The thing that in sure many wont agree with is that the GTR was fading fast and that was only after 5 laps although i will admit it was most likely a combination of tyres AND brakes. The cars too heavy. Had the GT3 not been held up by its slower sister, i think things would have been very different. The Brakes on the GTR would have to be the achilles heel of the car would they not?

I highly doubt it from the shots ive just seen... Busy bees at Nissan motorsport... looks hot.

At the risk of getting lampooned, yet again, for a substandard and worthless thread, im putting up some pics from a great mag i just picked up dedicated to the R35. Im sure its bound to spark up some discussion...i hope. It came with the 'ring lap on disc and has huge amounts of info inside. Please click on photos to enlarge. Here are some shots..sorry for the shitty photos, dont have a scanner... I especially like the design development shots and seeing the cars all lined up in 1:1 configuration. Interestingly, Ghosn's final design didnt get put into production..i think he like the spoiler vents..i agree althought the bonnet vents on the production model are better. Also, have a look at the final two shots. One is of the choices in colour consumers are going for as well as the specification. One final thing. This mag had some shots of what they believe to be the development car for the V-Spec and its their belief that one will eventually surface in the coming months. That is all.

Mate, a one lap dash around the Ring is one thing. There are massive straights there to allow the GTR to cool its brakes.. but The GTR was CLEARLY losing ground hand over fist to the Lambo for example in that 5 lap Tsukuba battle where there isnt enough road to give it time to cool off. It needs to go on a diet, im pretty sure many will agree. the numbers say quite a bit for me, weight wise...

yeah it needs to drop way more than 220 pounds more like 500 if its going to match the GT3 for example blow for blow. The GTR is a fat bastard at the moment.

Its not the anchors. The Gt3 is lighter, MUCH lighter at 1394 Kilograms compared to the R35's 1590. Thats 200 whopping kilos LESS for the brakes to handle. I really suspect the anchors on the R35 may not be up to the task from the looks of things. On the power side of things, they are pretty much lineball...
