  1. Rang Just Cars first to ask for a quote on an unmodified S15 and they redirected me to AAMI. Same company, I know, but it was interesting to know that the S15 fits into their 'STD' car category. Still doesn't make things any cheaper...$2555 for the s15, over 30, rating 1. Excess is cheaper though - $450.
  2. it's only the front edge of the seat that sits higher. Your bum would basically sit in the same hight as the old seat (with it lowered fully). Knees certainly get close to the steering wheel with this seat. I'm 183cm tall and it feels just right. Just don't raise the seat all the way or you will end up bumping your head. Not too fussed if someone doesn't buy it as I wouldn't mind using it in the next car I end up with.
  3. the mob who installed the seat offered to have different upholstery fitted so it wouldn't surprise me that you could go somewhere to change it. Leather would be nice.
  4. have to say guys looking at the rwkw figures that get posted that I had no idea how highly modded out my 230rwkw GTS-T was in comparision to most GTS-T's out there. I seriously thought 230rwkw or higher wasn't that uncommon. Only problem now is that it's not likely I'm going to be driving something that's going to deliver the same rush that this one did...not without spending the big bucks the previous owner did on the Apexi gear and the like. Have to say I wish to god that the guy I bought it off had givien me the original ECU so I could have swapped it out the day I stacked the car. Live and learn.
  5. another pic. The electric adjustment pivots from the front of the seat when it raises or lowers the seat. Front of seat pulls out for more leg support. One word of warning is that the front of the seat sits 3-4 cm higher than the original GTS-T seats due to the extra hight adjustable mechanism so if you have short legs it might be an issue. Probably better suited to 170cm or taller drivers.
  6. ok, here is the first picture I shot this morning..
  7. Forgot to go snap happy last night with the seat. Will do tonight and post.
  8. Is that a hint of sarcasm ?? :bahaha: And that's just for a single seat. Expensive enough for you? Still if you want the sexiest/most comfortable seat around in a GTS-T you can't go past this one.
  9. Also - I have original air intake/filter and associated pipework for GTS-T series 2 (make an offer). and set of the four original series 2 alloys in top condition ($400). and R33 front strut brace about 6 months old in good condition - $100
  10. I have a very new Recaro Sports electric height adjustable seat with a Skyline GTS-T mounting frame (drivers side) ready to go. Just need to wire up the connector and attach via the four bolts. Better looking than the GTR Recaro's (similar shape) and the last of the Sports seats with the 4 point harness holes. Grey in colour. Lumbar support adjustment via air bladder in seat. Very comfortable seat. Certainly stops you from sliding off the seat in those fast corners. Will have photo's soon. Cost me $2200 fully installed and is only a couple of months old. No damage at all. Willing to sell for $1400. Can supply in Sydney or near lower Blue mountains.
  11. I had a theory about this for a while.... On my GTS-T I was noticing that if I was really racing the car the the guage will plummet reasonably quickly. As soon as I was taking it easy for a while it would seem to come back up a small amount. It almost seemed to be indicating an estimate based on the consumtion rate rather than what was actually left in the tank. Surely they didn't put any smarts into the fuel guage?? Anyone else notice this?
  12. Also I should note that when I got my GTS-T already modded up I didn't give fuel much of a thought and ended up with a Caltex fuel card. Bad move. The Vortex is rated at 96 octane and the Apexi was mapped to work with 98 octane. Motor needed replacing a few months ago 6 months after I got the car. Compression was all gone and the blow-by was sqirting oil into everything. Optimax from that point on with the replacement engine. Power was off the planet after the engine change over...even more with the Wynns octane boost. Ok, I'm really missing my car! I don't think I can cope anymore! Need to start a support group for people not coping with the sudden loss of their Skylines. LOL!!
  13. SilvaR33 - give Unique Auto Sports (www.gtr.com.au) a call as they supplied the fibreglass GTR bar on my series 2. Be aware though that the steel bar it's screwed to had to have a chunk out of it to allow it to fit. Previous owner had all this done but after reading some posts on the matter you could run into insurance hassles. Probably why you have been told they cannot be fitted to the GTS-T series 2...nobody is game to grind chunks out of the steel bar any more. Also check this post on dodgy body kits (like mine): http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...8321#post138321
  14. It's the $$$ commitment that's the big issue. The $36k lease I had was draining the income faster than I would have liked (didn't help when the R33 needed it's engine replaced...damn mods!). $26k seems to be the sweet spot so I guess I'll just have to wait for the right car. The S15 is the only 200sx I like the look of, inside and out. Silver-Arrowz - I'd be just has happy to drive an R32 GTR or RX7 even but that also doesn't fit the budget right now. Time for a little begging to the boss for more wonga? Bloody mortgage!
  15. after the cup holder bit?? Sorry to say but the insurance company won't let me touch anything else. Also, it seemed they had already pulled off the cover for the ECU on the passenger side so they now know full well it has the Apexi FC. Not too concerned as the insurance company are looking at a market price of 34k + 15% of that toward paying out the lease so I walk away reasonably clear of debts. Even better if I get something for the gear I did retrieved.
  16. I purchase the series 2 GTS-T fully modified for $36k which was actually a good deal considering the mods cost the guy about $20k on top of the standard series 2 price of about $28k+ Insurance gets a little nasty at your age. Personally I don't want to ever modify my next car. Could just be that fact that I'm still feeling a little rattled by my accident and would rather be driving a little Mini Cooper right now. It will pass...
  17. The later 2002 models with only 15,000km are going for around $32k to $38k at dealers. I haven't seen any early S15's from Nov 2000 to 2001 floating around in all the online ad's so no idea what they might go for. I suspect perhaps $26k to $32k. I'd be stoked if I could find a private sale for a Nov 2000 S15 in Black going for $26-28k. Perhaps something that had done higher kms. I'm probably going to leave it for later as well. Perhaps even wait till the end of the year when prices will be more reasonable for the S15's.
  18. Hi, anyone know of anyone wanting to sell their 200sx? Prefer the following. Early S15 (Nov 2000 onwards to Mid 2001). Already done 30-60k. Spec-S, perhaps even Spec-R if the price is ok. Black, Silver or Red. Seller within 300km of Sydney. No mods. Please mail me if you have something. I'm in no rush for one at the moment as I'm actually enjoying going back to catching the train to work after my GTS-T was totalled . Thanks!
  19. rear damage not as bad but the poor old Apexi exhaust copped it.
  20. have a very new Recaro Sports seat with electric hight adjust for the drivers side that is ready to go straight into an R33 GTS-T (series 2?)if anyone wants one? New black Nismo gear knob? Original Nissan GTR rear badge? Red MOMO peddle covers (manual)? 4 months old front strut brace? mail me if you are interested. Here is the front damage...
  21. Well, the car is offically a write off. I have a few things recovered from the car but not the all important Apexi gear...insurance company was keen to keep that stuff to maximise their salvage. I'm actually keen to see what the salvage company wants at auction for the wreck. Wonder if I could afford to buy it and fix it up over time back to it's original state? Anyhow here are the pix...before shot on this post, after on the next.
  22. Find out today if the car is to be written off. If so I'll get the insurer to list the mods that they picked up on and remove the bits that they didn't know about with the originals before they salvage it. With a bit of luck I should be able to retrieve the Apexi electronic gear as it's worth a bundle. Problem with it being under a lease that is only just half way into the 2 year lease period is that there is still a large amount owing (didn't help that E**** had to fork out $5300 to replace the engine not long ago so that's been slapped onto it.). John P. at UAS seems to think the market/selling price should be around $34k with all the mods but no doubt the insurance company has their own opinions about that. Either way I know I'm going to have to pay something towards paying off the lease if it is written off. Personally I think the car is fixable so I'll be interested to hear the reasons why they need to write it off (if they do). This has been the longest three days of my life.
  23. Now I'm worried. I've got a UAS GTR fibreglass front bar which clearly had to be fitted by having a large centre section of the metal bar that runs behind it chopped out of it. No doubt that dramatically reduces the strength of the framework. Unfortunately I did have a prang the other week and it certainly seems clear looking at the damage that the metal bar did nothing to relieve the impact in any way. It's just totally buckled. Now I'm in a panic to see if the insurer is going to kick up a stink and tell me that the car cannot be insured for the accident because of this mod. I'm so not calm at the moment! If anyone has something to say to make me feel better....
  24. yeah, I had my AVC-R set to 0.5 bar so it was a little unexpected that it lost traction in a moderate acceleration. Must be that damn Wynns octane boost in the Optimax!
