the pins. NOT the springy metal bit that goes through the end of the pins as that is the safety mechanism and dont want that sliding out lol
i used wheel bearing grease but now there is a real light squeal after driving to QLD but not bad at all and if it stays like this i will be happy. will try with proper copper grease when i get my hands on some and hopefully it keeps longer
-
well omfg i may have fixed it
well anyway we will see how it goes in a weeks time
used grease on the pins and retainling clip where pin makes contact and in between shims. Also used the rubber anti squeal shims on the back of the brake pad and no squeal!
went for a 45 min drive and only had 1 real minor squeal out of the whole drive
maybe my joy will be short-lived but f**k does it sound good when theres no squeal
-
champion, thanks that clears it up 1000%
btw think i fixed my squeal. sill see how it goes over the next week

thanks everyone, im sure i got them the right way
rda seems like the face the rear like i have them and alot of others face the front like dba
-
thanks mate im a bit busy coz of xmas period but may take u up on that later
ive tried all combinations of goo with no success
-
yes they were labeled and im sure i got them the right way but now i am having second thoughts
NYtSKY what brand are your rotors?
i dont know how to tell by the vanes, you can barely see between the rotor
-
anyone can confirm? just take a walk outside to your car and check =)
-
done a million seaches and no help to my problem (look in sig for thread)
vanes are on the inside on the rotor isnt it?
-
how sure are you?
the RDA ones from the group buy i am talking about
so the way the slots go they 'cut' into your rotors rather than lean away from them
someone else can confirm?????????????? (this may be my squealing problem..prob not tho)
-
mine had same problem
check the filler neck itslef the one with the flap. when they import them i am sure they put this bit in and do a shit job at that
mine was stuck in using some plumbing tape or some shit.
Took it out, cleaned it than used some "quick-steel- i think its called and sealed her up
yes now i get the pssssssht when releasing the petty cap, sometimes tho i guess depends on temperature and how much is left in the tank
-
The white one in the first post, amazing...until i saw the back.. bad choice of rear styling but front/side view looks real good (bar the petrol cap)
good idea i rekon as 33 fronts are pretty crappy especially with those ghey yellow headlights!
-
Id go 34 out of the lot but 33 is not far behind. nice a phat
32's just never did it for me... not sleek enough like an s15 nor fat enough like a 33 its sort of inbetween
but it all depends on you
and yes they look much better in real life ... oh so fat =)
-
i got the group buy rda rotors, just want to make 100% sure i have them on the right way
are they meant to look like this
http://www.nismo.com.au/pricelists/General...brakekit343.jpg
That is the drivers side front wheel
so the grooves go like that or the other way?
-
what power at the wheels would the 444cc injectors reach up to?
pretty lame question but interested in them coz of the price
straight bolt on to r33 gtst?
-
as long as u have 2 mufflers it is quiet
i have a kakimoto one not sure if its 3 or 3.5" from turbo back
says reg 92db on the cannon altho i think its 89db for NSW? either way its really quiet but when it opens up its nice and loud
-
i dont think a 175rwkw would be a 300kw vy ss
standard quarter times for my bosses senator was 13.7 last time i looked it up which is the 298kw version
skyline with 175 which is basically an exhaust and about 10psi i think would lose
not by much tho
-
not really no, rotors are smooth to touch and no dust or very little to be seen
-
Yes its normal and yes its your oil pressure
raises as the revs raise, also takes a while to settle when car is cold as you mentioned
halfway is 55psi if you convert it to psi
i would worry if it wouldnt go up with revs!
-
*cough* rip-off *cough*
Thats dirty to charge that much if it was only a balance
-
for me, the more heat the worse it seems
first 3 or 4 stops there is no sound but than it gets constant after that
will try greasin the pins but prob wont do nothing
-
Question: what way do the slots go on the rotors just out of curiosity
when the wheel spins do the slots lean into the calipers or away from the calipers if you know what i mean
-
Does it real bad when going downhill like in a car park or the like
so im guessing on a downhill it would use the front brakes even more correct?
if thats true there goes my theory of its the back brakes

If anyone has a bolt on atmo BOV that is in good working condition for an R33 (whether it be on or off your car, i can do all the work if needed) that i can try to confirm my bov is stuffed it would be greatly appreciated.
Has to have a bolt on flange to suit standard pipe to make things easier
I can meet up with you. Im in bankstown area but willing to travel up to half hour say
so if anyone can find it in the goodness of there heart to help me out id appreciate it
