  1. I'm assuming that either a 1ggte, 1ggze or 1jz is going to end up in this? it better!!!
  2. I'm waiting for RB2530 to post here about his ecu/afm adventures. always causes arguements and entertainment with the Z32/PFC crowd.
  3. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;s=&f=29 expect to pay about $50
  4. use the stock box, intake and filter. sell the pod. Z32 is the 300zx. their AFM meter has a higher max voltage which means more tuning resolution. I got the same as you (sort of) just bought an R33, has a cat back and blitz pod. I will be replacing that with the stock intake stuff soon. I only get to play with the car a little bit on weekends so gotta get the service and stuff out of the way first. I agree.. the sound is f*king annoying.
  5. Toshi - Do you keep the tunes stored for future use? say If I have the same engine, same mods as SID. and I live interstate.. Can I just purchase your R33 ECU + send my stock one to you? for the cost of the tune + postage etc?
  6. I understand Limpus was bored and had a filter to play with and had a butchered box already so did this. what about you subie? why do you want to do it? What is your reasoning behind it? why/how do you think it's going to be better than even a stock NISSAN paper panel filter element in the stock air box using stock ducting?
  7. Just jap kit using stock pipes is about $550 if I remember from another thread. AVO also make fmic's using stock pipes. and here comes the usual question. do you have the stock turbo? if so, why not just replace your SMIC with an R34 SMIC for $150. it is more than capable to flow and cool what the stock turbo can throw at it before it throws it's exhaust wheel.
  8. if the OP is in sydney, I'd suggest you chat with toshi (who will do a road tune or dyno tune.. whatever you want - and cost you around the $300) or because your mods are the usual budgets mods (rb25 turbo, exhaust, filter, fuel pump, boost), CEF11E can give you his generic chip which he used when he had those mods on his own car for whatever he charges. Someone said $100. that's like a tank of fuel in sydney these days.. EDIT - Toshi has his own little advert in the trader section.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...ml&hl=toshi
  9. 11-13 psi on stock turbo does NOT equal same "AIRFLOW" as 11-13psi on hiflow turbo. Boost pressure does NOT equal same amount of air flow. if you MUST use the hiflow, just run it off the wastegate spring setting (5 psi or whatever it is). but then it would be laggy as shit.
  10. I'll try to file it down this weekend. I will also look for another bolt.. or I guess I can continue to use to backyard modified 14mm/13mm bolt that I will end up having.
  11. The mods you are doing to your car are the exact same things that everyone else does. Contact 2 users from these forums for their thoughts and prices. TOSHI CEF11E

    My R33 Gtr

yeh.. or leave it as it is, and have the same title under your userid as Duncan..
  13. lol.. maybe he made a typo and is selling the pair for $100.. there fore, you would be saving "well over $100"
  14. No! R34 GTR came with BALL BEARING, ceramic exhaust wheel turbo's. as someone has said above, the stock boost for an R34 GTR is 1 Bar. so you seeing 1.1 with exhaust etc would be normal. the only skyline turbo's with steel wheels are the N1 series of GTR. The only base model GTR to come with BALL BEARING turbo's was the R34 GTR. so.. what is stock GTR boost for R34? 1 bar.
  15. went to change the oil on the weekend only to find that the sump plug is well farked. it is all rounded around the edges and it would not grab strong enough to turn it. it's a 14mm head as the 15 is too big and 13 is too small, but the 14 just slips through when you apply a bit of force. I even tried to use a shifter to get a really tight fit on to it but it's almost like someone put it on there with a ratchet gun or something. so what are my options? I assume some workshop will have some way of getting it off, once that is done, can I get a replacement bolt from any autobarn type shop? repco or something? or does nissan stock RB25 sump plugs? and washers I suppose.
  16. Just want to say thanks to Chris. The $500 blew out to $700. $500 to Chris, and the $200 at friken Chermside westfields cause I took the wife with me for the 4 hours I was there. Chris did a limo service and dropped us off there and picked us up when done. Perfect job. he even managed to put the botom part of the dash back in properly after I left it partly out after my awesome deck install the weekend before. Not a single cable clipping or wire or finger print left anywhere in the car. The only evidence of the car having some sort of device fitted is the tiny red flashing light in front of the cluster. and the fact that it doesn't start when armed. Thanks mate. I will no doubt see you again when I change cars.. at the current rate, that should be in about 8 months time..
  17. Bump - was due to swap for some 17" black simmons till the fella "buckled" them. so back to swaps. R34 GTT rims.. - pics please (more so how it looks on the car and the tyres) the guy with the VOLK emu's - pics please - I don't know what they look like. Will also now consider swap with good condition 16" R32 GTR wheels and good tyres. The guy who sent me a PM - I will check the pics at home as I can't see them from work, then get back to ya.
  18. you opted for the high end stuff hey?
  19. You're the coolest.. Can I be your friend?
  20. Beetak y0! type R badge?
  21. tell em the price son, the price son. Roy boys 250rwkw RB20 cost him $400 from the wreckers. he then bolted his TD06, intercooler, injectors, PFC and a throat full of boost. almost makes enough power to travel back in time to root his future mum.
  22. the GTR was 120K when new. and is now down to $20K for a good example as you said. what was a GTST of the same year worth when new? a quarter of the gtr price? as a percentage or as a dollar figure, the GTR has lost more.
  23. my god people get worked up about these questions.. It's like someone said something about someones mother when they mention anything bad about the gtr the short answer is, any skyline is better than an auto skyline. so yes.. sell up and buy a gtr.
  24. So I've had 2 RB20's and this is the first RB25. Mods are. Apexi Cat back Blitz pod (I think). all else is stock, bov, boost, pump, regulator, injectors, afm etc etc. When I am driving along, and back off from the accelerator, if the revs are below say 2700rpm, instead of being a smooth sound and smooth deceleration, I get small popb and burbles from the exhaust. if it is above this rev, it will be a smooth deceleration/sound all the way down from what ever rev I was at.. lets say 3500, to around 1500rpm, then burble and pop a few before I step on the clutch. The car idles fine. doesn't make any difference wether it's hot or cold weather or hot or cold engine. I am getting 13L/100kms (got 399km and put in 52.3xL) with mixed freeway (100km/h) and suburban stop go traffic. I don't have black shit all over the rear bumper so it's not running rich. the Rb20's I've had have never done the above popping. is it normal in RB25's? this weekend the car will get new oil/filter and plugs as it's due for it's 5000km service but not sure if this will change anything. any ideas? or is it all normal?
  25. ^^^ this man must be refering to the Z3 time in Urines life.
